I went back to my JC Center last Friday after being away since last November. Of course I had regained about 20 pounds in that time. I lost 5 pounds this week which is good, but not unexpected for the 1st week in my history with JC. Since Nov. my center became totally computerized. It now takes TWICE as long as before to go in, get weighed, and order my food! Such PROGRESS!

BTW during the week I discovered the multi grain hoops cereal contain about 170 calories in a package while the same amount of Cheerios Multi Grain contain 110 calories at a MUCH lower price. I really miss the triple grain crisps.

hello! glad to see someone else post here. this is my first week on JC (my first weigh in is monday). and i've had a good start. disappointed to see the lack of postings here on the "men on Jenny" board. so i'm happy to see someone else appear. i think supporting each other is key. i don't know anyone else on JC, personally. wishing you much success...

I think it is safe to say men generally post less than women. Men seem to think they don't need support from others which is not always true. Of course if JC did more advertising which featured men the situation might change.

Just back from my weekly JC visit. The center continues its changes. I now have a new person to see as my 'old one' has transferred to another center. This one is much faster on the computer which I like. I gained one pound which is not a surprise. I went out to dinner on the 4th and strayed WAY off the program. I went back to the program on the 5th or it would have been worse.

My center now closes on Friday and Saturday at 2 PM as do the other San Francisco area centers. That seems odd to me.

THREE more pounds gone this week! I'm really liking the new woman I'm seeing at JC. I can be in and out in 20 min. or so.

Keep it up! It's good to know that us guys can lose weight quickly when we put our minds to it.

Guys - the program works very well for men if you work it the right way. See my tips below that have got me great results here in 20 weeks. A lot of the women need a lot of support, men not so much. We just need to get the rules, decide if we are serious about it and go get it done.

However, if you really want to get into the mindset needed, Get "100 days of weight loss" by Linda Spangle - Killer book

4.67 pounds lost this week which was a real surprise because I went out to dinner two nights ago and ate 'normal' just like the rest of the people with me. I even had 2 drinks and wine, so I expected to gain this week. The next morning I got on the scale and had lost TWO pounds! We all commented how small the portions were which probably saved me, and I ordered fish for both courses which helped too.

I actually GAINED 1.2 pounds this week! I only 'strayed' from the plan on Monday for lunch when I ate at a restaurant, but did not over due it then. My JC person actually thinks I may ned to slightly increase my calories each day.

I start back on JC tomorrow. I had great results a few year ago. I have made up my mind this is the last time I yo-yo back and forth on weight. I am going to take it off again and keep it off this time!

Hey Digby,
same story over here. I justed started up again, after being away for awhile. I lost 7 pounds my 1st week. Suprised at the amount, but usually lose it quick. Do you notice the prices for the food are real high. They weren't that high when I first started. Good Luck.

Yes, the prices have gone through the roof! The dinners cost at least 3 times what you would pay for the same type dinner from Slim Cuisine or other such company. I am willing to pay it because the weekly weigh ins are my motivation, but there will be limits!

Been a long time member of JC and had tremendous results and kept the wieght off for quite a few years. Started back today with the mindset that I have the tools, knowledge, and support. Time to get off my rear and do my part again. Glad to see this support group here... when I first went to JC it was almost a freak show when a man walked into the centre... times do change.

As a member of the Jenny Craig Team AND a long-term client, I can see more men joining the program AND working for the company. We aren't just a "woman's" group anymore. Mostly, the stigma of a dude going for help losing weight is no longer an issue. Glad to see this Topic grow over the months.

Oh, and the prices of the food? When was the last time you went grocery shopping? All food is getting pricer. Next time you go shopping, take an empty box of a Jenny Craig dinner entree and compare the label to a Lean Cuisine or Weight Watchers dinner. The store brands have twice the sodium and sugars and 1/2 the fiber and proteins. You do get what you pay for... not to mention how much better the Jenny Craig foods taste over those other brands.

I did the program about three years ago and lost a total of about 15-20 pounds. I had a lot of work travel and frankly was not as devoted to the program as I am this time around. Why? Well I'm weighing the most I have ever weighed (232 when I started). After a week on the program I lost 6.4 pounds and I'm imagining that I'll do well this week as I have mostly stayed on the program all week long.
Today will be the first day that I'll be going back to the gym and frankly I'm glad I did not go until now so that my body could get used to the lower sugar levels and less food. Overall I'm very excited on the program! I'm not hungry on the program and I really like the food.I'm looking forward to my second weigh in this coming Wednesday!!
