After losing 130 lbs.. Jenny craig is no longer working for me. Not only am I not even staying the same, I am slowly gaining each week 1-2 lbs, and I am not doing anything different/doing as much exercise as I began with. Has anyone else had this problem? Did anyone else switch programs to finish the rest of their weight loss? I'm so fed up and really upset. There is NO REASON this should be happening.

Brittany - have you tried calorie cycling? It really does work! I'm not sure which calorie level you are eating, but, for example, if you are on 1200 calories, try doing 1500 calories every other day. Also, switch to the Planned Menus if you are doing Personalized. The Planned Menus are truer to the calorie count. Don't give up!

I hit a stall and even gained a few pounds... so I quit... and gained it all back.

Don't give up. Switch things around. Try some different workouts. Increase your calories, then decrease them. Do more cardio. Anything. Don't give up, though. I did, and now I'm back in my fat clothes.

I kept telling myself I'd try something else: Atkins, weight watchers, cabbage soup. I never did. I hope you'll stay with us.
Suffering the pain of regain. Back to square one - AGAIN! 165/156.4/135 First mini-goal: 150 by end of May!

Thanks! I am definitely not giving up, I am just seriously considering seeing an actual nutritionist to get a second opinion. I am not dissing Jenny, it got me where I am today, 130 lbs lighter, however, I do believe my body has gotten used to the program and food, and it no longer allows me to lose weight on it. Instead I maintain, gain a few, lose a few. I want to hear what a real nutritionist has to say. Maybe I need to be getting more protein because I work out so hard and so often (5-6 days a week including weights, cardio, spinning, and total body conditioning classes.) I know I am supposed to be at 1700 to lose, but I can barely get in all my food as it is at 1500 calories. Thats why I think a nutritionist will give me the tools to be eating more protein or something during my meals, so I am getting the calories my body needs after a workout, without eating so often throughout the day when I am not even hungry. My JCC said that she thinks the reason I am not losing now is because I am doing all my own breakfasts and snacks, and 2 lunches and 2 dinners on my own. Here is my take. For all of those people that lose weight eating their own meals that they make, how can my own meals be causing me not to lose weight? It's not like I am eating bacon cheeseburgers and fries on the days I eat my own meals. I am eating fish, shellfish, vegetables, lean turkey.. everything portioned, everything measured. It just makes no sense. Of course, that is my opinion. I just feel like reverting back to 7 days of all Jenny food is silly for me at this point. I should be able to lose weight without eating their food! It's not like there is some magic weight loss ingredient in it! AHH I guess this is me being frustrated. I am not looking down upon Jenny what-so-ever, I just want to make that clear. After all, it is what changed my life, and got me to lose 130 lbs. However, I just feel like it's time for a change for my body, and I am hoping a nutritionist will have the answers for me! Thanks for your support!

Here's what I've been doing since I hit a plateau that maybe is backwards from you.
I stalled for last 4 weeks I was playing with the same 2 lbs. So I continued the pre-planned menu's but modified 2 lunches and did my own breakfast. I also switched up my exercising. i was doing 5 30 min on treadmill and 5 (same days) using the elliptical. I switched it to doing 1 hour on treadmill using fat burn program and then some stretches/ab machine. Next day I did the Elliptical and did that back forth for 3 days then took one day off. That threw my system for a loop and though it's not my weigh in day, (I have 2 more days. I lost 2 lbs as of this morning) I won't record anything however until Sunday. I didn't do the meals on my own, instead I just modified 2 lunches Monday's and Wednesday's and I just took the buns off of the Turkey Burger and the Chicken Sand. I instead used my whole wheat sandwich thins Each lunch saved me calories and 1 starch each. I also added a ton of veggies to both lunches.
For all my soupatizers I go crazy with the veggies smile.gif I like to put that in a big thermos and keep on my desk to snack on whenever I get a little hungry. My JC consultant told me when you shake things like that up your body is thrown off and will begin metabolizing again. I also did what Jill told me to do and did a little calorie cycling with that. It all paid off so far and I've got 3 days left smile.gif

Congrats on your weight loss!!!

It sounds like you're paying close attention to what you're eating when it's non-Jenny Cragi food... Which makes it even more frustrating. I have 2 questions for you. You mention that everything is portioned and measured. What "standard" are you using for your "serving sizes?" Do you tally up you calories for the day?

If you're only getting in enough calories, have you thought of adding a nonfat greek yogurt to your day?
Have you condered doing JC food all day 5 days a week & then plannin 2 full days on your own?
Just tossing some ideas out there.

Keep us posted on your progress. You've worked too hard to give up now!

I don't think that changing programs is a bad thing, but make sure you are going to be OK with the change, and the new program allows foods you enjoy.

I am a big believer in weight loss hypnosis, and the hypnosis doctor even says it's OK to change programs but you should only do it after you have lost many pounds, which you have!

For me, I just have to be on some sort of program, and you may find that a nutritionist would be beneficial.

Alternating between WW and JC works for me. I just pick to program that will work best for me at that time!

I am a very SLOW loser, and usually maintain between losses. This progression has happened over a few years but goes something like this. There were other crazy diets along the way, but this is pretty much how it went:

198-180 on WW,
180-170 on JC,
170-160 on WW
160-145 on JC- got distracted from wedding, but now back on JC for the GOAL of 136ish or below...

Good luck with your decision, and let me know if I can help!
