SURVIVOR WEIGHT LOSS ONLINE CHALLENGE - March 6 start

This group is a fun way to participate in a fitness challenge. Anyone is welcome to join at anytime. Depending on the number of people interested, we will break up into 2 teams - RED and BLUE. (If we have a lot of interest, we may choose to do more teams). Organizing a challenge like this helps to keep me accountable and active in our weight loss community.

I love the show "SURVIVOR" and while there will be no voting anyone off or redemption island, I couldn't not include it in the title since the new season just started! (And yes, "Biggest Loser" is more appropriately named, but it is used a lot and wanted to do something a little different with a twist!)

DESCRIPTION:
Each challenge will last for 8 weeks, the first one beginning SUNDAY MARCH 6 and ending on April 30. I will group everyone into teams and let you know which team you will participant on. Each team will have a separate thread so that you can encourage and support one another.

WHAT TO DO:
  • If you are interested in participating, please post on this thread the following information by Saturday March 5:
  • User name / real name (optional)
  • Weigh-in day
  • Current weight (as of last weigh-in)
  • On your weigh-in day each week, post your weight loss progress (+ / -) on your team's message board.
  • I will post each team's collective progress every Sunday by 5pm Pacific time. Make sure to check in and encourage one another - there will also be weekly SURVIVOR CHALLENGES that can boost your team's collective weight loss!


More instructions on team threads, weekly Survivor Challenges, and final team roster will be posted on March 6.

Please include any questions and thoughts on how to make this challenge fun and entertaining on this thread as well. It will help me think through the whole process to make it successful and motivational for everyone!

I should mention, (maybe will clear up some confusion) that the team that has the largest collective weight loss as a team will be the "winner". I probably should have put that in the explanation.

Great to have you Darby! It'll be a lot of fun. I used to participate in the WW challenges like this on their boards. It provides a lot of fun comraderie, friendship, motivation and accountability.

Hey everyone! Sorry for being a little MIA this week...I was traveling for work and didn't get an opportunity to get online.

I will be putting together the teams tonight, and will post tomorrow who is on what team. I'm so excited to get started! Our Week 1 mini-challenge will also be posted.

If you have a new WI weight to start off with, let me know, otherwise I will use what you have posted.

Remember, the team that collectively loses the most weight at the end of the challenge is the winner!
