I'm a 3 time Jenny Craig client. This is my 3rd going back because I stopped before I was ready. I am going direct this time.
In my experience..I think JCC consultants in centres needs to be trained better. In all honestly I almost feel that they should infact have some sort of certification as well for helping with weight loss. The consultants at my centre were AWFUL. They were just horrible, unprofessional. The only reason why I kept going was because I couldn't (and still can't afford Direct). There were 6 occasions when I had the first appointment at 7am and stood outside waiting until 8 because whoever was suppose to open didn't show up or over slept.
I had one experience where I knew I would be late due to traffic and I called the centre to let them know. When I got there my consultant said to me rather nastily "Your late and missed your slot. I don't have time for you" which ok..I get..I was late. BUT I CALLED!! I called 20 mins before my time because I knew I would not get there in time. Another time, I received a confirmation message from my centre confirming my 8am appointment. I had orignally thought it was 7:30 but figured I was wrong..they have the schedule book and look at it when they call right?? Well, When I got there the next day at 7:50, I was once again rather nastily told "You missed your slot and I don't have time for you".
Wow sorry..I really didn't mean to turn this into a centre compliant....

Anyway...what I wish was offered, is that we have the option of going to the centre and using the centre's JCC or had the option of just going to the centre to pick up your food and being able to use another JCC via the phone. I had actually asked my centre that and was told "No..we can't do that.." which sort of surprises me because its all Jenny Craig right??

Another benefit would be client's being able to do their food choices on line! I always felt that 13 of those 15 minute consultations were used for picking out your food. For me it would be more benificial if the consulations focused more on what challenges I was facing and how to overcome them.

Week 1- 5.4 loss
Week 2- 1.8 loss
Week 3- 1 loss.

I am so sorry to hear about your poor experience at your centre! I think it might just be a case of the people who work at that particular one. I love my consultant and she has reallly been a good friend to me so far. My friend just started working there before I started the program, and she went through quite a bit of training. She did have to have some certification, but I am not sure exactly for what. Are there any other centres around you that you can go to besides that one? I am sure that the company would be upset to know that they have a center where people are acting so rude. They are supposed to be helping!

Hello, I think it must depend which center you use. I started direct, but because of shipping costs, I called our closest center. The consultant I spoke with said I could pick up my food there any time I want. It is an hour away, but I love this girl. Now, I pick up food about once a month, and we have phone consultations in between. Maybe, that would work for you. Good luck.

I'm actually going to ask my JCC direct consultant if I can get my food at the center but still talk to her OR if I have to use on the ones at the centre.
The other center is about 45 minutes away...and with 2 little kids and a crazy work schedule..I would never get there. I even checked to see if there was one by where I work..but there isn't. sad.gif NJ doesn't offer many centers at least not in my area.
Week 1- 5.4 loss
Week 2- 1.8 loss
Week 3- 1 loss.

I was really lucky and took advantage of a promo they offered via Jenny Direct this past Summer, you had to order a minimum amount of food for a certain number of weeks and then all future orders shipped free... so now I pay no shipping fees - hopefully they will run that again soon. Sorry to hear that you have had such an arse of a time with your centre. sad.gif

I, too, have been having "issues" with my JCC. After plateauing at 50-55 lbs. lost, I really needed some guidance, so I asked her how long it took her to lose weight on Jenny and if she had ever plateaued or even reached her goal. She "confessed" that one does not have to be on the JC program to be a counsellor-in fact she said, as she wispered and winked, "I liked Weight Watchers, personally!". Wow!! It took about 6 days for that info. to process in my brain. At my next session, I brought up all the things that were going "wrong" with Jenny, besides the fact they had run out of many favorites, discontinued new items I had liked and that the lost my before picture and never made it around to taking my 1/2 way picture! My 8 am appointment on Sun. morning (since I joined last February) was someone getting booked by "new registrants". I was livid! My counsellor said that none of the consultants at our center had lost a major amount of weight on Jenny, so my request to switch to a consultant who could better relate to me was null. She said that she could talk about the food with me because she can "try samples". After leaving there feeling upset that I had confronted her about so many issues that were bothering me, I also felt relieved. As someone I deeply respect told me, she said you were ready to lose the weight and make life-style changes. Jenny just happened to be the one I tried at the time. My commitment has come from the inside of me-not from what anyone has told (or regurgitated from a training manual) me. Now I go primarily for my weigh-in and to pick up food. I now view my "counsellor" as a saleswoman, there to encourage me to try new products and keep buying the ones I already like. Nothing she could ever say to me about my weight loss journey holds any merit for me. Too bad--because of my success, at least 7 women have joined my JC Center since this past summer. I don't feel like I could honestly recommend the program any more. I am dissappointed in the treatment I've received. (No to mention the fact that there are contests my consultant "forgets" to enroll me in to win make-over's etc. Yet she tells me I'm her favoriate client and her "success" story! That at 50 cents will get you a pack of gum!
