How Much Have You Spent???

Have any of you thought about what you've spent so far on this journey to weight loss. Well today as I sit here waiting for the snow and listen to Call of the Wild for the millionth time I added up some of what I've spent in the past 2 months. During the 8 weeks with Jenny Craig - roughly $800 for the food. (Guess I would have had to eat something - but I'm adding this up anyway). Then the wii cost $300. Six games for that at about $40 a piece. Then $150 for the Media Fit gadget that should arrive today. The bands and the exercise ball that I never really use cost about $20 each. There is probably a lot more that does not come readily to mind - but for now the grand total is $1560. If I divide that by each of the 15 pounds I've lost so far - each pound cost $104.
Just Thinking.....

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

It doesnt do any good for me to add up the cost, I am going to do this no matter the cost. The way I see it is I was spending at least this much before on junky funky food that was killing me......so at least I am spending my money on healthy food now that will help me live the life I want to live.......and that is PRICELESS indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>Kathryn
Auburn, Washington
SW - 251
CW - 235
Goal - I am concentrating on 5% at a time rather than get caught up in the total lbs so much. I have lost my first 5% in the past two months and am settling in with the improved health feelings at each 5%.

I would have spent far more in restaurant dinners, starbucks every morning and McDonalds at lunch, for that I know without a shadow of a doubt.

But the thing is, you made some choices such as paying for the Wii programs, the equipment you're not using, etc. It's a good choice but you really can't "blame" the JC plan for that.
However, I agree, that I probably would have spent more money on junk food, "stuff" that I probably wouldn't have used and here's the other thing. Even with an EXCELLENT health insurance plan, I was spending hundreds of dollars each month of medicine. Now, I don't have those bills anymore. And those costs would have not only been for life, but they probably would have increased as my extra weight caused more health issues as I age.
So in the long run, don't think of it as a cost. Think of it as an investment. Just like you build equity in your home, you're losing weight and building equity in your future and saving money on doctors and medicines that would likely be caused by possible poor health from the extra weight.
I'm just sayin'...
