Hi Everyone - welcome to week 9 of our 16 week challenge! i've got the chart updated, but hubby already went to bed and forgot to have him convert it for me. But I didn't want to delay in posting a new thread for our week 9.

As a total right now, we have lost 160lbs with 397 to go for our total goal. Keep up the great work! I'll post the chart tomorrow, but go ahead and post any updates here.

Yay! This is so exciting! I am dropping my vacation weightgain and with a little bit of luck I should be back where I started before vacation by end of this week. The goal will be tough to reach, but whatever! It's about progress, not perfection!

P.S: What kind of activity did you do or are you planning to do today??

I biked to work. I will also bike back home (8 km/5miles one way) and I am meeting a friend at the pool tonight after work if the weather permits. I usually try to swim 15 - 20 minutes constantly (but slowly).

Hi Brigit!

You are so right. It is about progress, not perfection. sometimes when i get down about not losing weight fast enough, i have to remind myself that i've lost 32lbs! that's pretty amazing.

My activity goal today is to go to my kickboxing class tonight. I'm really excited as i love it. I'm looking forward to it.

Have a great ride to work and enjoy the swim. Such wonderful exercise.

I was looking at the chart and I think I might have skipped a week somewhere. I'm not sure which week I forgot so here is each weeks progress...

Week 1: 374.2 (Start weight)
Week 2 - 369.4 lbs (-4.8)
Week 3 - 365.8 lbs (-3.6)
Week 4 – 367.6 lbs (+1.8)
Week 5 – 363 lbs (-4.6)
Week 6 – 365.6 lbs (+2.6)
Week 7 – 360.2 lbs (-5.4)
Week 8 – 355.4 lbs (-4.8)
Week 9 - Will find out Sunday

Wow! We've almost lost as much as I weigh. That is such a strange feeling to realize that. Now I know how my dog feels when I look at her and think I've lost her and more. Trust me we've lost alot.

Brigit, Congrats on getting your self back on track after the vacation. That's really hard for alot of people to do, so you are to be commended for that one. Plus your back on the bike, Yay! I have serious pool envy for you, it sounds so nice to go to a pool each night. What a nice reward/workout each night after your ride home.

I tried P90X and got my butt kicked, actually my abs. It made me feel like I'm about 120 years old. So it's clear where the work needs to happen. I think I need pre-P90X, I'm not ready for it and have enoromous respect for anyone who can do even 1/2 of it let alone all of it. I definitely need to work on my core strength. Plus I think it will help with my kayaking and walking.

What are you all doing or have done to strengthen your core? Need suggestions so I start slow and build, not giving myself an excuse to give up.

Ok, I'm back from vacation and I'm down 1.4 pounds...finally!

I managed to walk my 5 miles per day for 6 of the 7 days I was gone BUT since my husband and I are getting divorced we had an emotional exchange during that time and for 1.5 days I went face down in food. I mean really bad. Then I woke up the next morning and decided that if I cheated (even badly) 1.5 days of every 60 I would still reach my weight loss goal if I stayed on program.

Discouraged as I was I got right back to focusing on the positive and accepting this is a lifetime change of eating habits and therefore I have to learn to eat to live even when life throws me curve balls.

I guess that's why I'm so pleased with my WI today.

I won't be doing a WI for week 9. They had to cancel my appointment today and I can't do it any other time. Kind of glad though - I normally WI on Tues so I am happy I can just slip back into my routine! Keep kickin butt ladies!

Morning everyone
Just back from WI and I am down 1.2lbs. I think I should change my ticker to a turtle! I haven't been able to walk as it has been so freaking hot here.
Hopefully next week I will hit my 10 pound goal.

Back from the WI and a quick trip around the lake kayaking before the heat came in full force. So I'm down 1.6lbs. Hoping to get 3.8 lbs off by my Aug1st WI.

Robin, great job on your WI. Your an inspiration to be doing so well while going through so much. Big hugs to you. Excellent job on the walking too.

Bonnie, I hear you about the heat. When I got home from kayaking it was 81 and breezy, by the time I got my running shoes on the breeze was gone and it was 88. So maybe I'll get the walk in tonight. Hope you cool down soon.

Thanks Nancy, I'm glad I didn't throw in the towel.

I just got home from my first spin class in 8 years! It's exciting to be motivated to get back on the bike and work up a real sweat. Of ocurse I couldn't keep up with the class but I was happy to make it through and participate...small steps.

Not to minimize your heat situation but I live in Scottsdale Az and at 10:30 am it was 104*...we should hit 109* today only because we have afternoon showers coming to 'cool things off'. I miss those Idaho mornings at 67*. When it was 75* in the evening I'd put on a sweater and people looked at me like I was crazy.

These forums are so great, reminding me I'm not alone whether I'm feeling up or down. No matter what I'm going to hit that goal of 123. I may be 50 in October but I'm going to feel 35!

Hello everyone!!

You all doing great!! And some really interesting activities like kickboxing! Wow!

Talking about meeting great people: Not only did I meet a great friend on this forum but I also met another two girls who are really awesome and my circle of friends is growing rapidly! It's amazing!

Even though my TOM came early I have actually lost a pound over night which I am totally psyched about. usually I am gaining on those days! YAY!

So my new weight is 253.6 lbs

I only have to lose another 1.6 lbs to hit my 10% goal which would be amazing! Such a great feeling! And saying goodbye to the 50s is my next goal for August!

All the best ladies and have a great start in the new week!

I lost 1.2
bringing my current weight to: 220 even.

I just got home from a great trip to Toronto, where I met with two lovely lovely ladies from the forums. smile.gif

I went in yesterday for my WI for week 9 and between vacation 2 weeks ago and TOM last week, I gained 2lbs!! GROSS!!! I guess its gonna be lots of walking and lots of water this week!
