I just started on Wednesday with the Metabolic Max Program and my armband. I LOVE IT! The information it provides is awesome and it keeps me so "in the program". If you haven't thought about it, please do!

For a Jenny Life Member it was $149.99. If you go to Bodymedia.com it selles for $200. Then of course they have tons of accessaries. Love it though.

Pricing varies depending on which Jenny program level you are at; so ask your JCC. Check out the info on the device itself at Body Media's website at www.bodymedia.com

I think it is a great tool for those, like me, that have a long road to reach our goal weight.. or for those that need an extra push to stay motivated to increase their activity/exercise levels.

Understanding that not everyone's budget may be able to afford the cost; you can keep track in cheaper ways like pen and paper or other online journals.

I was going to get an upgraded Body Bugg (my understanding is that they are from the same parent company); but since JC was offering the Body Media Fit I picked that instead. It has kept me motivated to log my foods- even the subway cookies that I ate... and to work on getting my steps in.. like yesterday was a snow day, so I didn't feel like dragging my hiney to the gym... but I wanted my Max to at least show I wasn't a total couch potato for the day; so i popped in Leslie Sansone and did a 2-mile power walk video.

I really love my armband. It keeps me honest about what I do or don't do every day.

I have started with the armband and computer setup today and am so excited about having a place to "journal" my food while the device keeps track of everything else. I love doing things on the computer and this is a big "kick" to my restart at Jenny Craig. I have also promised my consultant to connect with a support group on this message board. OK to just jump in?

I am having trouble with my MM, too. Also gotting an overload message. Most definitely agree that they need to upgrade their system ASAP or they will start loosing clients. I love using this device but am not happy with this frustration!!!!! I plan to call the company later this morning.

I am burning!!!! Does that burn calories????

I like the MM as it keeps me motivated. Those evenings when I don't really want to work out I know Max is "watching" so I get with it. No issues so far.

Getting better with the food logging and I love the other information the device gives me. Hard to ignore those figures in black and white that tell me exactly what I am doing every day. Also feels more accountable to myself while connected with others thru these forums. Lost 3.8 lbs the first week and looking forward to next weigh in on Friday. Reading the posts is very good for my healthy attitude. You are all so supportive.

Find myself asking the question, "Do I want to log this food in or do I really need it?" I have promised myself to be rigorously honest with myself so I can make progress for my health. Will be staying with my grandkids Wed thru Sunday while my daughter and her husband go skiing with a group of friends. Will definitely get more exercise naturally but I have to be extremely careful about falling on the stairs.

Taking my Bodymedia on me for my time with my grandkids the next few days. Wonder how much my "activity" will have increased!!! Hope to be able to log into the internet from my daughter's so I can keep us here. You are all so wonderfully supportive and thank you :-)

I've had my arm band for a week now. It's quite interesting checking out my sleep patterns or lack of! Since I have been logging my food on the bodymedia website, I have noticed that my 1,200 calorie plan is more like 1,300 or 1,400 when I add the fruits and vegetables. My consultant could not explain this. I called Jenny Care and they said don’t worry about it. Has anyone else noticed this with the calories?
Also noticed that when I do a lower body routine on my Total Gym it is not counted by the arm band as my arm is not moving. Even though I may do 90 minutes of exercise a day, the arm band may only show one hour 12 minutes if I don’t flap my arms around while doing the Total Gym.

I have been on the MM program for a week and I totally LOVE it biggrin.gif It really allows me to be accountable and I do think twice before taking that "nibble and bits" that use to just add on the calories! It is a lot of fun and when I added up my total calorie deficit for the week it matched the weight I lost. So I am totally in awe of the technology!

I've had my MM for quite awhile now and still love it. Love the print outs with all the information. I have my annual Dr's appointment on Monday and I"m planning on bringing a copy of the printouts with me. I'll be curious to hear what she will have to say.

We had some really nice weather here in Indiana for about 4 days. So I got out my bike and rode for a mile. (didn't want to overdue and wanted to be able to walk). It was wonderful. However, the exercise did not register on MM. Didn't think that it was because my arms weren't moving though. Thought it was cause my feet weren't pounding on the ground.

When I first got my MM I saw that my intake was like 1300 -1400 calories instead of the 1200. It freaked me out. I called the center and they told me that the 1200 calories is just for the Jenny Craig food. The other calories are what they refer to as "free" food. Those foods don't count in your weight loss, but they will when journaling them.

I've lost 15 pounds so far. Very slow going, but it's going. I'm 64 years old and happy with any loss. Do notice it comes off more with exercise. It's just getting myself to do it.

Have a wonderful trip to sit with your grandkids. There's nothing like it is there.

I really like my armband as well. And for FLbeachwalker if you go in and set your tools to show that you only want to your calorie intake to be at 1200. Mine moved up one time when i was playing around with the numbers and decided to see what my average was for the week, i ended up resetting it to like 1300 or 1400! LOL my JCC noticed it and was like when did we up your calories! LOL So i went back and looked at it online and was able to reset it.

I just wait to get the extra armbands and face covers! LOL

Okay so I stopped logging in cause i was not loosing any weight and it has been about 3 weeks later. So now I can finally log in and be totally happy as I have broken my platoe and have lost 2.6pds!!!! I am finally in wonderland!!!!!

Love using the bodyimage armband because it keeps me accountable to myself in a way I was never able to sustain with paper food journals. This is working for me on all levels and also keeps me connected with these forums and people who know what I am going thru. We have snow and ice today in the pacific northwest (I love south of Seattle in Auburn, Washington). This is fun being "snowed in" today and I have a much greater appreciation of the challenges those in the midwest and east who have been "dumped" on for months now!!! I know I will be able to get out in a couple of days when the temp goes back into the low 40s :-) No way do I venture out with my PT Cruiser and walker until the streets are clear again.

Lost 1 lb after a month of eating whatever, must be making better choices. Driving up to Federal Way for my consultation has wiped me out. Went to my son-in-law's birthday dinner last evening so have had 2 outings back to back since the pneumonia. Things are looking up so long as I listen to my body and rest.

How does the armband work? Don't you have to enter the information into the computer anyway? I confess I'm an MMP 'dummy[/font]' dry.gif

The metabolic meter is on an elastic velcro band that goes on your upper arm. There are 4 sensors on the back which probably read your skin moisture -- at least that's what my doctor said. It stores information about your metabolic rate (how many calories you're burning), number of steps you take (a pedometer), amount of rest & sleep you get, and exercise levels. You pop the center part out & they give you a USB cable to plug into the MM. I leave the cable attached to my computer so it only takes a minute to get the results. They call it syncing. In fact, I sync about two or three times a day, just to see if I need to put in more time on the treadmill. You enter what you eat and then the program shows you whether you are on a deficit (losing weight), or on a gain cycle.

I am scrupulous about entering what I eat... nothing escapes entry. That is why it's surprising that my program has been showing about a 1,000 calorie per day deficit x 7 = 7,000 calorie deficit per week. That should be 2 lbs lost (3500 calories = 1 lb). Well my body doesn't work that way. After 2 weeks I have only lost 1.4 lbs! Maybe it's my age (64), or maybe I just have one of those 'efficient' (ie slow) metabolic rates. But it's good to have a clear picture of input / output.
