Here's the November 2010 plan:
1. Go to bed earlier so that getting up early enough to exercise in the morning is a breeze.
2. Exercise in the mornings, so it does not get bumped by other events.
3. Hydrate. Choose water over diet drinks.
4. Eat fresh foods. Defeat the sugar monster.
5. Make eating and nutrition a conscious act.
6. Approach a healthy lifestyle with a sense of joy. This is wonderful and joyful, not a deprivation or punishment.
7. Apportion my daily energy wisely so that my energy is aimed productively towards my goals.
8. If I slip, forgive, re-route, and get back on track. Learn from the mistakes.
9. Ask for help. Invite friends, family, etc. to help me accomplish something really important to me.
10. Celebrate every success. Celebrate me.

But for yesterday's successes, (1) I exercised (2) I ate healthy (3) I hydrated (4) I stayed positive.
On my way home from Yoga 101, I stopped at the grocery to buy fresh salad stuff for the week.
I discovered yesterday that it can be a lot harder to stay positive than it sounds. I went to visit my 81 year old mother who unfortunately has a very negative attitude and viewpoint towards the world. My partner has a stressful and demanding job that imports massive amounts of stress and negativity into my world. Our adult daughter is living with us while she emerges from an ugly divorce, and she carries overflowing buckets of drama and trauma with her. I think I sometimes get sucked into a whirlpool of bad energy, when I'm trying to climb a mountain into happy-land. I'm not being very articulate in the description, but the point is simply that despite great intentions of a positive outlook, other people can really rain on your parade and make life a lot more negative and challenging than you'd like.
My solution? I have this time alone this morning. I'm re-grouping, re-focusing and re-committing. Taking this a day at a time. Hoping to string 2 good days together, back to back.
