Hello!

There was always a thread here where you could come to unload or woohoo or get support, and I wondered if any of you would like to restart something like that for the 100+ forum?

a little about me: I am a returning member that used to post in this forum regularly - and while I no longer have 100 lbs to lose this time around, this is where I feel at home! I lost 80 lbs last time around, did not make it all the way to goal but was feeling great. I maintained mostly for a couple of years - but in 2010 gained almost 30 back! Yuck. blink.gif So I have set a new goal to lose 50 lbs and just had my 3rd WI, down 7 lbs so far.

I also got the armband thingy and like having the constant feedback.

those of us in this forum know that our journey will not be quick and we have many milestones ahead. Want to walk along the road together? biggrin.gif
Blessings,

Ladybug

Hello! My name is Jessica, I am 28, and I am in my 2nd week on the program. I live in Springfield, MO. I am a newlywed. AND I am ready to put the weight issues in the past.

I have about 100-120lbs to lose, just depending on how far I want to go. This has been easier than I thought. I've been reading Sara Rue's blogs and watching her video posts which are very encouraging to me. I LOVE the food. I am looking for support and encouragement throughout the process. I love seeing success stories, and I hope to inspire other people on here someday too!

YAY for the journey!

A sincere welcome to both of you! So many good wishes for your success on Jenny, too! Just work the program as outlined, with the help of your JC consultant, and results will follow. Glad you both are here! smile.gif

Hi Jess, thanks for the reminder about Sara Rue, I totally forgot about her blogs/videos! will have a boo at them this weekend.

Hello Joan, thanks for the welcome and the good wishes, back at ya with those!

I managed to convince myself to go to Curves today, so this weekend is off to a good start. I find time off more challenging than workdays (less structure I suppose). cool.gif

Hi there! I just finished my 4th week on the program and am loving it! To my surprise, the food is really good. I have just started fitting 30 minutes of walking 3 times a week into my schedule and I feel great. I have between 100-115 lbs. to lose, and have been overweight all my life. I will be turning 40 in April, and am not looking forward to it. For some reason though, this fear of 40 is kicking my butt into getting healthier. I finally realize that I cannot live my life like this anymore after trying diet after diet. I have also heard of so many people who are around the age of 40 who have had strokes or heart attacks. I think the fact that I am so overweight, turning 40, and know there could be very serious health consequences, is really scaring the crap out of me. So, I consider JC my "mid-life" crisis. A good mid-life crisis, though. I have been able so far to avoid falling back in the same eating patterns as before JC. Actually, I have surprised myself at my determination to make my entry into the 40's a fabulous one. I am so glad I have you all here to lean on!

Hi Kari & Lora!
Yes the camera can be a great motivator for change wink.gif I too love the food (though loving food isn't exactly a new thing for me, if you know what I mean lol).

A friend found the greatest thing at a garge sale and bought it for me - it is a case of 16 cassete tapes titled "Lifestyle Counselling Program" produced by jenny craig and has....get this.....

Jenny Craig herself speaking on them!!! She does some of the narration herself! I am in awe. I think they may be from the 80s. If you like I will share tips from them?

I listened to the one on binge eating tonight. She said "You don't have to be perfect to be successful" and that everyone, even those without a weight problem, experience "uncontrolled eating experiences".

I made up a little slogan from it "Don't allow guilt over eating, keep you overeating!"

Blessings

What a great group this is and I would love to join. I am a returning JC client and have been using the bodymedia device since last Wednesday. I absolutely love it and find it makes me more accountable to me, much more than keeping any other food log has done. I have approx. 100 lbs to lose and I know it will take time. Every time I download from my bodymedia, I also check in with the JC community forums. Keeps me feeling more connected between consultations.

Health issues, both mental and physical, have brought me back with a renewed determination to be healthy enough to enjoy my grandchildren, not to mention just liking myself.

