April Fool's Day!!

Well, I am not fooling when I say I need help and accountibility with exercise. I am limited in what I can do because getting on the floor is impossible for me, I have artificial knees and and a fused ankle so that also limits me. What I have been doing is the Leslie Sanson dvd's going from 2-3 miles at a time twice a week. I have also just joined the walkers at the mall and walk 2-3 laps which equals the 2-3 miles.
Now..here is my problem...if I have no one to do this with I won't do it! I need help getting over this block and learning to like my own company enough and believing I deserve this exercise time. I need that push!
If any of you have any ideas that will get me going (like today my mall partner dogged me so here I sit at the computer) I am open to hearing them.

Thanks Pattylynne
Martha

smile.gif Hi Martha and welcome to the group. I am so glad to hear from you and I read with great interest your post in the coffee thread. First of all I am giving you a big hug and high five for your ah moment at the therapist. Its vital that it is your plan that you follow and not the rules of another. You are taking ownership and that is key. Unless we personally buy into a program or plan, we ultimately fail. Now I don't necessarily agree with the exchanging out of foods for your 1700 calorie count but if it stops you from stuffing and hiding then I am all for it. Right now the goal is to satisfy your soul in a reasonable and sane way. As you gain control of your eating I highly recommend that you start reading some basic nutrition books to give you an idea of how our body needs each type of food. At the moment I am reading a book called Ultra Metabolism by Mark Hyman, MD because at my stage of weight loss continuing to cut calories is not going to help me. My focus is on increasing my metabolism so my focus now is on weight training & core development and picking the right combination of food.

As for you my dear Martha, I was absolutely amazed about how much you did in your home prior to going to the walk at church. Martha you were burning calories and exercising as you did normal household chores. Please go and take a look at the Jenny Craig guide titled Success Made Simple on page 37 as it describes Natural Activity and gives the breakdown of everyday chores. Its really amazing how many calories that you can do burn through cleaning, washing dishes etc. Exercise occurs whenever you choose to move your body.

Now as for not enjoying to exercise alone...thats a hard one for me because by nature I am a solitary person preferring walks by myself. I don't have to adjust my stride for others and I can take the time to look and observe. Granted the winter weather in Virginia is much nicer than Michigan but honestly I go out and walk in all sorts of weather. Frankly I love to splash in puddles and enjoy the liquid sunshine of nature. However if you need companionship with your walk do you have an ipod or MP3 player because the music can help you keep the beat of your walk.

Yes keep coming here for encouragement and new ideas to help you. We are definitely a mixed bunch at different stages of exercise but all are welcome.

Take care dear Sister!
With patience and perseverance I choose to pursue my goals.

Hellooooo....

I'm back, and in a better frame of mind! I was in such a funk and I didn't want to bring anyone else down with me. I'm back losing again for two weeks in a row. I found what is working for me and am going to stay with it. I buy as many days of JC foods as I can afford and then do MOMO and DOMO with JC recipes and good choices as best as I can. I've been working my hiney off at my job--so I haven't had much time to chat.

I also work for the state and if you have been following the news, our Governor is making big cuts and taking away bargaining rights of the unions. I don't fall in that category, but we are feeling the pinch. Funny thing is I know our Governor personnally through my kite flying, and I never thought that he would turn out to be such a big jerk!

Hi Martha--I've read your posts on the coffee thread too. You are a fantastic person and welcome to our thread! I agree with Pattylynne--If you have problems finding a walking partner, get yourself an MP3 player and load it up with music, audiobooks, inspirational talks/lectures, or whatever you like to listen to and go on your own. Have a spare battery with you too. I have found that I need to wear a pedometer and keep track of my steps daily. Right now my JCC and I have set a goal of 5000+ steps for 3 or more days per week.

