It's normal to be nervous the first few weeks. The program DOES work, if you work it! Stay true to the plan. You will see some change. But it won't come as fast as others if you aren't able to exercise. Ask your doctor what you could safely do and then do it.
Chin up. Hang in there and let us know how week 2 goes!
Here's to weight loss and a new life!

Jstar, I hope that you are feeling better and have gotten a good night's sleep.
You are 15 and there is a lot going on in your mind right now I'm sure. You have the program in front of you. It's a simple program just follow the menu and let the weight loss program work for you. You have developed typical eating habits that many people have developed over a lifetime. You are at an advantage and can change things now while you are young and see what a REAL portion of food should be. That you need to need more veggies and milk and that snacks and deserts are not a food group or a good nutritional choice.
It's easy for me to type "don't worry so much". Many people think that teenagers have nothing to worry about... but in actuality in working with teens I see the pressure they put on themselves is very real.
I have asthma and I see that you are worried that you will set off an asthma attack with the exercise. I have found that the weight loss itself has given me such a freedom from my asthma. I have not used the inhaler in close to 6 months.
Sleeping is essential for your weight loss. It's a mind and body connection. You need to give your body the rest to operate.
Please follow the menu and trust that you are eating the proper portions of foods at the right times and retraining your body to function more efficient by keeping the furnace operating to burn calories. Drink your water and start moving. You don't have to throw in tons of exercise right off the bat. Work on the menu first...then add in some walking. Don't over-load yourself...you are thinking way too much on this. Just let this happen and you will see changes. You need to eat every day.... if the menu wasn't there in front of you... you would be picking up foods that wasn't as good for you... NOW you don't have to think about that part of your life. The food is there in the portions you need, etc. See do not over think it.
I hope you are feeling better. Please keep coming here. You aren't alone at all. There are people at all points of their journey here.
I give you so much credit as a young girl starting out like this and making changes in your life so early. One day at a time, that will turn into one week at a time, one month at a time and you will be amazed how before you know it.... you will be just where you want to be in front of the mirror feeling so confident in yourself.
Have a fantastic day today.
