Hi Everyone:

Here is the chart updated through week 12. Please let me know if there is anything I missed.

I do have a question for everyone - do you like having a new thread for each week or should we just include the remaining weeks (13-16) in this thread? Seems we have more input as the thread stays up longer since I think people read the history and know more of what's happening. I can just post the updated chart each monday, but keep in it the same thread. Let me know your thoughts.

I also removed some folks that i haven't heard from for many weeks. If you come back and want to update, just let me know. I still have the history and can add it back in.

As for myself, with 4 weeks left, I adjusted my own Challenge goal. I really got lost during the month of July - too many things going on - so I haven't been losing, BUT I did maintain for the most part. SO - I did adjust my goal to lose 8lbs (2lbs/week) by the end of this challenge.

Hope you all have a great start to your week. Carie - I just saw that you updated on the last thread. Sorry I missed it, i'll add it in to the next update.

Hi All -

I'm down 2.4 this week........TOM this current week though so getting nervous that I'll gain - with only 4 weeks left on this challenge I'm realizing I have about 11 lbs left to lose...........I'm going to have to really UP the exercise!!

Sundevigal - as far as the threads - I personally like seeing a new week posted on a new thread because I like being able to see the chart updated from week to week but if it is too much for you to do that and post a new chart, etc - that is totally up to you. I feel like since you do all the work on keeping everyone's weight listed you really should be the one to make that decision based on what's easier for you.

Good luck this week everyone!!!

Hi again Sundevigal - Just to clarify - I am down 2.4 for the week of 8/2 - 8/8 - I weigh in on Saturdays so I think I have been maybe giving my w/i a week late? anyways just so I'm on the same page as everyone else its for week number 12 that I lost the 2.4.
thanks!

Thanks Erin! i'll adjust the chart for week 12 to show -2.4 for you. You are doing awesome!! and only 11lbs from your goal....you can make it. I know its tough having TOM but just keep your water up and my JCC always tells me to go for extra protein if i'm hungry - string cheese, cottage cheese, etc. Maybe that will help.

as for the updates, its really no problem to do. I was just thinking people mark the thread for automatic updates or like to go back and read what everyone's been up to. I would still post a new chart each week - just keep it within the the same thread to keep the momentum going. I'm good either way.

I had a great run last night along the beach. I'm focusing on uping my activity and keeping track of everything. i'll bust through these 190's this week. i can feel it! smile.gif

oh oh oh.... I don't think I will make my labour day goal! smile.gif

But I can proudly report that I think to have passed my plateau and have lost another couple pounds again. I am down to 251.4 lbs now and hope to get below 250 by end of august. Maybe even to 248 by labour day but surely not to 238! smile.gif

Anyway... have a great week everyone and all the best !!

Thanks for the new chart SDG.

Great job Erin, you can make it. Even if some people won't make their goal try and make it as close as you can.

SDG, the mudrun sounds so fun. I looked in New England and here they are done with Monster trucks. Not quite the same. I have found warrior runs, but I think I'm not there yet. Maybe when I'm 55. Which is funny because all the pictures are of 21 year olds. I have visions of guys like the ones I work with helping me over the obstacles. They will think it's great that an old lady is out there doing the run. Not sure they'll want me to hang around long at the keg party afterward. There is a warrior run the day before my half marathon. It's planned by a former navy seal. I better start doing more strength training.

Hope everyone has a ggod week.

Hey Everyone,

In response to some of the posts in the LAST thread, with people mentioning they've been having a hard time losing over the summer, or Hitting Plateaus:

I think it definetely has something to do with the summer, and the BBQs, and the somewhat less regimented day to day stuff. I'm finding I'm having a harder time during the summer to stay on plan also.
For me I think it's because it's so nice out, that I go out with friends, and while you're walking around the park, and talking, it's so much easier to walk around with something you bought at that little cafe, then bringing your own food.
I'm glad to say that I haven't done too much indulging in that sense. but it's still hard to say no all the time.

