I'm not sure if you will actually get to read this but for the first time since I have been following your weight loss journey, I felt that your "new" posting regarding your desire to have ideas for an active vacation was something I could provide support to you. I have been on JC since Oct. 2010 and have lost 48 lbs in approximately 20 weeks. Like you, I am only 2 lbs away from my first goal weight but plan to readjust once I achieve my first milestone because I know that I would benefit from further weight loss.
So active vacations...I love active vacations. I actually lost weight on our 3 week vacation while doing JC as a result of being more active than I normally am when I am busy with my professional life. Picking resorts/destinations that have access to bikes allows you to explore your destination in a different way and be naturally active. A gym or fitness facility available on site or near by again provides you with access to arranging planned fitness time that you would typically do at home. Hiking adventures, many destinations offer packages where you can get out and explore the terrain while in the safety of a group. GOLF...great way to get exercise, have fun, spend time with your partner if you both golf and burn major calories...golf is one of the exercises that actually has one of the higher rates of calories/minute burn...but the catch is you need to walk the course. If you do not play golf currently, I highly recommend lessons while you are away as a form of exercise. Walking...love walking...if you plan to take your dog, as I take my dogs everywhere I travel no matter what destination I pick, walking them is a necessity and a natural form of exercise...but if you are "sans chien" then walking with your partner on the beach daily is such a romantic but great way to get some more natural exercise. Dancing, pick a destination where you can go dancing at night...dancing is so much fun and again results in a nautral form of exercise...plus you get to dress up and when I dress up, I feel so great...I don't even think about food or drinks...plus alcohol is dehydrating...drinking sparkling water while dancing is much better for you and you wake up the next day feeling so great about yourself!
Well, I think I have provided a few ideas for you to consider and I wish you the best in your continued weight loss journey while you balance it alongside your personal and professional life.
Warmest regards,
