Morning All,

So after starting and stopping JC I am returning back to JC. This time I am a single parent and I wanted to find out how do you deal with your child eating a different meal than you and not letting them taste what you have on your plate smile.gif It won't harm them I'm sure but its not a lot of food to begin with no tasting smile.gif Kidding but really I plan on doing this program until my goal so I am looking for support especially since I am a single parent smile.gif

Hi Teea!
What I do is make something large on Sundays that last her about 4 days. A big batch of Ziti, or chicken and Rice in the crock pot or something like that. Then I change it up a little every day. I pre-portion it for 3 to 4 days for her. She is old enough to take it out of the fridge and microwave it, if she wants. Then I am not cooking for her every day. I don't let her "taste" my food, as that is a bad habit, IMO, and I don't want her to have the same issues I grew up with that got me here in the first place. I don't keep any trigger foods in the house but will buy her an individual serving if she wants. For example, she wanted ice cream last night. That is a huge trigger food for me, so I gave her $2 and let her get a cone from the ice cream truck last night.
I use my crock pot A LOT when cooking for her. Friday nights, I let her have a TV dinner as a treat (I usually go out with the BF on Friday nights) and Saturday nights, we have always gotten Take out, now I just get it for her, Sunday Night is soup and sandwich night. And then we start again.
I hope that helps
Debbie

WOW that is a nice system you have in place. Thank you! I will def. get started on a system for her and I. I have committed myself to 18 weeks then after that I told my consultant we will go from there. Its a contract I have to keep that way I can say to myself you gave it 100%. Thanks again!

I lost 90 pounds in 2006 hitting my goal in 2007. I am back because I gained 22 back and I promised myself I would never go there again. My contract with myself was 5 pounds at a time. That is all I could think about. My body has a tendency to gain every 3 weeks, even if I stick to my plan, so that is why I did it with pounds instead of time, but whatever works to get you there. :-)

Let me know what sort of system you come up with.

Hi. I just started JC 5 weeks ago, and just spent this weekend separating my daughter's food from mine. We each have a cabinet in the kitchen to store each of our foods. I do not open her side. That way I cannot see her goodies/treats, and she knows she cannot use things in my cabinet. We share whatever is stored in the frig, like sugar-free jello, fruits and veggies. Her leftovers are stored in containers that go directly into the microwave when she is hungry.

I also plan her dinners and shop on Sunday. Veggies or a salad with each of our meals. I make a meat loaf on Sunday which can will cover Sunday and Monday. Leftovers make meat sauce for her pasta on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday night is her fast food night and I enjoy my slider or turkey burger along with her. Friday is pizza night - personal pizza for her and a JC rising crust pizza for me. Saturday is big salad night for both of us, using up all the veggies left over from the week so there is room in the frig to grocery shop again on Sunday.

Hope this helps. And remember...A journey on a long road is traveled one mile at a time. Keep going in the right direction.