Thanks for all the well-wishes!
I'm doing great!
Two weeks after my surgery exactly, and I'm back to work on Monday, and I've been running since this past monday.

I joined my running workshop from the Running Room as I planned, and I've done three 'runs' this week (*They're the first week only, so they're more walking than running*)
I'm looking forward to getting back to work, and getting back into my routine.
It's so hard for me to watch myself when the rest of my day is so willy nilly.
I'm glad I actually started my running, and I can't wait until October for my 5Ks!
I'm doing TWO!
The CIBC Run for the Cure, and then a Hustle for Hunger Fun Run with the folks in the workshop I'm taking.

I also plan to start actively training in January for a Half Marathon in May!
So excited.
Who would have though in February when I started, that I'd be 1.2 lbs away from 50 lbs down, and planning to train for a half marathon!
lol..

It's a long way for me to have come, and I couldn't be happier!

I hope everyone elses week is going fantastic! I'll talk to you all soon.

Hi Sundevil and Friends,

Went to my WI this morning and I am down 1.8 lbs for the week. I am so excited that this is working so well for me, even when I did hit plateau's. Eventually excercise and eating according to the plan will beat those discouraging plateaus every time...it's the law of physics although when it's happening it seems like you'll be stuck there forever.

Yesterday I got rid of over 40 items of clothing that no longer fits. Never before have I had the confidence to believe that I could clean out what is too big because I know I'm not going back there again...ever!

I still have another 24 lbs to lose but already I look much better and feel more confident. I'm not ashamed to go out in public and be seen any longer either.

Thank God I joined Jenny Craig and I'm really willing to make the changes to look better and feel healthier.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Hugs
Robin

Hey Everyone!

Just a quick pop-in update
Hope everyone's doing well!!

Congrats on the 1.8 Robin.
biggrin.gif Feels great huh?

I went for my WIN just this afternoon, and I'm down another .6
That puts my challenge current weight to 217.
I won't hit my challenge goal of 199, but that's okay.
It's been a tough couple of weeks for me, what with the surgery and all, so I'm just biding my time to get back into my routine and start kicking as* again. smile.gif

Talk Soon!
Marcella

Good morning everyone!!

hey Marcella - I am sooooo proud of you for starting to run again so soon after your surgery! Wow!!! really amazing!!! And you are right. I thought Summer would be easier because of the fresh fruits and veggies that are available and in season. But now I have to admit that during the summer I go out way more often to meet friends and that makes sticking to the plan much harder! But so far I am doing o.k. I think I left my pleateau behind which I am very very grateful for and now I can start working towards my next goal again!

i do have to revice my goal though! I don't think I will make the 238 lbs by Sep 6! But I should be able to be down at 245 lbs.

Sundevilgirl: would you mind changing my goal to 245 lbs please???

Oh and these are my new stats:

last weight 254.4
CW 250.6
loss 3.8 lbs
Goal weight: 245 lbs

Have a great weekend everyone!!! And thanks to Sundevilgirl for this thread and keeping our scores! I agree that we should just add to this one thread without openening a new one every week! It'll be just fine!

Hi Everyone,

WI this morning I lost 1lb, this week, slow and steady... The sad part is that I haven't strayed off plan and I've up'd the exercise. I guess this is when the old part and getting closer to goal kicks in. I can live with the closer to goal part since the closer I get the younger I'll feel.

Brigit, great loss congrats. I bet you can't wait for the cooler fall weather and the nice crisp weather for biking.

Robin, congrats on both your losses, lbs and clothes. wink.gif Happy shopping! Won't it be so much fun to go shopping for clothes. I can't wait for spring when I'll finally be at goal. Then I'll feel like I can really shop, since right now I hate to spend much on clothes I won't wear long. Plus I'll just be taking them to the Salvation Army.

Marcella, your a beast! I mean that in the nicest way. What determination you have to be up and out jogging already. Watch out for side stitches since your parts are still settling in, literally. Oh and a tip I learned when I had my gall bladder out, vaccuuming, (the motion), hurts for some reason for weeks after the surgery. I didn't beleive the person who told me, tried and ouch. Must be where the dashes go through.