I, too, have issues with getting up and down off of the floor. At 50, my flexibility isn't what it used to be. I was never that flexible of a person to begin with, even as a young person. I also take belly dance classes. It's a good workout and loads of fun! There isn't too much bouncing (I have knee and foot issues too), no hopping or running and we only do cool down floor work. Sometimes I skip that, or my instructor allows me a standing version of the same exercises. We have women of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities in our class--and you wanna know a secret? It's the big, older women that look the best dancing the moves!

Well, my lunch is over and I gotta get back to it.

Thanks for the welcome Pattylynne and Donna. I do have an IPod that my family gave me for Christmas a couple yrs ago. However, do I even know how to use it?? Not really! I will get out the instructions and teach myself this weekend. I love the idea of motivational speeches and audio books. Seeing I love to read this would be an awesome way to stay in the walk and entertained. Thanks for the push on this.
Pattylynne..being an RN I am aware of all the potential dangers of eating unhealtily. Seeing I have struggled with jenny foods for many months it just seemed a way to get back into it slowly while I wean myself off the junk. Going cold turkey I believe would leave my pshche feeling deprived and my addiction calling out. Knowing I have the 1700 cal ceiling it will stop me from binge-eating because my ownership (and OCD!) will kick in. I will get my jc manuals out again as it has been a long time since I have reviewed them.

Donna...belly dancing??? Good for you! And how oportunistic it is that you mention dancing. I am strongly thinking of joining a salsa dance class which begins after Easter. My lovely niece is getting married June 24th to a wonderful man from Columbia. He has put a salsa group in the reception and I plan to dance at it!! I have never danced at any reception in my life and being 58 (59 at wedding time) I need to enjoy and not be the wall flower. Plus, I totally love this guy and want to have one dance with the groom that evening...lol. I plan to have a blast no matter what my size is.

I have not done my walk yet and it is after 5pm. I promise, I am going to go do 3 miles right now!!

Blessings.
Martha

I'd love to join in.. what do i need to do.. put me to work smile.gif

I work from home so I am flexible most of the time.. problem is if I "PLAN" a time to get to gym, something always comes up!! (stuff that normally cannot wait)
I'm not a runner, I don't mind power walking if I have the right music on my iphone smile.gif I tried Zumba last week..and well I'm not too sure it's for me. smile.gif

Evening All!

Thanks for starting April Patty. Martha, Welcome the more the merrier. Donna, YAY!!! missed you.

Martha, I understand not feeling like doing the exercise with out a buddy. I was thinking perhaps talk with someone at a store for runners, sounds crazy but they may know of an organized group of walkers. The other would be through a program for wellness at the hospital. Plus what about church groups, if you attend a church perhaps some people there would want to walk. You could walk with God so to speak. I use my time walking and running almost as a form of meditation, I find it really relaxing, gets my mind off my problems. Also what is your reward for consistantly walking. I use to give the rewards much thought but they actually do help. I love Leslie Sansone and I borrow her group as friends. None of my friends are into walking and running so it makes it rather lonely. I have had some sabotuers who would rather see me give up so I use this as motivation for walking sometimes I visualize leaving them in the dust. I also visualize their negativity being kicked off my heels as I go along. So make your walk your own even if your with others, walk away from your troubles and in to good health, literally.

Patty, I keep forgetting to tell you that I rarely hit a high level of activity on my body bugg unless I am racing. Okay an 11 minute pace, but I'm in a race.

Donna, Congrats on your loss! Sorry to hear your beely dancing is going down hill, given that you are losing. Hope your job is going well.

As for me, well April food on us. Seven more inches of snow. It's going away pretty quickly. This week has been crazy. The week has been rather long and tough. Long days where I have actually met all my goals before leaving work. I've been getting 25,000 steps in most days. Tonight I am ready to fall asleep while typing. I think I'm going to have good WI on Sat. Then Sun I'll have the privledge of running a race for wounded troops and even running with some with prothetics. I am sure some of them will still run faster than me, this is okay by me, couldn't be happier for them. The race benefits a soldier that has lost both legs. Well I can't keep my eyes open and I have JC at 7:00 am . Take care and good night.

