So about 5 weeks ago I hit the scale and realized that I needed to make some changes in my life. I had known for awhile that I was getting heavier each month and had at least put on 40 pounds in the past 5 years. I consider myself moderately active and activities that I enjoy like playing with the kids or ice hockey were becoming difficult with the extra weight.

I walked into a Jenny location and asked about the program and quickly realized that this might be the push I need to make some changes in my lifestyle.

I am pleased to say that after 5 weeks I have lost close to 20 pounds and feel better physically, mentally and have a renewed energy that I had lost some time ago.

I plan on taking off another 20-30 pounds thanks to Jenny and wanted to share a few things that have made the program more manageble for myself.

1. I was hesitant to tell family and friends (outside of my wife) that I was on the program. As soon as I came clean and told people they were very supportive and actually have taken a keen interest in the program.
2. I load up on liquids throughout the day...sparkling water w/ a spllash of cranberry juice (w/ splenda) is my fav.
3. My family plans their own meals around my Jenny program. If I am eating mac & cheese so is the rest of my family.
4. While I customize the weekly program, I make sure that I keep the menu interesting so I dont get bored. I don't want the same meals over and over.
5. Set a goal and reward yourself for your hard work...don't make the goal unattainable.
6. Don't go overboard. I still go out with friends for the occasional beer..this is not a sprint to the finish.

Cheers.

Parker

Sounds like you are doing great, Parker. You certainly have the correct mindset and committment to be successful on Jenny Craig. Congratulations on your weight loss. so far. It is good that you have the support of your family. That is half the battle, for sure. My best wishes for continued success on JC! smile.gif Nice meeting you.

I've been going to JC for years off and on, and today for the 1st time the client before me and after me were men! THREE MEN IN A ROW! Usually I can go weeks without seeing another man in the center.

I went back to JC back in November after almost two years off. It didn't work well the first time but that was my fault. I had just gotten off NS and was totally burned out on the whole boxed food thing. Now the GF and I are doing it together and it is going much better. I'm also loving the Body Media device. Nothing like cool new gadgets to inspire a guy!!!
