Hi Holly, and welcome!

You came to right place for support.....this forum is jumping with it.

I have found that when I am craving something to get busy, go for a walk, anything to get the craving off my mind....... and drink lots of water. Usually the craving will pass within 10 minutes.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you, and hope to see more of you on the forums.

HI!
New here too! Certainly not my first diet. I'm a yo-yo lifer. I'm also the only one in my household of 3 on JC. That means dinner for my hubby and 5 yr old is still a daily battle for me to face. I so want to dip into their food as I prepare it. It's like torture. My days are much easier as the only food I must face is my own. To make things easier my hubbby and I planned their menu on Sunday to coordinate my JC dinner as much as possible. We share the fresh veggies and salads. Then we walk together. Thank God my hubby is very supportive. The most he has ever carried as extra weight is 20lbs. He is very fit. I only have 110lbs to lose AGAIN! As an adult I've been 109 lbs to 260 lbs. I just want to see 150 now.

Welcome Lily!

I think thats great that your hubby is so supportive. Our hubby's sound alot alike......mine also gains very little, maybe 5 or 10 at the most and he runs off to the gym.

A little tip on the snacking while your cooking your families meals......eat your meal first before cooking, or if you want to wait and eat with them, eat your salad before you start cooking, and snack on some veggies while cooking. It really helps to have something on the ole tum tum before cooking, you are less likely to snack on the wrong things.

I am at 115 right now, so your goal is to lose a me!! Don't worry the cravings will pass..your body is adjusting to the new way of eating. I am at my goal weight and I still feel hungry from time to time, but I just ignore it and do some exercising or cleaning to take my mind off of it.

I am the only one on Jenny in my family but I must say I am lucky to have a supportive husband (he is probably being supportive for his own selfish reasons LOL) but none the less, he has been really good about all this and cooking for himself and our daughter. I do cook some meals for them but for the most part he does. I just cook my Jenny food and sit down and eat with them.

Sounds like you are ready for this, I love your attitude...that is the first step in making this program work for you! Good luck on your Journey!!

Hey girl!!!! JC works. I did it back in 2006 and lost 40lbs. I just quit before I really had a chance to reach my goal. JC can help with the food aspect, but often times we have triggers that we need to overcome as well. Once we face those, than we can finally stop the dieting and get on with the living. I am starting my journey again tomorrow, but this time, I have alot more information about myself and WHY I eat....

We are all here for you!

They're all right! We're all here for you and it's a day by day process. Just as if you're a recovering alcoholic, druggie, etc; we're recovering foodies. It takes work to learn the right foods, the right portions, exercises that REALLY work. It's not easy but at least we all have each other.

I'm also a newbie my goal is to lose about 90-100 pounds so we're on the same boat. Good luck!

Everything Happens for a reason, my reason is to become HEALTHIER!!

Hi! I am starting JC again. I, too, am a yo-yo life long dieter. Hoping to stick to it this time, and am looking forward to using this forum to help give me some motivation, and to share the journey. I am also the only one in my household of 4 on JC, so I am always tempted by food I am preparing for my hubby, my 11 year old, and my 20 month old. I have learned to snack on veggies or not at all, but it isn't easy!! I am also (finally) standing up for myself and vocalizing my need for junk food and my trigger foods to be kept out of the house! I used to think I could have them in the house and not eat them, but this generally ended in a binge. My ultimate weight loss goal is 100 pounds, but currently aiming to get below 200. Good luck!!

My goal is to lose 70 pounds. I wonder when this "I'm starving" feeling will stop showing up at the most inconvenient times...like when I'm awake! LOL

Any way...I joined the Metabolic Max program and I have to say, it is wonderful! I have only been using it for four days but my excitement makes the accountability factor not so bad at all. I actually surpassed my 10,000 steps goal and I feel like a superstar! Now, if I could only get this volumetrics thing down :-s

Well, good luck to you. It is totally doable and I'm right there with you! biggrin.gif

Welcome!

I'm doing JC by myself also with 3 kids and a husband. I cook them dinner, and then heat up mine. It's second nature now, but was hard at first.

Whatever veggie I'm having for the night is what everyone else is having also. I then just have to make an entree of some sort for them. We're all eating healthier. That's a good thing.

Hang in there, and you'll find your groove. I have my days of cravings also. I gave in to one small one yesterday, but told myself today that I had to be good. It's all about moderation now.

I hope you stick around for your journey!