Hi Nancy. We have a walking group at church of which I am a part of. It is done to leslie Sansone and we vary our dvd's because we have most of her's. However, they only meet Tues and Thurs. I started mall walking with a friend on m-w-f but she has kind of petered out on me and to be honest I won't make the effort to leave home just to exercise. Thanks for all your suggestions.

I did start my 3 mile fat burning walk with leslie but found I was too tired to continue to full 3. I think I did about 2. This was my 4th day in a row and I have not done that before. My legs were very tired and I was a lot out of breath. I am feeling successful because I did it at home alone! This is the hardest thing for me so yippee for me!!

Bedtime. It is 3:33am. Yawn.
Good Night all.
Martha

Hi everyone,

I just started last month on JC and really loving it so far.
I have a dog - so most of my calories are burned walking him.
Spring is here, so I'm looking forward to going for longer walks, and hopefully bike rides.

Glad to have the support here.

smile.gif Happy Saturday Everyone!

smile.gif Martha, congratulations on getting your walk done! As for my comments on your eating plan please disregard because you do know what you are doing. Your response reminded me that you have a nurses background so you know what is healthy for your body. It is great that you have figured out a plan to outwit those old negative scripts in your head.

smile.gif Linwalker welcome to the group. The two things that motivated me to workout at the gym was first money and then my personal trainer. Silly me went into my gym one day to inquire about personal trainers (this is after the fact that I had a membership with the gym for over 7 months and had not been once) and walked out with a signed contract to exercise twice a week with a personal trainer for one year. When I got home and ran up my financial commitment of $25 per session with the trainer I smacked myself in the head and said OK this is serious money. But the greatest motivator now is my personal trainer...I really do like this lovely young women and she is proving to be a better cheerleader than my JC consultant. The other thing I am contending with is getting the workouts into my normal routine and that is the hardest. I used to make up all these excuses about going to the gym. Now each week I am proving my excuses to be false so gradually this life style is working into a permanent place in my life. As for the types of exercise have you looked at the Spark People . com website? They have a vast area of exercises that can move you from beginner to advance. Keep working at it and if you can find the right motivator for you the workouts will become vital to you.

sad.gif Nancy so sorry about the snow and I know that you are sick of it. Mother Nature be done already and let Spring come! Our area dogged the snow event but has been just so cold, damp and dreary. Yesterday afternoon turned out to be nice and it looks like the temps are going to be more seasonal. Good luck with the race on Sunday. It sounds like an awesome event and a wonderful way to give back to our servicemen biggrin.gif

smile.gif Kite Lady, so good to hear from you again and I am glad that you are getting back in the groove. Way to go on finding how to work with your body so that you can exercise. It comes down to be adaptable and where there is a will there is a way. I do so love to see kites flying and maybe that is a hobby I can pick up. Are there organized groups and how would I go about finding one in my area?

Ok now about me yes I have been exercising and Thursday's session went well though I felt rather winded. We have begun documenting my progress so now I have a road map to follow when I am on my own. My trainer is a great motivator but now I need to start learning how to push myself. Yesterday was a somewhat nerve wracking experience because I finally got the connection done to have my internet over the cable. I have been using a DSL line but I've had issues with the provider. So if every thing goes smoothly in the next month I will remove the DSL line and save about $70 per month. The other ah ha moment from yesterday is that I need to do some serious cleaning and disposing of items from my condo. We get Thursday, Friday and Monday off at Easter because I work for the Catholic University of America. At first I thought I would escape to the beach but now I think I am going to do some serious clean up work at home. Oh well its for the best and the result will be order out of chaos.

Well I have to run now and get things done for Saturday. Angela, Vickie and Marge hope to hear from you soon. I suspect you all are very busy with friends, family and the tea business. Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Morning Ladies!

