So I've said it a few times before on here, but my ultimate fitness dream is to run a half marathon. As of right now, I'm not interested in a full. We'll see, in the future. smile.gif

I'm starting the Couch to 5K program. I'm in my first full week, so I'm walking 90 seconds and jogging 60 seconds. I started out just walking every day, and last week I gave it a shot, figuring I could probably jog for max 15 seconds. I tried 30 seconds and wasn't very winded! So I aimed for 60 and was floored that I could do it! So I may not take the C25K program exactly as laid out.. I may be a little slower than the program says to be. But that's okay, right now I'm jogging a full minute, and that's huge for me!

Congrats! That's an amazing gift ... I'll have to entice the hubby to do that as he's already reached his half-way point ... biggrin.gif

Good luck and can't wait to read that you're involved in a 5K run!

The C25K is an amazing training program! You should definitely take it at your own pace, and not be afraid to progress more slowly than suggested if needed. Oh, and shoes! Make sure you invest in great shoes before you get too far into the program - the last thing you want to do is injure yourself.

However, I also must say, you can really surprise yourself, especially with that first 20 minute run in week 5, lolz. I remember feeling like that would be a total impossibility (how can I possibly go from running two 8 minute intervals to running 20 minutes straight?!?!!), but what a great feeling when I was actually able to run that day as scheduled!

Good luck to you, Andrea, I hope you enjoy the program.
The only easy day was yesterday.
