Well, congrats on getting that decision made. I am sure you will be happy with your choice. As long as you do what they tell you, you will lose the weight.

Hi I am new to JC also two days in and I really need all the support I can get. I just got selected for a two week jury duty and its been difficult getting all the food in during the day. Dont think the judge would appreciate me taking out a everyday bar and apple in the middle of court. So therefore I am starving when I get out. I am hungry anyway still getting used to the restricted calorie diet. I live in the southern NH area and would really like some new buddies.

Hi, Kelley!
I am new to JC as well! Actually...not! I have just come back to Jenny Craig, as I fell away from the plan before getting to my ideal weight. I am back and am going to use all the tools provided including this to be sure that I am doing everything I can to stick to it and be as successful as "reddyrawks" and "Blessed4Life2" have been! (Way to go, Ladies!)
Kelley, and "jay66", let's do it!!
BTW, it is -26 degrees today where I am. I live about 70 miles from the Canadian border in the Midwest....lots of snow and lots of days stuck inside!
I look forward to connecting with you!

I am brand new here also. Not quite 40, but I will be in a few months, so that's close enough right? lol I have tried other weight loss plans/groups and so far nothing has worked. I really hope that JC will be different. I have been battling this weight far too long! I tried to take it off last year, before my wedding and was only able to drop 10 lbs. in six months. I was very discouraged. I want to get back to where I was when my husband & I met nearly five years ago (if not in better shape than that). He really deserves a healthier, happier me & so do I! smile.gif

Hello, everyone! Just finished my first day back to JC. I was a member 10 years ago and lost 80+ pounds smile.gif , but life and going back to my old way of eating have brought me back with a goal of losing another 75 pounds. I made the mistake of not staying with JC to learn the maintenance or what I guess is now known as MOMO, but I still kept the weight off for over 5 years. Then gradually my weight crept up on me, so here I am....again. My big struggle (besides eating 6 times a day) is that I am a VERY picky eater and physically cannot force myself to eat someting I don't like. So, I struggle with keeping variety...but I KNOW the program works, so I AM determined! I am 48 years old and am currently having back problems (which I know my added weight aggravates), so exercise will be a challenge as well. I think I will see if my back can handle the treadmill and/or stationary bike....any exercise at all will be an improvement for me.

Good Luck to everyone! It DOES work!

Hi rrhea!

I just joined for the first time & am so happy to hear a previous success story. I do know how life can get to you & bring the weight back on, but I'm sure if you were successful once you will do it again! I'm with you on the increased meals & the choices. It's been kind of weird for me to get used to eating every few hours & I'm finding that some of the meals I have aren't the greatest. One the other hand, I have found a few that I really like. My biggest challenge is getting motivated to exercise & staying away from the food my family is eating. I just remind myself of my goal & it does help. I also have back issues & recently developed a pain in my left foot. This hinders me when trying to walk, so I am limited in available exercise. I am going to dust off my yoga & pilates DVDs. I don't know if yoga or pilates would work for you with back trouble, but it's a thought.

Good luck & welcome back to JC!
Patty

Hello, Patty, and welcome to you!

Thank you for the exercise ideas! I have never tried Yoga or Pilates. I WILL be checking into both of these to see if either (or both) will work for me. I'll let you know. I guess I am lucky (??) that it is only my husband and I at home. He is joining me on my weight loss journey, though he is not joining JC, so having to cook for others and limit myself is not an issue. I can imagine how hard that would be.

Thank you for the warm welcome Roberta! You are very welcome for the exercise ideas. I hope they work for you. That is great that your husband is supporting you by joining in. smile.gif
My difficulties lie in the fact that I have two teenagers who eat a lot and continuously! My husband is a good ol' country boy, who loves all the fattening home cooking that I really should not be eating. That was part of my downfall over the past five years since I've known him. He somehow has not gained an ounce eating all that stuff. dry.gif I found it interesting that Cracker Barrel (his favorite restaurant) is not in the dining out guide! lol
I tried losing weight for our wedding last year, but wasn't very successful, so I knew I really needed to get serious. The older I get, the more risk I have for health issues, so here I am. I have found more support here in just a week than I have ever gotten before. smile.gif

Well, my first weigh-in was today & I've lost 2.6 pounds. I'm so happy! I have decided to challenge myself to lose the same or more next week. I just hope I'm not setting myself up for disappointment. I hit the pool this afternoon & got a few laps in. It was a little chilly at first (72 degrees), but once I started moving it didn't seem so bad. smile.gif

Well, I had my first weigh-in and I lost 3.6 pounds smile.gif I'm having a lumbar epidural on Thursday, so I'm hoping to start integrating more activity into my day. My big challenge is finding enough food entrees that I like....I found several that I won't be able to eat.

Have a Great Week, Everyone!

Thank you! As far as the snow bank... been there done that! I grew up in Michigan. I braved the "chilly" pool with my swim suit, my husband (who grew up in Orlando) had to put on his wet suit to go in! LOL

Thanks Roberta! I'm finding willpower I didn't know I had!! As for the exercise, my JC consultant told me to start taking a multivitamin daily. I am taking Women's One a Day Active (orange box with green writing) & B12 & my energy has really improved. I have been in the pool every day this week. I walked my dogs for 20 minutes yesterday, then hit my treadmill for another 20. My foot never bothered me (until later). I am using the Metabolic Max & it said I did over 10,000 steps yesterday (not including my swimming). I was pretty impressed with that. Unfortunately today I have to go to work, but if I get a chance I'm going to get a walk in. smile.gif
Congratulations on your loss! That's great!! I hope all goes well for you on Thursday!

Thanks for the kind words, Melissa & Patty! smile.gif Wow, Patty, it sounds like you're doing great with your activity and exercise! I can't wait until I can get some activity in.... hopefully by Monday! I love to drink iced tea, but I'm having trouble finding a good sweetener. Any ideas? I've pretty much tried all the usuals.