Martha, good for you for walking by yourself. Remember you have us so just picture us with you. I do this on races since no one I know wants to run let alone race, I just take people along with me in my mind to coach me or run with me. Sounds weird but it works, plus you have complete control over them. I don't know if I've told her but I have taken Georgeanne on races with me on more than one race. She should do really well if she does a race since she's not a rookie. wink.gif Also maybe suggest that the church group meet more often, especially as the weather gets nicer. Perhaps others would like to do a walk with you. Keep giving walking alone a shot, I love it, I'm like Patty, after along day dealing with others I find it very beneficial to go for a walk alone. Know one is asking me to tell them how to do ....... Just my own mind left to calm down down after a hectic day, helps me sleep better.

Linwalker, welcome! You might like Leslie Sansone, I wasn't sure I'd like her, I'm not real rah, rah, thought she'd be too much but I love her and can do her anytime rain, snow or shine. I also have wiifit which I like but don't use as often as I use too. Do try to schedule time for yourself to workout. Many people like to workout before work, I like after work if I'm going to get one in. I have to admit I am not coordinated enough that I would do zumba in public, probably why I run, all is have to manage is one foot in front of another. laugh.gif

Janice, welcome to you too. Dogs are great for getting us out and going without thinking about the walk as excercise. I try to do a walk for my dog and a walk for myself where I'm not having to stop and sniff all the time. That way I can get my pace up higher than with the dog, especially since she has to check for all the new smells since the snow is melting. Depending on where you are in your activity level the couch to 5k program is terrific, c25k.com I highly recommend it.

Patty, I think the only reason I haven't done the trainer is getting past the contract signing. When I think of rewards for reaching goal a trainer is definitely one of them. Glad your enjoying it. Do you have certain goals that you want to meet as a result of doing the workouts, other than your goal weight. I should have been doing the house clean up all winter. Good for you for doing the organizing. I have to say the beach idea would be nice and healthy too, long walks on the beach. It's okay to be good to yourself, maybe a oneday trip to the beach.

Well I had my WI this morning, down 2lbs. YAY!!!! Now 134.6lbs 84.4lbs gone, forever!!! My measurements stayed the same, which at first I wasn't happy about and then I realized I did it. I maintained all winter without any significant gain in weight or inches, considering how my activity level changes for mid Dec to late Mar that's a big accomplishment. I am still feeling wiped out from work this week, muscles are pretty sore today. For those who don't know I buy plants for a garden center, annuals, perennials and veggies. It is NOT a glamour job, it's like 10 hours of aerobic activity. Okay according to my body bugg, it is a good 5 hours of activity, atleast this week. We aren't busy with customer and already without a workout I'm doing 25,000 steps a day and 2500 calories. The weight should start or has started coming off like butter. My big problem lately is getting my brain to shut off and let me get some sleep. This is a job where your unloading plants in snow an then 2 days later it's 60F and your going 60+ to keep up with customer demands. Like being shot out of a cannon. The pitfall is to not over eat to compensate for the fatigue, an easy pit to fall into in this work. So until July my life is not my own, I may leterally be working 7 days a week. UGH!!! So happy spring and be kind to the people at garden centers now that you know the pace and hours they are working. I also need to remember I'm not a 20 something year old guy, I got up on a big ladder this week picked up a huge box carried it to the top and put on a shelf 14' up in the air. What was I thinking? I'm 54 years old, oh that one of my coworkers needed to be put in his place, if he thinks he can push me around. That and the other work I did have certainly been a wake up for him. Finally after being there 5 months I'm able to do my real job. Well it's my last weekend off. I need to prune my roses and pee gee hydrangeas and fertilize some today. Clean up will have to wait until all the snow is melted. Take care.

Oh Georgeanne, are you back from your vacay, How was it?
Angela, how are things going for you?
Marg, where are you? Miss you!

Hi All,

I have not had my computer the last few weekends and weekdays are hard to find time to post as DH and I have to share a computer.

So here I am and will make an effort to check in more --as I sure do need the accountability.

Weight is stable so that is good -- and for the most part eating healthier foods.

