I have found since Jenny Craig began working with the new computer program for consultations, the time required for a consultation takes longer than the 20 minutes allocated for each appointment. For the last 3 weeks my consultations have lasted 40 minutes. On one occasion, I had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment time to see the consultant. I strongly recommend Jenny Craig either revise the computer system to improve its speed or increase the time frame for each consultation.

Oh my goodness, I SO SO agree, my JCC says everytime I talk to her that they are still working the bugs out and next time we talk it will be much quicker...lol....that was like 2 months ago and it still takes more time than it used to....I dont see where this program they started is supposed to be more effective....not yet anyway.

My centre just made the switch about 3 to 4 weeks ago - definately agree with both of you. I usually have a 6:30 appointment, and the last couple weeks it is usually after 7pm by the time I start my consult. I do what I can to help speed things up - I print my menu items for the upcoming week so my order takes as little time as possible. I'm thinking of changing time slots (which would mean changing consultants) to an early morning time - I figure they should be running more on time at the start of the day.

Can I also add something silly about the new system? For two years I was so used to my JCC having the physical chart and immediately telling me if I lost weight or not once I stepped on the scale ... now she has to go plug the numbers in to see. It's TORTURE!

Silly, I know. ;-)

I have only been a member since the new - so no comparison but my consultant must look up my stats prior because she knows immediately if I lost or gained! AND my center does NOT have high speed internet connection - are you kidding - really!

Im new to the program, just signed up. And i work in computers for a living (installing systems, troubleshooting, etc..) the problem isnt exactly with their software from what I saw. My consultant used a web-based program to set me up (makes sense, allows JC to keep everything centralized and they dont exactly need software locally)... but the JC by me uses WYSE computer systems, the same kind used by FedEx and UPS I believe... basically they are very very tiny computers (fit behind a monitor) that have absolutly no processing power (don't need it, they arnt running programs locally).

Since they are such small devices and don't have a lot of technology to them, they don't run as fast. Now even though its a web-based program, they need a little more OOMPH to get going.

So i think thats where the slowness came on my visit, watching the consultant waiting for the screen to take in the orders or go to the next screen seemed to take a little too long. Scrolling up/down for food took a bit.

JC should invest some money into better terminals for the consultants
Week 1 Start: 215.2 (C: 43, W: 42, A: 41.5, H: 45.5)
Week 6 Start: 200.0 (C: 42, W: 40, A: 40, H: 45)
Week 12 Start: 191.0 (C:41, W: 38, A: 39, H: 44)
Week 19 Start: 189.2 (C: 39.5, W: 37.5, A: 37.5, H: 42.5)

Week 27 Start: 187.0 (C: 39, W: 37.5, H: 38)

Total Lost: 28.2 pounds

Hey Adam, I was wondering about those new computers...all in one I think they call them....so you dont really advise getting one? They look real sleak, but I was thinking they cant hold much memory being so tiny.

I've found the opposite - since the new program, I don't have to wait for someone to pull my food. By the time my JCC and I are finished chatting and go out to the reception desk, my food is waiting. It takes fewer steps to process my payment and I'm on my way!

The screens do take a little longer than I'd like to load. And thank you, Adam, for the explanation! As for a 20 minute delay: your centre's just blaming it on the computers. We all run on the same system. Why isn't EVERYONE complaining that their centre's running behind. Sometimes the JCCs click on the wrong tab, or slip up, or forget they're not logged on, or whatever.... and BLAME it on the computer being slow... even when it's running on normal (For us, anyway) speed. I've heard it. Trust me.

Again, we all run on the same system. I definitely wish it were faster. And at times it has gotten ridiculously slow. But that's no excuse for running 20 mins late. It's OUR JOB to run on time. No excuses.. not even the computer.

Just my opinion.

I can't believe I am reading this post - from ONE year ago and can add that it is STILL bad!! It seems one out of 4 times I go in the system is down. Seriously - I don't carry the amount of cash on me that I need to pay for my weekly food and when the system is down they have to write down my CC number, really?

I fax my order to them in the morning, it's entered in the computer when I get there, sometimes the order is already bagged too.

I would walk out if I had to wait 30 minutes, maybe even 20 minutes.
