Hi there fellow Jenny Craigers!! I haven't been on for so long that I forgot what I was doing and went into "chat" instead of "forum". Oh well. I've been so busy lately with kids, home and trying to find a job...which I did! Yeah!! I reached my goal a few months ago but some pounds have started creeping back on. It's been hectic lately. I know that no excuse. My father-in-law died this summer. It was really sad and everything was so up in the air for a while. We were out of town a lot and schedules were interrupted. But I'm back on track now and ready to shed those few extra pounds!! rolleyes.gif I also made a bucket list and "meeting Valerie" is on it. Also, running a 1/2 marathon and a full marathon. Wow! I'm going to start training in January. I'm excited. Well, hope everyone is thinking positive and keeping their eyes on their goals. You will be so glad you did! XXOO biggrin.gif

Sure sounds like you have a great plan for yourself! Good for you and welcome back. I also have a 'Bucket List' for a very different reason. I do hope that you can accomplish yours. Best wishes for your success this time around! smile.gif

Mom you sure have been through a whole lot.

You will get those few pounds you put on off now you can do some concentrating on yourself. Eeeek a marathon, that always amazes me. I am NOT a runner nor ever will be unless I am being chased for my life. But I give people so much credit who have the dedication and stamina to participate in them, so good for you having that as one of your goals.

Never really thought of a bucket list I'm just in the moment and happy for where I am. You've given me something to think about smile.gif

I wish you mucho success on your program focus and your bucket list !!!

Have a great day
Dawn

Thanks BH. That's how I started.....a few minutes on the treadmill. And then the minutes increased and now I'm running. Wow!! Well, I shouldn't say I'm really running. I'm not a runner. I'll run the marathon but definitely don't want to make a career out of it. heehee... It's just on my bucket list of things I want to say I did. ha! Hang in there girl and good luck with your goals. I KNOW you'll reach them. Just keep your eye on the prize....

Mid life Mom,

Glad to hear you are back. I have a marathon on my bucket list too. I checked the half-marathon off my bucket list in early Oct. '10. I changed my bucket list to do a race every month, (5K or +). So far I've been doing that, had to do a virtual race in Dec. , I just couldn't match up with a race date. I was able to get in a race in Jan and have a race Feb 6th and 3 in a two week period in March. Hey if I do all three in the series I get an extra t-shirt. I have definitely gotten the race/race shirt bug. I figure if I do a marathon it will be next year, probably in the winter. I say if only due to my work schedule and because I am a penguin, really slow, so I kind of waddle. laugh.gif That said it's never an excuse not to run/trot. There is a great article in the new AARP on how running and really being active makes a difference to you body as you age, I tried to find it on line to post but it's not online, which is very unfortunate. Good luck with your training. Do you run with a running club to train, I hear that is incredibly helpful not to mention much safer when putting in lots of miles. Meeting Val is also on my bucket list.