Walking a minimum of 1.5 miles a day. This includes walking a mile (round trip) to pick up DH from the office with our dog, And a morning walk of about 1/2 mile. Plus a short .2 mile nightime walk. We have a very active aireldale terrier. Last year we were doing about 3 Plus miles a day -- and I need to get back to that. One website I love is www.mapmyrun (great for figuring out how far you walk). I have walked home from work every now and then and that is just about 1.5 miles.

Weather is getting nicer and that means short sleeves (wore a short sleeve sweater cardigan on Friday and realized that my arms sure could do with a bit of toning).

So I will see if maybe I can fit 3 days of Strength training into my week -- I have followed Jorge Cruise 8 minute in the morning program (it is 2 exercises a day and 6 days -- I will double it up and do 4 a day for 3 days) -- basically it provides a full body workout in a week. In addition there are 4 weeks of programs so you are not always doing the same exercises.

=============================================================

A big Welcome to Martha, Janice and Lin.

Martha -- have your tried writing down your exercise plan for the week? and then checking it off. Also maybe 3 days of structured exercise is enough -- since as Pattylynne mentioned housework also counts as planned activity.

Janice -- what kind of a dog do you have -- he/she looks awfully cute

Lin -- what if you just plan a general time (Monday morning or afternoon, or once you find a class you like you might find it more motivating to go.

Nancy -- so sorry about the snow -- and congrats on maintaining thru your long long winter -- you must be close to your goal now if not there.

Donna -- Great to "see" you again glad you are finding the JC recipes helpful and still enjoying your Belly Dancing.

Pattylynne -- a Big Thankyou for starting us off this month. WTG for keeping up those Trainer appointments -- I did not realize that you had commited for a Whole Year.

Angela, Jen, Vickie and anyone else I might have misssed -- hope you are all doing well.

Marg

Hey all!

I've been so busy --- I was in Sacramento last week (M-F) for work and the week before I was in DC for a day. Ugh. I'm tired. The scale was very friendly this morning. I'm at 158.8! I finally broke into the 150s. I am still having pretty high calorie (eating days), with calorie burn high enough to get me an average deficit of just over 800 cals. Since starting the armband, I'm down over 7 lbs. Its weird though, how they seem to be coming off...to be honest, those first 3 lbs, were really 'fake' pounds as it was a weird one week gain the week before (I had no idea where it came from)...but, even still, I'll take 4 lbs if it keeps up. I think I'm rehydrated enough from my trip, so its not that. Last time I was in the 150s, I had a 7 lbs GAIN in one week to bring me right back up to where I was before, so I'm so NERVOUS.

Anyway, I wish I could stay around longer to read and chat, but I'm so crazy busy! Vicky (my 8 year old daughter) is on her THIRD round of strep (one right after another)! She is on a new antibiotic for 20 days this time! UGH. Work is crazy (but good, more on that later, a potential promotion, in title at least) and home is crazy with spring plays, testing (state MAP testing for kids), baseball started, but indoor soccer not over...dance recital coming...Easter party...first communion party... a wedding...AHH. I just am overwhelmed sometimes.

I have to say one thing I think helped me loose weight is sleep. While traveling, I got closer to 7 hours of sleep a night (not 5), as I could come back to my hotel and go to sleep! I did workout each day and walked alot too....But sleep is so important...will try to keep that up at home, but its harder!

I just got back from my jc appointment and feel a little discouraged. I lost 0.2 lbs and had really looked for more. I will not let it derail me as I know my body is sometimes a week behind the scales. It was a much better week then I have had in a very long time so I will repeat, or improve it, this week and will look for a better result next week.
I did not walk this morning but will walk after I get home tonight. Thanks for all the suggestions. I have my IPod charging right now!!

