I really don't care for the Jenny Craig salad dressings. I'm sure that someone has discovered a tasty, lowfat, homemade version that they love. Any suggestions appreciated!!

I just 2 tablespoons of lite italian. I just asked my consultant today and she said its good. I tried the JC ranch and hated it.

I mix dijon mustard into the JC ranch dressing and it completely changes the taste. excellent for dipping vegetables like baby carrots. You could also try mixing taco sauce (I use taco bell border sauce packets- I run in and grab a bunch- they must think I'm crazy!) into the ranch for a chipolte ranch dressing. It tastes so good, I promise!

Try a Green Goddess dressing. Here's one based on Ina Garten's recipe that I love:

Ingredients

* 1 cup fat free mayonnaise
* 1 cup chopped scallions, white and green parts (6 to 7 scallions)
* 1 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
* 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
* 2 teaspoons chopped garlic (2 cloves)
* 2 teaspoons anchovy paste
* 2 teaspoons kosher salt
* 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
* 1 cup ff sour cream or ff Greek yogurt

Directions

Place the mayonnaise, scallions, basil, lemon juice, garlic, anchovy paste, salt and pepper in a blender and blend until smooth. Add the sour cream and process just until blended. (If not using immediately, refrigerate the dressing until ready to serve.)

Obviously this makes a pretty big batch. You can easily make half or 1/4 batch. I have a a Cuisinart mini-chopper that I make it in. It's wonderful!

I love the spray dressing they are like 1 calorie a spray and really good. I have tryedthe balsamic, honey mustrad, and italian. If you buy bottled dreasing atstore besure to check the calories, they may say light or fatfree but still have entirely too many calories. Also if you love ranch hidden valley has a fat free ranch thats very good and Ithink 15cal for 2 tbsp.

paul newman makes a good line of dressings. his lite balsalmic is good. also, if you have ken's dressings in your area they are also good.

i find i cannot find a low fat ranch that tastes decent to me even though this is my favorite dressing normally. I tend to stick with the vinagarette types for low fat dressings.

Walden Farms has a line of dressings that are zero calorie. The ranch isn't horrible, I'm learning to become friends with it. The Dijon is horrible.

I just got the raspberry vinagrette, italian and asian....haven't tried them yet. Hope they're decent. I know the taste will grow on me.

The Galeo's Miso dressings from Whole Foods are AMAZING! They are only 20 calories a serving. Also, in the refrigerated section, they have yogurt dressings. They have blue cheese, honey mustard and Asian which are also about 20 calories a serving.

At Wendy's I got a garden salad with a packet of Marzetti pomegranate dressing. I was going to toss it and use my JC dressing, but was pleasantly surprised the serving size was comparable in calories @ 60. I am trying to find it in the store now - do delicious!

I love Maple Grove Farms Wasabi Dijon. It's 100% fat free and only 35 Calories for 2 Tbsps. I have found it in all my grocery stores lately in the salad dressing isle. I think that is the dressing they have them eat on Biggest Loser. smile.gif All the FF Maple Grove Farms dressings I have tried have been yummy.

The Kraft Light Toasted Asian Sesame is delish! I also use the Kraft Light Caesar (really low in cals).

Another that I wish I could get in the bottle is McDonald's Low Fat Family Style Italian... it's amazing, and I eat the side salad at McD's a few times a week because of the dressing.

Tonight, I actually had two of them (with one dressing, of course).

Food Network Magazine had a bunch of light recipes this month: Bleu Cheese, Ranch, Italian, Carrot Ginger, etc. I haven't tried any yet, but they all looked amzing!

Best of luck to you!

I just look for dressings that have the same calories and fat as the JC. Safeway (Vons, Pavillions) had some nice Eating Right brand dressings in the produce section, but I'm not sure if they still exist.

I second that, it is my absolute favorite. I also do olive oil with lemon juice.

Thank you so much for asking this. Yesterday, my stomach turned. I can no longer stomach the JC Ranch and the JC Balsamic is not a favorite by any stretch.

My most favorite dressing is Litehouse Salsa Ranch Dressing. Has 30 calories per tablespoon and is delicious. I use nothing else! wink.gif

This is also my favorite dressing. They make a light Peppercorn Parmesean that is also good but closer to 60 calories.
