Next, and I say this lovingly, don't set yourself up! By drawing a line in the sand of 40 pounds in 4 months, it appears an "all or nothing" approach. You did not gain the weight overnight, so it is not going to come off overnight. The Biggest Loser sets a stage of which I don't approve. Those contestants spend all day, every day, with trainers who push them beyond their limits. Consistently losing those large amounts of weight is not only unrealistic, it is unhealthy. Your body needs time to adjust to the loss. Also, one thing you don't see much of on TBL is the reality of the skin left behind. I lost 119 pounds in 2004. I still have skin on my stomach, my upper arms and my thighs. Because of my age, it won't go away unless I do elective surgery, which is not going to happen. For you, your skin has a lot of elasticity mine does not have, so you will be able to trim and tone your muscles.
Good luck to you. Ten pounds a month is probably a bit aggressive, but you will be much closer to the target after 4 months! Good luck to you. If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know.
LOVE, JILL