Blessings.
Martha

Janice -- what kind of a dog do you have -- he/she looks awfully cute

I have a Miniature Schnauzer - Winston. I love him to pieces! He just turned 1 last week.
The great thing about the breed is their adaptability. They can do a 5 mile hike - or sit on the couch all day. We are a perfect match! Although, this particular guy prefers to be out walking!
I live not far from Lake Ontario, so we take walks along there, and there is also a dog park not too far that is a nice walk for us - and then he can run around with the big dogs while I watch!

I had a great - and active - weekend. I organized a group from work to do a walking tour of Toronto. It was about 2 hours long, and I learned more about the city I live in in those two hours, than I have in 18 years of living here! there was about 8 of us, and we had a great time.
I also set a record acording to my arm band... 15,000 + steps!

We are hoping to keep it up through the summer.

I find it so much easier to get out on the weekend to do things if people are counting on me!

My goal for this month is to get my bike out and tuned up and ready to roll. It's still a bit chilly here, with snow last night and they are calling for some more this week...

Not in a good place!

Eating has been poor. I will go in tomorrow for food but will not weigh in.

Got my laptop back. I have not been able to down load my mm band information and have not been entering food either! I think having it back will help with my accountability.

Working out has been good.

Achillis tendon is getting better.

Things are going well with my niece. We had to deal with something my sister did last night but other than that it is going well.

Welcome to the new ladies. I will check in later.

smile.gif Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I'm really swamped with work so this is just a quick shout out to everyone. The weather is certainly crazy here in the Metro DC area. The weekend was cold, yesterday was like early summer and this morning I felt like Dorothy in Kansas with a tornado watch. Because of my schedule I did not make it to my weigh in last night at the JC center and I will not be able to go until next Monday. Fortunately I have enough JC food on hand to mix with "real food" so this will be a good test for me. I'm not stressed but will use my wits and tool set to stay out of trouble. Tonight is workout night so yeah!

smile.gif Hi JaniceL. welcome to the thread and yes your dog Winston is absolutely adorable. The walking tour of Toronto sounded awesome and inspiring. In terms of visiting other countries Canada ranks on the top of my list. Who needs to go to Europe when there are so many wonderful things to see in Canada. Sorry about the snow but Spring will come to you soon. Take care and get out and take Winston for a walk.

smile.gif Hi Nancy, congratulations on your weight loss of 84.4 lbs. Way to go and that is awesome. Even more awesome was making it through the winter without gaining. That is an accomplishment so congrats. After reading what you do in a normal work day my own muscles were tired. In answer to your question about my own personal goals it really isn't to lose weight at this time. I know that sounds strange but I am working more on being steady and constant about my eating and exercise. Frankly I don't know if it will make it back to goal but if I can keep my weight between 125 & 130 I will be thrilled. My ultimate goal with the trainer is for me to have an understanding of what I need to do to stay strong & active. Not looking for 6pack abs but a strong & toned body able to carry me with dignity into the future. I'm 52 and I need to have good bone strength.

smile.gif Martha congratulations on the loss. Yes its small but it is a loss. Keep at your plan with small consistent steps and you will get to your goal. I love your rabbit by the way!

smile.gif Marge, good to hear from you again and congrats on keeping a stable weight. That is the hard part of maintenance staying stable. I love airedale terriers with their wirey coats. When I see them I think of a distinguished gentlemen. Its something about their carriage.

smile.gif Jen, congratulations on the weight loss and the information you are getting from your MM band. I think you are onto something about the sleep aspect. Sleep is very vital to help your body repair. Its one area that I struggle with and at most I get 6 hours during the week. Then on the weekend I try not to overindulge because I have a hard time falling to sleep Sunday evening.

sad.gif Vickie so sorry to hear that you are not in a good place. I'm sending you an electronic hug and a hope that having the laptop back will help you get on track. The MM band does help with the accountability process. I am so glad that you are there for your niece and can support her during these important teen years.

smile.gif Hi Linwalker, I've seen you posting on other threads and I wanted to give you an electronic hug. I was so sorry to read about the problems with your daughter. I have no advice to give you because I have never had children. Please do not take to heart any comments she may make in the midst of anger. You can achieve your goals if you stick with the program. Also remember if you have used food in the past to calm & sooth you, you maybe experiencing more anxiety because you have taken away your soothing technique. Remember to stop & breath when things get tense and if possible just walk away. I know easier said than done because you are the mother. Take care!

smile.gif Hi Donna & Angela, I hope that you are doing well. Sending you warm wishes and big hugs!!

