Hi All!
Today as I finished my lunch, I realized that not only was I not satisfied, but i was also badly craving the bag of donuts my friend had next to him, and also that huge cheeseburger and soda he was devouring. Then i realized that for the past week and a half I've been feeling this way. I've constantly been thinking a lot about snacking here and there.. behaviors I had before I started the program, and it scared me since I thought I got rid of those things weeks ago! In other words.. I'm afraid I'm losing motivation!
I even noticed i'm not giving my all at the gym like I used to. I'm really trying to get back on track and I'm sure I will. This must be just a small set back I'm sure.
My question for all of you is... Have you ever felt this way along your journey? What have you done to overcome it?
I'm really looking forward to hearing all your stories!

Yes...most of us have felt this way. When we give in to cravings or fail to add activity to our week, weight loss comes to a dead stop or goes on the rise.

As far as exercise goes...DO IT ANYWAY. Go to your gym or start a walk and argue with yourself later. That's the only way that I've found to deal with it. There's a nice page in the Linda Spangle book (100 Days of Weight Loss) that addresses this. Being at the gym and feeling like you're not giving your all means you need to change up your routine. Get on a bike, do a hill program on the treadmill, try 30 min. on the elliptical machine, get outside, take a kickboxing or Zumba class.

As far as food goes, you may be dealing with cravings for a while and YOU MUST HAVE A PLAN. What will you do when they hit? Eat some raw carrots? Drink a glass of Crystal Light? Phone a friend and take a walk? Wait 20 min. and see if you still want it? Drink a cup of herbal tea? Once you have a plan an call upon these options when you need to, the craving will get weaker.

And, stay away from those who are eating food you crave...out of sight- out of mind.

Good Luck!

Dear Jazzygal -- I have often felt that way but somehow stayed right on program. When I need a motivation boost I ALWAYS pick up Linda Spangle's book 100 Days of Weight Loss. It's on Amazon for only around $10. It is wonderful. I also pick up my Jenny manuals and reread them. I have lost 25 lbs since June and never want to go back to where I was EVER. I still have a way to go--still 12 lbs to halfway--but this time I know I'll get there. Remember, you are on a sound program that works. This is the easiest part -- we just eat our prepared foods. I imagine it will become a little more challenging when we start to make our own meals--something I am looking forward to. Like mentioned above -- prepare in advance. My difficult time is evening and always save my snack for 9 pm. If it's only 8 and I am getting too hungry, out comes a hot cup of tea or I make coffee smoothies with 1/2 cup decaf, extra 1/2 cup of ff milk, splenda and ice. Soo good and only another 1/2 milk if I've used all of them. Remember you can also have a little more fruit. Grab some grapes. Lots of options and we must learn now how to handle these things so maintenance will be a breeze for us. Best of luck on your journey. Remember you are worth it.
