I'm confused about soup. On the back of my personalized menu sheet it says "soupitizers and other FREE FOODS" are not included in your calorie calculations.
But, in the pocket guide it refers to soupitizers as limited and counting as 2 limited servings. So, which is it? Unlimited or limited?

I am new to this and didn't buy the soups because I thought I could make my own at a fraction of the cost using all the unlimited ingredients but now I'm not sure if I can eat unlimited or not.

Thanks for any feed back.

Both FREE and Limited FREE foods are not high caloric items, hence the "FREE" labelling BUT the items listed as Limited FREE we can only have 3 of per day - and the Soupatizers count as 2 Limited Frees, so use up 2 of those.

You are correct in your thinking that if you make soup out of strictly FREE items, you could eat that without using up any of your Limited Free servings. However, it does state 0-35 calories per servings, so realize if you eat a whole pot of soup, you may still be adding significant calories - but most people on the boards eat as much FREE foods, in as large a serving as they want - especially at the beginning when we may have hunger to deal with.

The soup that Jenny makes is not entirely Free.

This part is refering to the fact that any free foods or limited free foods are not included in your 1200, or 1500, etc calorie count. So you would be eating closer to 1300 calories when you're on a 1200 calorie diet, probably more depending on how much you eat.

Your free food calories don't matter because your body burns more calories digesting those foods then they actual contain. That's why they are free and you can eat as much as you want, so if you did make a soup out of free foods, nothing but free foods, you could eat it until you make yourself sick wink.gif

Too bad it doesn't burn more calories siginificantly enough to equal a workout.
