Nah...none of those are as bad as the Southwestern Chicken with Rice. OMG! They could serve that stuff at Guantanamo instead of water-boarding!

Over the years that I've been on (then off) and on again with JC, it's been the salad kits. They pulverize the heck out of the meat and then it's in this weird mayoey type stuff - just couldn't bring myself to eat it. It suprises me they haven't tried to update those 2 weird concoctions. There have been others too like the salmon which tastes like crap, rather just buy some and make it a 'meal on my own'. Really not a 'bar' fan, so most of those I avoid. Unfortunately it costs more when you go with the frozen foods.

Now the sliders are the real winner this time (YUMMY)! Wish they'd do some steak fajitas too after awhile I get bored with all the chicken and turkey.

Hello Everyone

Today is my second day on JC. I really loved Beef Chow Mein for lunch yesterday, eventhough I am a not beef eater smile.gif) Also I liked blueberry mini loaf and chocolate cake was good too.

Breakfest stuffed sandwich - was sooo bad, maybe because I ate at work and had to use a microwave.
Turkey club panini - hmm I put some ketchup on it( I hope I could do it) -wasn't bad.
Mesquite chicken awfull!!! I liked brocli and potatoes but chicken was glazed in something what had a really bad taste to me brrr!!
Tomorrow is my salad kit day- after reading those post I hope I will make it trough the work day smile.gif

The deep fried fish sticks were probably the worst for me and the travel or shelf stable foods. The wedge potatoes that came with the frozen fish sticks were okay. I wish they would consider sweet potato fries, as it’s the latest food flavor trend, high in fiber and taste. The rottini and meatballs is okay, but it’s not fantastic. The Swedish meatballs with mushroom sauce on pasta was horrible, as well as the potatoes and beef. I customize my own menu every week and bring it to the center with me.

Here are some tips that keep me sane. The chicken and tuna salad lunch kits? Although easy and convenient, I don’t buy them anymore. The flavor is tolerable, but the portion kills me.

Online, I personalize my own menu and twice a week I fill in two lunch options with “Meal on My Own.” Then I take low sodium, water-packed tuna and make my own at home to eat, with a small serving of wheat crackers. Check for low salt and fat, but high fiber, on the label.

Finally, because I cook for the family as well, I take an extra chicken breast from dinner and once cold, cut it up and add make a similar salad to substitute the JC Chicken Salad Lunch.

Lastly, watch the mayo OR mustard your adding to either the tuna or chicken salad. I use a measuring tablespoon to add one OR the other to the salad mix, adding finally chopped celery and carrots from the food processor, to add volume without calories. A little extra work, but eventually, when we’re on our own, you have become so used to the lifestyle changes that it will become second nature to make healthy choices.

Love the Beef Chow Mein...i add a whole bag of frozen brocalli florents to keep me nice and full with the free no calorie volume. I was the same way, not big on red meat, but it's one of the better options.

Lots of luck,
Emerald

I guess it all depends on how bad you want to lose the fat....I want to lose it so bad.that the taste of the food does not matter, it is still so much better for me than the fast food, junky snacks and non-stop sweets I was over filling myself with that it feels great to be eating sensibly. I am finally eating vegetables and a decent breakfast...I am grateful to be able to afford to participate and the nice people at my Jenny salon are the best. Making new like minded friends is a bonus. It is not about the taste it is about motivation and attitude for me. Love....from Grannie in SoCal.

Try cooking it in the oven next time. It does make a HUGE difference and lots of us add other veggies which also greatly changed the taste. Or, just don't order it again. :)

These posts have me laughing out loud! Great tips on here too. I especially enjoy the "cat food" , "dirty sock" and "cardboard" references! I thank my lucky stars I never ordered that salmon!

keep in mind that sometimes the majority hates something but some of us love it. I really like the southwestern chicken and rice but I MUST put FF sour cream on it to eat it! But, with the sour cream, it's not half bad. I liked the sweet and sour chicken but I didn't love it. Just order one of a questionable item, and if you don't like it, don't get it again.

Any of the jenny foods are AWESOME compared to nutrisystem - don't ever do that unless you like cardboard.

I said it before and will say it again, the pizza is just nasty. I buy the LC ones now and they are very good. And the anytime bars, awful.

How funny! I LOVE my peanut butter anytime bars, AND my rising crust & pesto pizzas! Can't get through a week without 'em...

I HATED the mashed potatoes & beef. YUCK. Don't like the southwestern chicken with rice, or the breakfast omelette.

I don't like the tortellini soup. took one taste and threw it away. I have never really liked chili ever or baked beans, so I never tried the chilis or chicken and bean dish, just substituted them out. And, any of the shelf pasta dishes I didn't really like, I think it was the sauce, tasted too much like Chef-boy-ardee, which I have never been a fan of.

I remember the turkey burger smelling so bad (the under cooked poultry smell) that I couldn't eat it. I'm a returning member and I've heard that some of my faves are now gone. I used to love the muffins for a quick breakfast with 2 servings of mild (filling!) and now I see that these are replaced with the loaves. I'm nervous about not liking them. I guess I'll find out in the morning when I kick off the program.

Regarding the beef chili that so many don't like, I LOVE it when add a can of either Rotel or diced tomatoes. It suddenly tastes like good chili!

I also like to take the chicken sandwich apart and marinate and cook the chicken to add to a salad, then use the bread on the side.

If you don't like the fish n chips, try baking it longer. I normally do not even eat fish but I really like the Jenny fish, but ONLY if I bake it until it is crisp. I'm looking forward to having it this week for the first time in years.

I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve. I'll try to share as I re-encounter them.

The chocolate cake (new one -- when they came out with the two little ones) taste like petroleum to me. Really.

The other food might not be good (my taste preference) or microwaving it (salmon, fish) makes it horrid, but the chocolate cake is not even food like in taste.
