Hello all. I am starting Jenny today. I've got about 185 pounds to lose. I've done Jenny before and am excited to get started again. I am sick and tired of being so overweight, always tired, back hurting, sweating at the slightest exhertion. I'm only 40 but I feel like I'm 140! I am ready to be healthy (and cute wink.gif ) again.

Along with doing JC, I have already started an exercise routine at Curves.

Looking forward to getting to know some of my fellow JC'ers.

Hello Deb,

I am also back on the program again. I have about 130 pounds to lose. I posted on another thread but I don't seem to be getting any responses. I am looking form someone to do this journey with and I am the type of person who likes to see a post every day. I am constantly on the comouter between school and work so I post a lot.

I am turning 40 in December and thought that I didn't want to do that at my current weight. So, back to Jenny I went. Tell us more about yourself. What do you do? Where do you live? I live in Southwest Florida and it's hot as can be here. I walk in the evenings mostly because it is much cooler.

I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully we can motivate each other to succeed!!

Hi Shari. More about me....hmmm...well, I am 40, single, no kids. I am an accountant with a fairly high pressure job. I am also going to school at night for my MBA. It's about to kill me, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel as I finish up in the fall. Yahoo!

I've struggled with my weight all my life, starting out as a chubby kid, and then spending most of my adult life fluctuating between the 190's and 230's. There was a brief period in my 20's where I was around 160-170 which looked good on me at 5'11''. The past 5 years my weight has gotten really out of control and I topped 300 for the first time ever. I am starting out at just under 350. I never thought I'd get here. But I've decided to get it together and live the healthy life I deserve!!!

Well, day three here and it was ok. Getting used to the food again. It actually feels like I am eating all the time.
Deb,
I am almost 40 (december), married with no kids, only 2 dogs who are like kids, lol. I know what you mean about school. I own my own business and I am in school full time to get my degree in legal studies. It's a lot and I really have to be up on my time management but I am doing well. Getting all A's so that's good. I was going to be an accountant but I couldn't do it. I have always been interested in law so I finally decided to do somthing about it.

I have also struggled with my weight my entire life. I wasn't the really fat kid but I was always a little larger than the other girls. I guess I really ballooned when I moved out into my own place and there was no one watching what I ate.

I am 5'7" and I have about 130 pounds to lose. I hope that we can be there for each other through this journey. My weigh in day is Wednesday. How about you?

I look forward to hearing from you again.

Hi Carrie,

I am looking for a weight loss buddy. I have about 130 pounds to lose. I am finished with week one, I weigh in tomorrow at 9am. We will see how it goes. I have done JC before so I understand the program. It's nice not to have to actually plan the meals.

Congrats on the 11.1 pounds so far!! That is a great start! What do you do for exercise? I walk around my neighborhood. This weeke I walked a miles on 5 days. I wanted to do more but the weather didn't cooperate.

Hope to hear from you again. I think we are the only 2 on here so far.

Hey Shari! Nice to meet you. Looks like we both have a long road ahead. When you were on the program previously how much did you lose and how long were you on it?

I don't mind being the only two. Better than so many people that I can't keep 'em straight. smile.gif

I am just starting the activity portion this week actually. This is my first time on the program, so I wanted to try a few weeks of just the food to see what it was like. This week I've made a goal to do at least 30 minutes of activity three times. I did half an hour today on the Wii's Biggest Loser program. I'd like to go for a walk and maybe dance my booty off a little. smile.gif

Carrie,

Sorry I did not write yesterday. I had a couple of big projects for school that I had to finish and this week has just gotten away from me.

I went on JC about 3 years ago and did really well. I lost 50 pounds in 6 months. That was pretty cool and I was doing a LOT of walking around my neighborhood. I probably walked about 12-18 miles a week. Then, of course, something stressful happened in my life and I fell off the wagon...HARD. I gained it all back. I tried again about a year and a half ago. I had broken my ankle and needed to get back on program. That didn't last long because I developed blood clots in my lungs from sitting around for 6 weeks. Bad time in my life. So I decided to get my crap together. I am back in school and loving it. I am all healed from my many health issues and now the only one I need to work on is my weight.

I lost about 3.2 pounds my first week and although I am glad it a loss, I was expecting to see more. I didn't sleep very well the night before and I know that has a big impact on my weigh in days so I am going to try and get more sleep this week. Plus I pushed my weigh in time back an hour.

Starting with the food is a good place to start. Get comfortable about what you are eating and get set in a routine. I usually don't eat my fruit until in the evening after dinner because I am a big evening snacker. You will know what feels right for you. Then incorporate the activity. Walking is the easiest thing you can do and it really will help. I lost 50 the first time around doing nothing but walking. I do have a personal trainer but I have taken the summer off because of school. (retarded me scheduled myself 12 semester hours for the summer...what the heck was I thinking??) I will go back to her again the second week in August. Lifting weights will speed up the weight loss and make you look slimmer even if the scale doesn't move.

Well, I am having spaghetti and meatballs tonight so I am going to go and make that..yum yum.

Talk to you soon!

P.S. Tell me some more about yourself. Where do you live? What do you do? yadda...yadda...yadda biggrin.gif

Sorry I haven't posted. I was away this weekend.

Well, just had my fifth weigh in this afternoon and found a disappointing zero. I know the factors that contributed to that, so it's not like it was completely out of my mind, but it is still disappointing. Onward and upward though. Tomorrow starts another week.

I need to start adding activity this week. I haven't yet pushed myself out the door to go for a walk in the neighborhood. I live on a major street and I'm not too comfortable with going walking where so many people can see me.

At least next week I'll be down to the 1,500 calorie a day plans. My problem before was usually not eating enough or the right stuff at the right times. Getting used to 1,700 calories a day and all the food it felt like I was eating, took a while. I'm looking forward to not eating quite so much.

As for more about me... not sure what to say. I live in Canada and have spent my career so far in the office administration field. I've been overweight my whole life. I was a chubby baby and always had extra weight. I was never skinny or of an average weight so I don't have any notion of what that would be like. My big picture goal is to lose 160 lbs, but I'm doing it in smaller chunks of about 30 lbs. I would just like to be healther, more fit and have more energy.

Carrie
