I'm a vegetarian restarted beginning of the new year. I need some serious tips to help me not get bored with the food. Anything and everything you can tell me about what you add to our meals to make them interesting will help. I like pizza but am already over it! What can I add to make the pizzas taste better?!?!! I am used to sauce and yumminess!

I like to saute shallots or onions and mushrooms in Pam. Sometimes I throw in spinach too sometimes. I've seen elsewhere on the boards that you can have 35 cal of anything as 1 limited free item (you can have up to 3 a day). So you could add some 1 Tbs grated parmesan (22 cal) to add some extra flavor.

For the mac and cheese I usually add broccoli and 1/4 oz cheese (you have to add 1/2 meat serving to it). Those are my few little tips.

Two of our very successful JCers put together a number of recipes (not all vegetarian but I'm sure you'll find some of the foods you do eat on these lists). Check them out - they're fabulous. :)

Thanks for sharing Phyllis!
I am jumping in here too for veggie ideas / tips / recipes
I have had good success on program twice before, but both times have quit because of limited veggie options
Susan, I had not thought of adding to the mac and cheese, that's one of my favourites!
Maybe I will try adding some veggie meat crumbles to it...

I've been on the program for ONE WEEK and I am loving it. I love that protein isn't something that I need to think about-- heck, there are 10g of protein in just the Anytime bars!! I don't mind the repetition, but I'm looking for some 'free soup' options to get me through. I loved the vegetable minestrone soupetizer, but I want to be able to make something on my own. It's nice to see some other veggies here! Hooray for Jenny Vegs!
