smile.gif Hi Everyone,

Well I went to the doctor yesterday and he confirmed that I do have Benign Paroxsysmal and it appears that the right ear is the worst. There are crystals in your inner ear that can break off and start rolling around causing the sense of motion. It can clear up over time and there are exercises I can do. I just have to remember that the sense of dizziness will fade if I just give my body time to readjust and settle.

Ok so I made a pact with myself that once I knew what was going on I would move forward. So yesterday afternoon I made a call to the JC center and will go in for a consultation this morning to determine my weight on the JC scales. I plan to start with the pre planned menu 3 and I am committed to the following course of action for the next 8 days; eat the JC menu as planned, log my foods in the MM Band, exercise at the gym twice a week and continue my daily walking. Ultimately I want my goal weight of 125 and I can get there with patience & perseverance. So that is the plan

Its raining here in the Metro DC area and they are calling for high winds this afternoon. At least it is not snow.

Three cheers for Fridays!!
I am treating myself to a massage today at 2:oo!! I took the container of change into the bank and it had $88 in it! My husband throws his change in it, so happy that he does that! biggrin.gif
Had a nice evening with friends last night. I DID NOT EAY ANYTHING while I was there and I only had one Select 55 beer with a lime!
Tonight I am thinking about going to the gym for a 5:30 Body Pump class. It is a newer class that I would like to try. I have never been to the gym on a Friday night. The class has a limit so if it is not full I will try it. It is an hour long, no break, lifting weights on a bar, set to music. People are loving it. We will see.
Hubby and I are invited to a friends house for burgers and chips. This is funny......he is a farmer and they are butchering a cow today. So it will be FRESH hamburger!! ohmy.gif Not so sure how this will go! But hubby would like to go and hang out with friends! Planning on eating before I go!! smile.gif

I have a Saturday of nothing planned. We are going out tomorrow night with friends, a local bar is having a band, but that is it for Saturday. Should be fun. But I am skipping my workout to stay home and clean, clean, clean!! I have been so busy on the weekends that I have not had time to do a super, duper cleaning jobs in weeks!! angry.gif I have only been able to do, what I call a, surface cleaning!! So, in a very strange, kinda way, am looking sooooooo forward to this!! rolleyes.gif Really, I am!!

Hi All!

WI this morning up 2.6#. Ugh!!! Yes it's my fault. I think the lastest snow just did me in, I ended up eating popcorn, (not JC popcorn), and popchips and some cookies yesterday. My JCC said it's clearly weather related, since last week all her clients did much better. Now she is bummed because she realizes that her clients will probably be back up this week. I think alot of mine is salt since I can feel it in my fingers. I feel aweful today. Apparently I just don't have it in me to eat crap anymore, even so called good crap. I can't beleive I ever found this comforting. I want to remember this aweful feeling, so the next time I think it's ok I'll remember the feeling of the after effects of all the salt. I really need to buckle down this week since I have a 5k next Sat morning.

Hope you are feeling better today. I've never heard of this problem before. I know that my sister lost 75% of her hearing years ago when her stapes, anvil and stirrup bones fused together. They went in and replaced her stapes bone. During the surgery, she was awake, she moved and knocked the fluid out of her ear. She said she felt like she was spining in violent circles and was very sick. They finally got her knocked out replaced the fluid and her hearing was restored. When they did her 2nd ear a couple of years later needless to say the first thing her doctor said was he wasn't going to let her be awake this time. So perhaps if your crystals don't dissovle they could take them out and replace the fluid, but make sure they knock you out.

Glad to hear everyone else is doing pretty well. Vickie, I love massages, I may get some energy work and massage this weekend. It is good to have a friend who is a massage therapist. I'm going to call to make an accupunture appointment today. Little nervous, but I know how much the energy work helps. Plus I'll just close my eyes. Vickie drink lots of water after your massages to flush out the toxins.

Need to do my walking dvd today. Foot is feeling much better some how I wrenched it last Sat night when I stood up and a couple bones rubbed each other and were causing lots of pain. They seem to have gone back in place and the pain is gone so I'll get myself moving again. Have a great weekend.

Ugh. I am sick. I have strep.

I felt icky Thurs night (throat hurt) and on Friday I was icky, but I'm like --- it will go away...well, ear started hurting too (all on one side)...we were supposed to go to a party today (my neice's son turned 1 year old) and I thought that you know, if I have strep, I shouldn't go...so I headed to the Walgreen's clinic last night at 6:30...Yup. Strep. On antibiotics. Niece doesn't even want any of us there, so the kids are NOT happy, as they had nothing planned with friends and I won't let them invite anyone over until I've been on antibiotics for 24 hours and I get all the house stuff disinfected (wash all sheets, pillowcases, etc).

Not sure when the arm band will get here -- they told me about a week and I ordered it Wed. But, for good or ill, tomorrow is official start day of "arm band" tracking. I've let myself not do well this week --- I'm didn't feel good and didn't care, to be honest. The 'bad' thing is that I'll gain a few before the armband if I let this go. Anyway, hubby is starting back on his P90X tomorrow (he takes breaks from the routines and just rides a stationary bike 3x per week and then starts back on it)...so, while he really is a horrible support for me (he doesn't get that either -- he thinks he's really supportive), starting tomorrow, he is back on his P90X meal plan and I'll do my JC/higher protein meal plan...he'll not be snacking and, yes, it IS easier when there is someone else in the house watching what they eat.

