I am contemplating if I should join. I had a c-section 11/1/10, so it has been 6 weeks today. I went to the dr for my check-up and basically she said I won't lose any more wieght as I am not breasftfeeding. I also have a 5 yr old and going back to work after the holidays. Husband will be out of town many days of the week, so I figure JC will be convenient as my 5 yr old is a very p[icky eater and I wouldn't have to cook much. My clothes do not fit. I used to be a size 12 and a 16 is tight. Also, I cannot exercise much right now as I am not 100% healed. Walking gives me cramps. Any hope / tips for me?
Sylvia

It has been working for me. 2 c-sections behind me...and im well on my way to my weight loss goal/ and life style change. You can start eating the food, and not excercise til your healed, when your doctor gives the OK.

But take it from me.. 3 weeks in and already lost a bunch so Im excited. I know I have tons more to loose, but I have hope now that I can do it!

Good luck!

Kari

Also, how much exercise do you have to do to lose the weight each week?

losing the weight has nothing to do w/breasfeeding. that's really weird your doc would say that. at jc they only expect bf'g moms to lose half as much/quickly as other people, so i would not worry about that at all!

i've only been on for 4 weeks but the convenience is definitely a bonus!

good luck!

It worked for me, I am in my smallest jeans. They are a tad snug, but not tight....it does work! Someone calls you once a week and they will help you with the exercise thing. I do get the food and I like it!

Hi,
I too had a c-section 9 months ago and had my first c-section 3 years ago. I had tried jenny craig before several years before both my daughters were born and I kept off the weight for a couple of years. After I had my babies I have had more difficulty getting that last 25 pounds off my body doing it by myself. I need structure & convience. So yesterday I too decided it was time to get back on the wagon and ask for help. I am doing pretty good today although I have horrible cravings at night. It is so very possible with jenny craig. I say committ to two weeks as the first two weeks are the hardest. Then decide from there. I know for myself two weeks in and I am on my way as you can't help but loose on this program. I remember the first week of jenny the first time I tried it I lost 4.6 pounds and from that point I was hooked. So here I am again knowing I am doing the best thing for myself as I don't want to waste another day not being my best self...Do it for yourself and everyone around you will benefit too.
take care.

I had my last child by c-section and I was also 41 years old at the time...and I did not breast feed. I lost the weight right away. I am surprised the Doc would say that. The thing that put me over the edge with weight is the fact I quit smoking after 30 some odd years of having that bad habit (or should I say addiction).

Congrats to the new mom and new grandma! Best wishes to both of you. With a doctor's OK, the program can be started now. Exercise will come when you are feeling better and has been given the OK by your doctor. Step by step, as ya go, is my motto. Best wishes to all!

I just had a baby via c section 11/1/2010 also. I have about a 40 lbs weight goal although I'm only 15 lb away from my pre preg weight. My menu is the 1700 calorie breastfeeding menu, my starting weight is 185 i'm 5'2". I've lost 2 lb in this first week, hoping the following weeks go well also!

Yeap on the planned meals - I just follow the menu and eat what it says. I took off thanksgiving dinner, and christmas dinner but my consultant helped me plan what I would eat.

You can do it TOO!

Congratulations,
I have been on it for 10 weeks and have lost 25 pounds in the first few weeks I was losing 3lbs pounds a week but I have settled into a consistent 2lbs a week now. I have not begun any exercise. I breast feed and I am on the 1700 calorie menu plus a milk, and then I get an additional milk because I do not eat the anytime bars since I still take my prenatal vitamins.
I wish you the best of luck on your journey

Hello there, and congrats on the new baby. My son is now 9 months old. He was born 12/28/2010.

I am sorry your doc said that you wont loose any weight because you are not breast feeding. Breast feeding will help you lose weight if you are but it won't keep you from losing if you are not. I am not breast feeding. My little guy didn't take so we ended up using Infamil foumula. He is thriving.

Okay, I am on Jenny and am steadly loosing weight each week. I have been a member since 2004. My first time around I lost a total of 80 pounds. The program works if you follow it. I started back up to loose the baby weight. I would like to loose 50 pounds this time around. I gained 10 with the baby and 40 during my first year of marriage.

I will be honest the first two weeks are rough because I had to get used to the portion sizes. I had headaches too as my body was adjusting. BUT I can tell you that the food is delishous and after a while your body will get used to the portions. I am amazed on how quickly I forgot what a correct portion size is...LOL

I also wanted to share that my co-workers begin druling when I bring my food back to my desk. It smells and tastes great. I play on the computer during my lunch hours)

I am on my 4th week and have lost 10 pounds all ready. I feel better all ready too. The program works if you follow it...the food is worth the price if you think about what you would have normally spent at the store. I have my menu on an excel sheet so I will know how much I am spending. If I am short one week I can tweak what I chose to eat to lower the cost. (cereal is cheaper than the hot meals)

Not bad for 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 7 dinners and 7 snacks - all you need is fruit and veggies.

Good luck

Beverly Negrete
Thank you and make it a great day!
