I'm an unhealthy weight which means an unhealthy body. At 32 I had a horrible accident with my knee playing in a power volleyball league. It took a year for me to walk normal. After 2 knee surgeries during that year I still can not kneel on my bad knee. Needless to say exercise will never be the same for me. However, I can walk and lift weights but motivation and emotional eating are my downfalls. I have a family history of heart disease so it's really not an option. I believe many of my health issues are a result of poor diet and lack of consistant exercise. I'm using this new year to develop a new lifestyle of good eating and exercise habits. My resolve is also going to include time to reflect and rest so I hope to find yoga positions that will encourage that mindset. I have hope that I can complete my mission and beginning it with a 28 day challenge seems like a great way to get started. If Valerie Bertinelli can do it, there is hope for me. Observing her journey is a great motivator and why I chose to use Jenny Craig as accountability. I can't join the program because we are unemployed at this time but the free online tools are a great encouragement. Looking forward to a new me in this 2011 year. Cheers!