Time to go walking

Sorry for the delay on this. Here is the updated chart. If i missed anything, let me know.

Carie: I got your post after I sent the file to my DH to convert. But i'll note it on my excel file. So am i putting +2 for week 12 and then -2 for week 13?

BreakAway: I put your all of your lost in wk 13. I realize it was probably over time, so if you want me to correct, just let me know.

Hang in there everyone - just 3 more weeks!

I dusted myself off and went back into centre yesterday. Had not really gained, but hadn't lost either. Its been close to 5 weeks since I was last in. I'm on day 2 of plan and feeling good. I have my sights set on these next few weeks to just put my head down and produce great results. I know it works so its a great opportunity to focus on my motivation and behaviors to make it sustainable for the long term.

hope you're all having a good start to your week!!

Just came back from my weigh in and I'm down 1.1 lbs at the center, but more on my home scale since I had about 1 gallon of water before I got there.

Nevertheless I have a 1.1 lb loss for the week and I'll take it. It doesn't fall off of me like it did in the first weeks but every drop just gets me closer to my goal and I know I'm going to make it.

Pilates and Kinetics are awesome workouts. I read on a post here somewhere to keep my treadmill work at a fat burn heartrate which is way slower than cardio but that has helped me get past being stuck at the same weight week after week. Too discouraging when we work this hard to do the deal right. I also found out that I'm supposed to work out 3 days on and then take 1 day off. That really does seem to do the trick!

My biggest challenge always and forever is that I'm addicted to sugar. But for the first time in my life I have cookies, ice cream and red licorice in my cabinets and freezer and I don't sit down and eat all of it in one or two days. This has NEVER happened for me before. I finally feel like I have learned how to eat like a 'normal person'.

Last night I took a JC chocolate brownie, split it in two, put about 1/2 tsp of peanut butter on each side and then spread some (1/4 cup) Weight Watchers chocolate fudge ice cream in the middle and refroze it. That was my dessert last night...I'm telling you I could sell these things! It was SO good and I was satisfied with the treat without having to have more.

Thank God for Jenny Craig, exercise, my counselor's support and all of you. I am so happy with the way I'm looking...and feeling.

It's amazing to know it truly is possible to reshape yourself and your life.

Have a super weekend!

Good for you for going back into the centre. When we get off track a bit, it can be difficult to go back out of embarrassment, fear of disappointment, or for whichever other reason. I sometimes feel like I let my consultant down when I have a gain. But in the end, I know I'm in the right place at JC than trying to develop my own plan. You are also in the right place, not letting the past determine your future success. You are on the right track and just take one day at a time

Happy Sunday!

WI this morning down 1lb, 2.8lbs to go. I'll probably make it to 154 but it will most likely be 154+ . something. I seem unable to breakout of this 1lb and no more phase. I have 2.8 to my Labor day goal. Plus my work will be very demanding until Columbus day, not to mention training for the half marathon and transitioning to running. What was I thinking, oh yeah, My body is the priority. I got all JC food no MOMO this week because I'm feeling so stressed I figured that was the best plan. It is wonderful to have this food to fall back on when so much else is on my plate. I know it's not the best but it gives me a chance to catch my breath.

Sounds like everyone is doing well, or has a handle on why the scale isn't going like they want it to, if that's the case. SDG, big hugs for you getting yourself back on plan.

I ran my first full mile this week, okay run is a huge exagerration, slowly troted. But it felt like I was flying to me. Probably my batwings flapping in the breeze. laugh.gif I know it wasn't pretty, caught a look at myself going past an antique shop window, now there's irony. I definitely looked like an antique trying to run. But I ran 1 mile straight no walking and ran most of the 2nd mile. WOOOO HOOO. I need to get my long walk in today since we're finally getting rain on Mon. - Wed. Hope everyone has a good week. Take care.
