I know that if someone told me a year ago that I would walk a 5k today, I would have laughed at them and told them they were crazy. Perhaps I was a little crazy for being out there today and walking, but I am so glad that I was.

Since coming back to Jenny in May, I have lost 35 lbs. I have also turned my life around by adding exercise into my life. I am still at the beginning of my journey, but each week I am getting closer and closer to my half way point.

The weather wasn't too bad, but it was hot. We were lucky to have an overcast this morning, and we were blessed with a cool breeze. B/c of the stormy weather, they had to change the location to the walk. The new location was very tight, so it was really crowded the whole time. I did the entire 3.1 miles in 1 hour and 6 minutes....I am planning on doing another 5K in November, so I hope at that time I can do it in under 1 hour.

Thanks again to everyone here who told me that I could do it. Your support really helped.

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO! YAAAAAAAY! I am so proud of you. Your a race walker now. Pretty cool. Every lb lost will help you go faster. I get postings on my FB from active.com and couch25k.com and they are really helpful. They explain how for every lb lost you go that much faster. They have a ton of good articles. Check them out, I think they will help you too. They have a walking portion too.

YAYAYAYAY! I feel alittle like I did the 5k with you. Plus you put up with the heat. You are so much better than me on that part. Congrats on the 35 lbs and signing up for a race in Nov. Then you can do a Jingle bell race in Dec. You'll have to do one New Years day, think how much you'll have off by then. I'm going to find one on New Years, great way to start the year off.

I can't stop smiling for you. Plus you've given me more confidence for my race on the 3rd. Thanks Misty!

Now put your feet up, have some green tea and enjoy the win.

Awesome! You are an inspiration!

and man, has it been disgusting here in South Texas ever since Hermine blew through. It's so muggy that my yard (which is only dirt at the moment as we're in the middle of redoing it) is MOLDY. If you walked through that ick today you are a rock star.

Yay for you. Pat yourself on the back and splurge on some new walking/running shoes!