Well I really have to run now and get my day going. Take care everyone and keep moving!
With patience and perseverance I choose to pursue my goals.

Hello!! rolleyes.gif
I met with my JCC this morning and got my food for the week, which wasn’t much really, because of the fact that I have been eating A LOT on my own. Which is not a good way either! angry.gif

Last night I did get my 5:00 class in. I was sore from Saturday’s class and had a bit of a head ache so I took my step down a level and just did a light workout. Even took my weights down. Tonight I have my toning class and am planning on doing some cardio on the treadmill or elliptical. biggrin.gif

I am glad to be back after taking a few days off! I work SO much better with accountability it is not even funny!!!!

Jen-Way to go girl! You must be so happy to see the 150’s!! I can’t wait to see the 160’s again!! Sorry to hear about Vicky! Hope she feels better soon. Glad you are getting more sleep! I will tell you what, if I was only getting 5 hours of sleep I would be major b*****! Just saying!!

Patty-thanks for starting April up and going!! It has been winding here as well. We had storms the other night and I saw the most amazing lightening around 12:30 pm. It was like a strobe light!

Martha-welcome! I love walking or jogging with my mp3 player! I use it while I mow as well-it helps the time go by sooooo much faster! Sorry you are disappointed in your weight loss. But it does sound like things are going well!

Janice-welcome as well! My husband and I actually talked briefly about getting bikes this year. We would not ride them on the road but would load them up and take them to a trail or two around here. We have heard some good things about them but have never been. Now whether we do this or not is another thing. We have two dogs- Part beagle and part pugl! Love them to death!!

Marg-We have been in the same boat!! I have been using my husband Ipad, which I do not like by the way. I have all of my favorites and he has nothing it is just not the same. I hear you loud and clear on the accountability thing!! That is what my JCC and I talked about this morning!

Nancy-I have a girlfriend that would just love your job!! Her yard is amazing! I have trouble getting my mind to relax after a meeting etc. I find it helpful to read an easy read, watch a little useless TV or check my face book. Things that don’t take much thought.

Kite welcome back!

I think I hit everyone! Sorry if I missed someone!
Gotta go!

Hello everyone1

Welcome to the new ones to the group! Janice--4-legged trainers are a great way to get started. I have been very lax over the winter and my dog is and will be very instrumental in getting back out walking. It's great company too. Eventually you will get to the point where you walk with the dog, and put him/her back in the house and go out for round 2 for yourself.

Linwalker--so you like zumba? I find dancing is wonderful. To me it doesn't seem like a workout, just learning a new art form. I belly dance (yes, everything still jiggles) and I have a fantastic instructor. No one seems to care...

Jen--good to hear the good news!

Nancy--I can't wait to be so close to goal. I've lost 93 (gained some back that I'm trying to re-lose) and have about 65 more to go. I am very happy about wearing a size 16 again--no more plus sizes! You keep going girl, as I'll need your strength and wisdom when I need to maintain.

Marg--speaking of maintaining--WOW, you are such and inspiration--I know I've said that before, but it still amazes me.

Angela--I though about you this weekend, when a youth group I'm involved with was having a tea party. Is that still going for you?

If there is anyone I forgot--please accept my (((HUG))).

Gotta go,
Donna
Dance like it hurts...
Love like you need the money...
Work like people are watching...

Well, I had my 4th WI today - down another 4.8 lbs
I was really surprised - but I chalk it all up to the extra walking!

I've even signed up with Ontario Walks for some of their spring sessions - the first one is April 17!