So, no more picks off the kids plate or while making their meals for me. No more eating night eating except my one snack. That is my goal for this week.

Jen - sorry to hear that you are sick --hope you were able to get some much needed rest this weekend.

Donna -- glad to 'see' you --sure the longer days will help you find more time for walking.

Nancy - sorry your weigh in was up -and I am sure a lot of it was just water retention from the saltier snacks

Angela -- glad the scale is headed back down for you and sounds like you are having fun being able to get out of the house a bit more.

Vicky -- hope you had a good cleaning day and enjoyed your night out with friends.

Pattylyne -- glad you were able to get to the Dr's and hope things return to normal for you

As for me the day was sunnier than predicted so made my walks more pleasant -- did not get any long walks in but 3 short ones -- also finally got the cans and bottles to the recycling center it has been on my weekend list for the last month or two! took 6 kitchen garbage bags in the back of the car.

Well ready to call it a day -- wishing everyone a relaxing peaceful Sunday.

Jen - Being sick will make you retain water, so dont let the scale bug you so much. Dont even step on the darn thing!

Marg - That is a LOT of cans!

Nancy - Salt seems to make me puff up too. Glad to hear your foot is getting better!

Vickie - Sometimes its really nice to have a day with nothing planned. My problem was having too many of those!

Pattylynne - I'm glad the doctor figured out what was wrong, and I hope it clears up quick!

Donna - Supposedly Vancouver got nearly 3" of snow, but our area only had 1/2". Lots of people complained about the schools being closed, but the news kept saying we'd get a bunch more and it never really happened.

The weather has been super chilly the last few days, but it must be warm-ish out right now because we are getting rain. The news says it'll turn into snow tonight, but I am not liking their track record on snow predictions and will reserve judgement until I actually SEE the white stuff falling on us.

I have no parties this weekend, so I'm feeling kinda bored. I haven't heard from the hostess who is having a party next weekend, except that a common friend let me know her dad died on Thursday. I sent her a card with a tea sample tucked inside. Other than that, I'm not sure what would be an appropriate thing to do or a good time to do it as far as asking if the party is still on or not. Maybe having a few friends over for a tea party would cheer her up, or maybe not. I wish I knew. I dont want to do anything insensitive. If this one falls thru, I dont have another one scheduled until March 20th!

smile.gif Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note I am back at work after being off for a week and a half. Yeah!! I'm feeling rested though I am still experiencing the dizziness when I lie down. As my body settles the dizziness disappears and before I get up in the morning I make sure that I am stable.

Had a good weekend sticking to the program and was 100% on program for Saturday & Sunday for food, exercise and MM Band. On Friday evening I discarded my stash of non Jenny snacks to make it easier for myself. Also I made sure that any non Jenny items were put up top so that I would have to get out the step ladder to reach them. I know myself all to well and its easier for me to pitch the temptation or place them out of reach.

Ok so the real challenge begins staying on program and working full time. My work triggers are different in that they involve people, time deadlines and commutes so I have decided to start out on a confident note and say I am ready for the challenge. I decided to give my body another week to stablilize and catch up on work so I will start up with the personal trainer next week.

Working a short day today and heading home around noon to get ready to head to the Kid Rock Concert. Looking forward to it. We will be staying over night and coming home sometime Tuesday!!

Patty-Glad you are back to work!!

Angela-what thoughtfulness in sending your friends some tea items. I am sure she will need them to relax herself during this difficult time.

Jen- sorry to hear about the weight gain. That is never fun and is hard to see on the scale as well.

Marg-I had a great time with friends Saturday night and Friday night.

My husband and I have such a fun group of friends. Saturday we went to local bar to hear a wonderfully, fun band called Midlife Crisis!! They are from the Madison Wisconsin area, they came to good ol’ northern Illinois to a town of roughly 500 people!!

I went to the gym Friday night to try the Body Pump class, but it was full. Like I stated last week, you had to sign up for the class, so I didn’t want to “take” someone’s spot. There were about three of us that couldn’t get in. So there we all were running on the treadmills.

Not working out tonight, of course, I won’t be around but I should be able to make it to class Tuesday evening.

Not a stellar weekend for eating or working out. I did do a lot of dancing Saturday night. I didn’t wear my MM band. I sometimes don’t want people to see it through my clothes and this was one of those times!

Emerald_Green - hi, it has been quite awhile since I have posted but when I saw your name from the way back when days I just had to drop a note to you to say two things: everyone here should know what an extremely positive attitude you have . Always a kind word of encouragement for any struggling, just a really lovely lady.

Number two, I wanted to tell you that I have been on JC for two years this month starting at 398lbs and I have now lost 200lbs! Still got 80 to go, not sure if I will make it but trying ..

The Fitness Threads have gone somewhat silent this June but your success deserves a round of applause. Congratulations and you are an awesome inspiration. Don't give up and keep working the program and you will lose the remaining 80 lbs.

Also I do agree with you Emerald Green is wonderful positive person. Miss you Angela and I hope that you are enjoying the summer.
