Is anyone else completely terrified of their weighins???

I follow my plan strictly - NO snacks or extras. I have made myself dinner 2x, following the volumetrics stuff and a recipe on the Jenny Craig website.

I try to go for walks on my lunch break. 10-20 minutes at the most. I am so tired after work and I can never go to the gym. We even bought an eliptical and I make excuses - it is TOO messy to work out in the basement and I will have a panic attack.

I am afraid, for some reason, I gained weight this past week. I follow my plans so strictly - my consultant is impressed I never add anything.

Someone help me out and tell me I am not a freak ohmy.gif(

First off, you are not a freak. Losing weight is never, ever easy. Especially if you are not fully committed, which honestly, I think may be part of your problem. Jenny Craig meals can only take you so far. If you are not drinking enough water and getting in enough exercise, this plan and no other plan will work.

Take a deep breathe and try not to obsess about your weigh ins. When you go to your next weigh in, talk to your consultant about what you can do to amp up your work outs. For instance, my sister has lost about 50 pounds and she has three kids. She doesn't get a chance to go to the gym, but she keeps workout DVD's at home. When she goes out, she parks as far as she can from entrances and walks briskly to her destinations. When she cleans her house, she over exaggerates her cleaning motions to get a workout in.

Also, it sounds like you may need to start taking multi-vitamins as well to increase your energy. Are you getting enough sleep? You should be getting at least 7 hours. All of these things factor into successful weight loss.

Don't be afraid of it. Remember that you are in control! And most importantly... NO EXCUSES! Good luck to you!

My energy is actually very low. It could be due to no vitamins, or anti-depressants (which may have also caused the weight gain). Since I stopped doing theatre, and teaching dance, it has been very difficult to get up and moving. Then I switched positions with my job 4 times in the last year - all promotions, but it has been very hard on my stress levels.

I don't think commitment is my problem actually. I have been praised by my consultant, and that actually feels good to get praised for losing weight, instead of scolded. I drink a lot of water, but I suppose I could drink more. Like I said, I walk and I do yoga, but going to a gym is embarrassing for me and we don't have a DVD player at our house (we just moved a couple of months ago).

I don't think I lost weight. I think I gained. And I really am nervous about it, and I don't want to have a break down when I get off the scale. I don't even know how much I weigh because I get on backwards, but I have an idea because I sneaked a peak at the screen when i started.

Oh well. We'll see.

Hang in there. I am sure that you and your consultant will be able to figure something out that will suite you busy lifestyle. Whatever you do... don't give up!

I know it doesn't sound possible, but exercise will INCREASE your energy! If you can find 20 minutes after work, it will really help. It will boost your mood and improve your sleep. Seriously!

Also, it sounds like you're over-thinking all of this. I recognize it, because I do it, too! biggrin.gif It's hard to relax and just trust the program, but if you didn't think it worked, would you really be spending all that money on it?

I do overthink things. Like for example, I have no idea when to stop drinking water so it won't affect my weigh-in (bc my consultant told me not to drink any right before). It's 4pm over here right now, so i have until 6pm!

I have a horrible habit of analyzing situations!

I totally know what you mean. I have a dozen or more diet books and know them all down to the last detail, but do you think I've ever stuck to one of them? Nope! biggrin.gif It's not easy, but I'm really trying to relax with this one.

I think that's why this program is so perfect for me. There really isn't that much to think about. I'm sure I'll still find things, but I'm going to do my best to relax and let the program work.

How far in advance did your consultant tell you to stop drinking water? My weigh-in is early in the morning, so I don't even have to think about it, but I'm curious.

I think some centers are open at 7am some days, but unless you're a morning person, that could be really tough. smile.gif
