So, I'm an 18 year old Senior, and I'm graduating in a little less than 4 months. I really wish to lose a total of 40 pounds, i currently way 174 pounds. I wish i could lose 40 pounds in 4 months, but if not by then, at least by the middle of summer. I've struggled with my weight for as long as i can remember, and i have a hard time finding motivation and tend to give up. If anyone is in the same boat as me, totally come a talk to me! I could use a friend coming through a similar thing! And i could also use motivation! Thanks!
I'm starting Jenny Craig this Tuesday!

Depending upon your most recent lifestyle, you could experience a large drop the first week (provided you follow the program to a tee). When I say a "large drop," it won't be like on The Biggest Loser, so don't expect a 10-12 pound weight loss. Large around here is 5 pounds; this will happen for the first week, followed by a lower loss thereafter.

Next, and I say this lovingly, don't set yourself up! By drawing a line in the sand of 40 pounds in 4 months, it appears an "all or nothing" approach. You did not gain the weight overnight, so it is not going to come off overnight. The Biggest Loser sets a stage of which I don't approve. Those contestants spend all day, every day, with trainers who push them beyond their limits. Consistently losing those large amounts of weight is not only unrealistic, it is unhealthy. Your body needs time to adjust to the loss. Also, one thing you don't see much of on TBL is the reality of the skin left behind. I lost 119 pounds in 2004. I still have skin on my stomach, my upper arms and my thighs. Because of my age, it won't go away unless I do elective surgery, which is not going to happen. For you, your skin has a lot of elasticity mine does not have, so you will be able to trim and tone your muscles.

Good luck to you. Ten pounds a month is probably a bit aggressive, but you will be much closer to the target after 4 months! Good luck to you. If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know.

LOVE, JILL
