I did not plan on joining Jenny Craig last week, but I did. After completing ONE week on Thursday, I am SO GRATEFUL that my next door neighbor, my consultant, convinced me to join. I weighed 128 lbs when I got married almost 11 years ago, and am now VERY close to 200 lbs. YIKES!!! How I allowed myself to get this way is terrible and embarrassing! But I am proud to say that I lost 4 lbs my FIRST week. I am on my way and am not ever going back. I'm out of the 190s---currently 187.8---and looking forward to the 170s. My goal for now is to reach 150 lbs. Michelle, my consultant, says that I can do that by December....hmm, I'll have to see it to believe it. The fact that I have stayed on track the last 9 days keeps me determined to get there.

I still have yet to get back into working out. It's 11:30am now, and I really have nothing keeping me from going to the gym today. I'm going to do it---not sure what exercises/activities I'm going to do, but if I keep huffing/puffing for at least 30 min. that would be a true accomplishment.

Ok....I'm off and running (not literally =)). I'll check back later.

You can do it!!! I def. recommend Jenny Craig! If you stick with the plan (including water, food and activity), the plan works!

Hang in there AND welcome!

First, congratulations on making the decision to lose the weight.

I wasn't quite at your weight but at almost 180 lbs and 5'2, I also was LARGE for my frame.

Most people will lose the weight in the time frame that your consultant gave you. For a variety of reasons, it took me A LOT longer to lose the 45 lbs but I stuck with it and I lost it and have kept it off for almost two years. And believe me, in the end, it didn't matter that it took me longer to do it. What matters is keeping it off.

So stay on track. Follow the program and you'll be a slimmer version of yourself before you know it. smile.gif

Thank you Phyllis for giving me a realistic look at what lies ahead. I am pleased to see so many success stories through Jenny Craig, and I can't wait until I, too, can be one of those successes.

I just completed week 3 and have lost a total of 7 lbs since the start. I am eager to continue seeing the weight come off. I have struggled for a very long time, and I want to see the old me again. My initial weight loss goal is 150 lbs, but i would ultimately like to shoot for 135 lbs.

Congratulations on your achievements! I will continue to use all of JC's resources to help me reach my goals, too! rolleyes.gif

I too just started yesterday 8/30/10. I am also 5'2" @ 184 lbs. My first day went very well. I only started with 2 weeks of food to try and see if I like it, because it is very expensive and being out of work right now I need to be careful on where I'm spending. I hope I can continue, because I like the fact that everything is planned out for you in the right portion sizes. Well good luck on your weight loss journey and I wish you much success!!! smile.gif
