Robin, Yay for you. Under 150 @home. I do the same thing and my scale is off about the same. Last week mine was in the 150's but JC said 160. I think Sara Rue looks fantastic too. Keep going we will get there.

Awesome job.
Nancy
thanks so much Nancy - I swear it's because I vamped up the exercise SO much last week - I started doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred - I did it 5 days out of seven last week. I was ready to die and also ready to throw my weight at jillian's head - but I felt GREAT when I was finished and it looks like my body (at least last week) agreed with it!!! I have a feeling I might be up this week though - I feel TOM looming around the corner.
Thanks for the kind words though - I appreciate it - have a great week and good luck!!!

So sorry I've been AWOL.
It's been a craazy couple of weeks.
I got back from Toronto and at my WIN I stayed the same.
I was ready to get back on track, and get going again,
And then I landed in the hospital with Gallstones. (last monday)
I had to have my gallbladder removed.
So, after almost four days sitting there in the hospital, fasting, with no food or drink, NOT EVEN WATER,All the while being hooked up to an IV, (*4 bags they gave me! at LEAST!*)
I had my gallbladder removed, and was discharged from the hospital the next afternoon (thursday).
On my usual WIN day, (friday) I went into my centre to weigh in.
I went UP 3.8
(So my challenge weight AFTER the WIN where I stayed the same is PLUS 3.8 *223.8*)
I didn't buy any food, because I still had all of the previous weeks food from the hospital stay, I just followed WW with my parents until the monday where I had left off.
SO I ate my own food over the long weekend, which was nice, Because we went out to a cabin for my great uncles 90th birthday, and enjoyed the BBQ food.
And then monday I was back on JC 100%.
So my week has gone well.
No major setbacks.
Had a movie night at my place with some girlfriends, and maybe overate a little of the fruit platter, but hey. Of everything out there that I could have over eaten a bit, fruit is the least of my worries.
So, then I went to weigh-in this afternoon, and
*drumroll please*
I lost 6.2!
I went down the 3.8 i gained and THEN some!
yay!
So my current weight for this week of the challenge, is 217.6!!
I am sooooo excited about that!
yippee!
I am so stoked to get the next week underway,
Full steam ahead!
Hope everyone's week is going great!
Talk soon!
Marcella

Psychologically it was a big boost to drop under 150 and I'm sure the same for you when you hit the 150's! I remind myself that it may take me 33 weeks to lose all 43 pounds I want to drop but I look a lot better than I have in almost 2 years so I'll be happy with the progression downward.
I've never in my life engaged in a weight loss program that moved at this slow a pace (which is undoubtedly why I have put it back on over and over again).
I'm definately changing the way I eat and my exercise habits and doing it gradually means it will stay away for good. I don't mind going through this process as long as I know I can make it a lifestyle.
One thing about JC's program...I'm never hungry. I guess I should say that if I become hungry I have learned to make choices that fill me up without sabotaging my weight loss. THAT alone makes this program valuable to me!
I'm glad to read everyone's posts too. When I started this challenge of 25 pounds by Labor Day I thought, 'no problem'. Well it hasn't been quite what I expected and I may not make that goal (although I'll be close if I miss it). More importantly I have come to recognize and value the changes and benefits I am receiving as a committted participant in our group.
Hugs

Wow that is incredible, congratulations! And especially congratulations for not using your health issue as an excuse to stop working the program...that is seriously a very big deal!

I am so sorry I have been offline for a week or so! Things have been busy and I went on a couple dates but decided that sticking to Jenny is more important than dating men that are not really what I am looking for. I think I will rather wait a while and concentrate on my life change with Jenny.
Since I have been eating off plan a few times this week and didnt bike ONCE to the office I am back up to 254.4 lbs which sucks, but that's how it is! The cheesy chicken enchilada was good though... and the cocktail that went down with it too!
So my new stats:
CSW 263.4
CW 254.4
GW 238
gain since last week: 2.8 lbs
Back on track now and enjoying the time with my doggie and less stress and hectic! A perfect weekend!
So... I see you all have had a great week and things are going well!
Marchee I am sooooo happy for you and especially that you are feeling better now after your surgery! Well done girl!!
All the best to everyone! Have a great weekend and an even better start in the new week!
Cheers

Welcome to the club of the little digits on your belly. Atleast since you sound like it since your doing so well, I'm guessing it was laproscopic. Hope so the other way is much tougher. Speaking of toug,h so are you for staying on track so well. Make sure your eating really healthy you need all your nutrients to heal well.
Congrats on the HUGE loss. Oh if you haven't found out yet it really hurts to vaccum the next few weeks.
Brigt, Good to hear from you. You'll be back down in no time. It's got to be tough to find a guy who can out do JC triple chocolate cheeseecake. Besides keep biking and wait for the cutie you'll meet when your doing a bike race someday.
SDG, I always find being on the brink of the next decade the hardest. Robin is right psychologically, getting to the next decade is such a lift. You'll get there, how long are the races you and the DH have planned?
Robin, slow and steady will win the race. Are you mixing up your routine? I find keeping my body confused quite easy as I'm often confused myself. I have been getting lots of activity in this week that I've been off. Hoping it will really pay off at the WI on Sun. I've actually been pretty hungry sice yesterday, I need to go to the farmers market and get some free foods. DH and I went to have fun yesterday and I didn't get the shopping done, so that's on the list for today.
I hope it's as gorgeous a day for all of you as it is in New England today. Perfect, time to get outside and get walking.

