I am convinced that my sofa is made of some space age matter like you'd find in a cosmic black hole. Once you sit on it after work, it automatically zaps all of your energy and good intentions, replacing them with inertia and apathy. Seriously, the military could use my sofa as a secret weapon. Just have the bad guys sit on my sofa, and bam, they just want to watch TV and maybe page through some fashion magazines, then go to bed. Presto, no more war.

The curse of the sofa is a big, big reason that I really need to work out in the morning.

Incredibly and amazingly, I'm on day 4 of consistent exercise. The past 2 days have been quite dicey, but by the skin of my teeth, I wedged in a workout. I've really fought eating junk food (sugary stuff is my weakness), replacing it with fruit. I've also avoided diet drinks, opting for water instead.

I find that reading some of the posts on this JC site are very, very helpful and motivating. I say to myself, if they can do it, I can too! And then I steer wide from my sofa for a while.

Good for you! That's wonderful- the working out, I mean.I honestly was laughing out loud reading your post. I do the same thing. I got home tonight after work, sat in my recliner and just want to stay here until it's time for bed. My husband even brought my food to me. I am just tired! I know I need to work out tonight and I just keep saying, "no I can do it in the morning". Bad thing to say. Working out has never been something I WANT to do. Just finding this forum for the first time tonight. I think it will help with the motivation. Good luck to you.