I have been avoiding pictures, just one of the ways my weight has taken control of my life. I love scrapbooking and it is not a good sign when I stop taking pictures.

>Kathryn
Auburn, Washington
SW - 251
CW - 235
Goal - I am concentrating on 5% at a time rather than get caught up in the total lbs so much. I have lost my first 5% in the past two months and am settling in with the improved health feelings at each 5%.

Howdy Kate!
That is a bucket list item on my list for sure - to be ok with having my picture taken.

I do the exact same as you, while downloading data, I surf on here

Lora- meant to say - what a great midlife crisis you picked!

OK - I listened to anotherof the JC cassettes, this one on the other kind of overeating they identify - grazing. Jenny warns about dangerous feelings, places, people, and food and wants us to identify them and identify behaviour strategies to use instead of eating. She said "It is not enough just to think differently, we must also behave differently too".

So happy with my MM armband, down 2.8 at WI today - so pleased!
Blessings,

Ladybug

Hello Everyone! I have been doing JC for about a year and a half. I joined Summer of 2009, lost 50 lbs, but have gradually gained almost all of it back. All I know to do is keep going to JC and not let go even farther since about six years ago I joined JC and lost 40 lbs and then stopped AND stopped going to JC. I know I can lose weight - in my 20s I lost 165 lbs on Nustri-System. I am determined to focus and stop spinning my wheels. I just got Lisa Spangle's book 100 Days of Weight Loss and I am walking more and going back to the gym but thought it would help to have people who understand what a long-term journey this is. I want to lose 100 lbs. Looking for some virtual walking-buddies - tis a long road. Thanks for being there...Nancy
Jessica - my family is in Springfield, MO - lovely area.

Just popped in to say that I also ordered the "100 days" book - thought it would come in this week but maybe tomorrow. Nancy - please share any tidbits from that with us, if not too personal tongue.gif

Hey Kari, glad you are enjoying the cassettes with me - I was blown away when she showed up with them!

This program is all about the journey, and is taking us to slimville biggrin.gif

Good Morning! May I join in this wonderful group?
My name is Martha and I have been on jc since Jan of 2007! I started at 429 lbs, lost down to 304 and then started back up and last wi was at 348. It is easy to get mad at myself for doing this but I knew going in this was a journey and I would have many bumps in the road. I never left jc because I am too afraid if I did I would gain it all back and I am not going there. I have more energy and a much more active life with the weight loss and I do not plan to ever become a house bound couch potato again.
I turned a corner just this week by finding my mojo again to stay on plan. I have 3 days behind me of 100% success. I am on a weight loss trend according to my bodymedia.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all better. Where do you all live? I am in Lansing, MI...frigid, snowy Michigan!!

Have a great day.
Martha

P.S. I also like the tips from the jc cassettes. Keep them coming Ladybug.

Hello everyone, happy Sunday! Please check in on your WI days, want to know how you are all doing! smile.gif

Hi Marthaann! I meant to respond to you on another thread about the MM display - there is a watch type strap you can buy for it (not one of our free ones unfortunately) so you can wear it like a watch instead of clipping it on somewhere. That is what I ordered as well as large replacement armbands. My MM came with a medium and I have been able to wear it, but it is as wide as I can make it and would prefer to have a larger band for it. I am finding it so gret to have, keeps me very accountable and just plain knowledgeable about how my day, or week is going! Love it.

The cassette I have in right now is to do with what contributes to us being "overfat". There is a heredity component for many of us - not just that we over eat - but more that overeating for us may mean less calories than for others, or even the average person. Everyones metabolism is different, and we may be on the low end, so we need to have a 3 pronged approach: exercise to boost our calorie burn, exercise to strengthen muscles so our resting metabolism is also boosted, watch what and when we eat.