That said I am going to go strangle my own scale as last week it said 158 and I was 160 at JC, this week it said 155 and I'm 158.8 even 159 for a second at JC but they counted the 158.8. It wouldn't seem so bad if I hadn't stayed on plan for my birthday, stayed on plan during vacation and walked 35 miles. UGH! Ok enough whining now I need to just go kill my scale.
Time to go weed and dead head my garden, gets rid of the stress. Have a great Sunday.

Congrats on your loss Nancy! You are right on target with your LDChallenge!! My husband and I are signed up for a 5k 'adventure' race. Its on the beach and we do all different types of challenges/obstacles. And the other is a 5k mud run. I'm really looking forward to both! I think they'll be a lot of fun.
Brigit - i'm right there with you. We'll be back down in no time!! Less stress and time with your pup sounds perfect!
Marcella - Wow! What a great loss and week that you had. So empowering - isn't it!
Robin - I can relate to a lot of what you said. It is a slow process for me too and although i've been a bit off the last few weeks, i'm happy that I haven't gone back up and just thrown in the towel. I certainly recognize my behaviors and realize i'm more in the Mind stage as that certainly affects the Food and Body!
So with all of that being said, i'm going to put some new songs on my IPod and head out for a run with my pup. Then we'll be off to enjoy the day with the kids. Maybe even hit the beach. Have a happy sunday everyone and i'll put the chart together tonight for a new week ahead!
Cheers

Although I love setting goals for myself, they are not there for me to obsess over like I tend to do at times. I completely got off track this week but I want to just brush it off and start this week fresh. I appreciate hearing about your weeks, whether there is weight loss or not. There are good weeks and bad weeks and I'm learning more that I don't have to beat myself up if I mess up.
I am going back to the basics. Lot of water, walking, and eat everything on the menu. I will report next week to see how it worked.

I am san to report that I was up 2 lbs for week 11. I am just not feeling it right now! WHAAAAA!! I am in a funk! Hopefully I can get back on track, there is just so much going on right now and I haven't had the motivation to plan/prepare to eat anything other than what is brought for potlucks/BBQs etc. Let me re-phrase - I will get back on track!
Have another WI tomorrow.....we'll see.....
Have a great day!

Just wanted to update that I'm 169.4!!!! I haven't seen the 160s since last year so I'm so happy I've at least lost the weight I gained during grad school. I'm finally on my way down! I'd be happy with getting to my halfway goal of 165 by labor day.
Yes Carrie, Mermaid, getting on track is HARD and sometimes I feel unmotivated. Especially when there are SO many BBQs in the summer. Maybe we can let ourselves have 1-2 days a week of letting go? I feel that's what I've done this summer because I get tired of saying no, can't have that, not that either....ugh carrots, I want mac and cheese!
BTW, I just got the new FiveFingers and I LOVE them. It's motivated me to walk EVERYWHERE. I walk to the grocery store, Target, anywhere within a mile or two. I highly recommend them for any type of foot. Mine are super flat and I feel a difference in my foot muscles - no pain when I walk!
Anyhow, hope everyone's summer is going well. So glad to read about the wins too
Marchee, I hope you're recovering ok! Sounds like quite an experience. Glad to hear from you!!

It's been a VERY long time!
How've you been!??!
Glad to hear you're in the 160s! congrats!
That's awesome.
I think it definetely has something to do with the summer, and the BBQs, and the somewhat less regimented day to day stuff. I'm finding I'm having a harder time during the summer to stay on plan also.
For me I think it's because it's so nice out, that I go out with friends, and while you're walking around the park, and talking, it's so much easier to walk around with something you bought at that little cafe, then bringing your own food.
I'm glad to say that I haven't done too much indulging in that sense. but it's still hard to say no all the time.
Thanks for all the well-wishes!
I'm doing great!
Two weeks after my surgery exactly, and I'm back to work on Monday, and I've been running since this past monday.
I joined my running workshop from the Running Room as I planned, and I've done three 'runs' this week (*They're the first week only, so they're more walking than running*)
I'm looking forward to getting back to work, and getting back into my routine.
It's so hard for me to watch myself when the rest of my day is so willy nilly.
I'm glad I actually started my running, and I can't wait until October for my 5Ks!
I'm doing TWO!
The CIBC Run for the Cure, and then a Hustle for Hunger Fun Run with the folks in the workshop I'm taking.
I also plan to start actively training in January for a Half Marathon in May!
So excited.
Who would have though in February when I started, that I'd be 1.2 lbs away from 50 lbs down, and planning to train for a half marathon!
lol..
It's a long way for me to have come, and I couldn't be happier!
I hope everyone elses week is going fantastic! I'll talk to you all soon.