My "100 Days" book did come on Friday, and today or tomorrow will be day one for me. There is an excellant free companion workbook/journal that can downloaded from the author's website, and a challenge to join that will help support your 100 days. I want to print off the journal so i have it to start off with.
Blessings,

Ladybug

Hello Everyone:
I can really relate to what Martha said about how easy it is to get mad at yourself for not doing well. I didn't get weighed for weeks but I got weighed on Saturday and it was 281.2. I have gained almost all of my weight back but I did NOT gain ALL of it back and I am determined to be less of a woman this saturday. The very first day of the 100 days of weight loss book talks about how you write your own story, making up your own ending and changing your thinking from "I always gain the weight back" or some other negative predictor based on your past, that you take control of now and your future by saying I USED to (insert negative behavior) BUT NOW I (insert new behavior). I used to try to go it alone, but now I am seeking out fellow Jenny-Craig-ers who also deal with this issue on a daily (hourly, some days) basis. Happy Valentines Day to all! By the way, I live in New York. Live on Long Island and work in Manhattan. Speaking of which, time to get back to work........Nancy

First big challenge while I am staying with my grandkids the next few days while their parents go skiing. Taking my Jenny Craig menu, food and body media device to keep track of additional exercise.

Hello all!

at my WI to day I lost....drumroll please...3.4 lbs! blink.gif That is a lot for me in one week - I really do think the MM device is making a real difference for me - not that our body will always do what the numbers say it should.

And that reminded me of day 2 in the 100 days book (I am on day 3 today). The writer drew a distinction between being "interested" in losing weight or being "commited" to losing weight. (Beluga recently posted a weightloss minute on this same subject by the same author - Linda Spangle http://www.jennycrai...p?...026567&hl=). Anyways, one of the contrasts is "need to see results in order to stay motivated" (interested) as opposed to "keep motivated and assume results will follow"(committed). I certainly see where the lack, or slow down of progress has made me lose heart, and I am determined to not let it happen again!

To put that into the day 1 terms that NancyTG posted : I USED to lose motivation when the scale slowed, BUT NOW I trust the results to follow when I stay motivated and on plan!

Nanakate - maybe it will be alright, as the grandkids may be a boost to activity - just remember whatever they are eating is "NOT MY FOOD!" tongue.gif

Blessings

Hello all, WI is tomorrow and hoping the armband trend continues! I have a rebounder (mini trampoline) and I have been using it for a few minutes a couple times a day as well as my regular activity stuff. I think I am beginning to see an increase in energy.

I am on Day 9 of the "100 days of weightloss" book and it sure does keep your focus on your program! I credit the message "protect your plan" for helping me deal with no brekkie the other day & decided on the reduced fat Banana choc chip loaf from Starbucks. Well, they were out! No good choices there really, so went with the lemon cranberry scone, asked that they cut it in 1/2, and then I tossed 1/2 in the garbage before I left - major victory for me to allow myself to waste food!! And I thoroughly enjoyed my 1/2 scone guilt free. smile.gif

Great WI Pinky!

Hope you all are having a great Jenny week!
Blessings,

Ladybug

Thank you for being so welcoming, Ladybug :-) Congrats on your loss!!!!! Way to go!!!!

I'm back home after almost a week with my grandkids and granpuppies. So much love and so much activity that I lost 1.8 lbs!!!!! I was proud of myself and did very well while away from home, with my granddaughter's help, of course. She said she loves me just the way I am and thinks I am perfect! I told her to keep loving me and I would get healthy and be there for her for a long time. She trusted me with some things she doesn't like to discuss with her mom about things happening at school. Breaks my heart to see her suffering but fills my heart when she confides in me :-)

Snow, snow, snow, ice, ice ice here in the northwest today--nothing like what the rest of the country has been fighting this winter but it shuts everything down here in the Seattle area. I live south of Seattle in Auburn, Washington.

My activity today will be to do some laundry, vacuum the kitty litter in my cat's bathroom, the hall and living room. My friend took very good care of my Nina but she doesn't clean up the kitty litter that scatters all thru my little house.
