Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
I made it through my first weekend totally on plan, now on to the rest of the week.
My dog is loving it that I am back on JC...means double walks for him.

Brigit - I am so impressed that you bike to work. I would love to get to that point one day...I live at DonMills/Steeles & work at Dufferin /Steeles so it is not a huge distance...just worried about falling off the bike

Marcella - I love Wonderland, you will have a blast...just watch out for those funnel cakes, they are pure evil..lol

Helen - they have a women soccer team not far from where I live. I want to join it myself once I can run again

Well back to work

Skinny vibes to all.

How are some of you losing so much weight in such a short period of time???? I've been reading some posts that some of you have lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks, etc???? WOW!!! I've only lost 14 in 9 weeks!!! I work retail, therefore am walking all day long. I guess I don't drink enough during the day..... I have a 2 year old and can't get to a gym...there's not enough time in the day...What are your secrets???? Please let me know!!! You guys are doing great!!!!

I have lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks and it has been so motivating! It's slowing down now though - I only lost 1 lb last week. I am a big believer in watching calories along with eating right so I track EVERYTHING I eat and add up the calories. You would be suprised how a little bite of this or a little dash of that here and there add up. I don't eat any limited free foods and to save money I eat cold/hot cereal only - no breakfast entres. I drink lots of water during the week when I'm at work and though I'm "going" all the time I know it helps to not retain. I have gone out to eat on this plan and was even out of town on vacation but again, I write down everything I eat and add up the calories. The first week I was eating about 1350 and now I make sure I don't go over 1200. I exercise sporadically and know that it's time to step it up to keep the good losses going.

I think the number one piece of advice I would give is drink LOTS of water - it really helps to not retain.

Good luck to you and don't be disappointed if you think you should be losing faster. They say slow and steady is better anyway - I just get impatient, LOL

Hi Everyone,

Just went to my weekly weigh in and lost another 1.7 pounds so I'm down a total of 11 lbs in 4 weeks. I've lost more than the entire contents of a 10 lb sack of sugar in 30 days...whoo hooo (I'm very visual can you tell).

What is more exciting is that I was able to exercise today for the first time in 18 days since I came down with the flu and a severe resperatory infection. I only did 2 miles but I'll get back up to 5 miles per day in no time I'm sure.

Something I didn't realized happens at your 4th week, you (I) get to choose my own menus now! Boy am I excited that I know and chose everything on my eating plan this week...only food I know I will love because I've tried them all now.

My counselor Kris is really a sweetie and I look forward to seeing her when I go in. I am now 25% of the way to my goal weight. It's likely that in another 3 months I'll be able to wear my fabulous autumn sweaters with skinny jeans and boots.

I'm starting to feel a little sassy already!

Thanks SDG for the new thread and updates.

Everyone is doing really well. Holy cow, we've lost right around what I would ultimately like to weigh. And about the amount I want to lose. Yep I want to lose 1/2 of me. WOW!
One of my coworkers is very petite only 75lbs and I keep telling her that I'm going to loose her of my behind. She is great support for me and we work very well together. Since she is an artist and very visual she jokes how much of her is left. I told her she pretty much gone from the shoulders down.

eferr, Thanks I'm pretty happy with 49lbs in 22 weeks. How about playing like a two year old, run, jump, bounce around. Plus use the baby for strength training. The baby would probably have a great time working out too. I remember loving doing Jack Lalane with my mom back in the dark ages. Be prepared for your beby to think your really silly.

I do stick to plan pretty closely, I usually have a sugar free pudding in the evening, 2 limited foods. But I didn't start that till I got back to work at the garden center, which is alot of activity. I will probably switch to sugar free jello as the season slows down, that's a free food. clr825 is right water is key, keeps everything moving. Lately the hard part is remembering to eat since it has been so hot. Vary your workouts, so your body is confused then it will burn calories more efficiently. It also helps to have goals and a group to stay accountable to, tell people your goals and let them know how it's going. And not just virtually, tell your friends and coworkers. Hope that helps. Visualizing your loss really helps, how much does your baby weigh? I mean this nicely, an jokingly, lose the baby. I've already lost my dog. lol Robin is right, it's fun too.

So, staying accountable, walked 4 miles so far today. Planning MOMO for dinner. Plan on taking a dog for a long walk later. Have a good active night.

Well, since we've been using the Center's scale to track, put me down at 162.8 but my scale at home and my Wii Fit both said 159!! (at 6am this morning before food!)

Wow Everyone is doing so well!!! It is really an inspiring group. I am up 1.2# this week to 142.4. I ate out twice this week--but made very healthy choices (grilled salmon with roasted vegies both times). I think that the weight is all fluid retention. My hands and feet are definitely swollen. So my plan is to continue with my exercise, jc only food this week, and to drink LOTS of water. Have a great week everyone. It's summer!

Thanks everyone for the advice!! I will definitely be increasing my water intake this week and see if that helps! Yep, my daughter weighs about 30lbs so I would love to "lose" her! Well, I guess we"ll be dancing to Fresh Beat Band and Yo Gabba Gabba more aften now! I'm just gonna keep going and not give up!!!

Walk2lose,

Its funny what you said about support from others. I'm from a very Italian home and if my gandmother or mother see me eating a JC meal at Sunday dinner, they yell that I could have some chicken cutlet. Its not like I'm eating pasta! LOL They are too funny! So it can get difficult, but I do stick to my meals no matter how many times they look at me and shake their heads like I'm the crazy one who doesn't want to eat fried chicken or pasta with tomato sauce. LOL

I've got great support from my husband and my friends so I happy talking to them about it. smile.gif

eferr,

I undersrand I've had people who know I've lost weight, they've seen the change in me, tell me JC doesn't work. Oh and that the triple chocolate cheesecake can't taste good. Then they went and got mexican food, no calories there. lol I just stick to the plan. Wait till your family sees the difference, they be eating Classico Chicken Parmassan too. Yum.

Sundevilgal, will you please put me down for 0 loss on week 5? The loss I posted was a fluke bc I was sick and wasn't eating. But once I started feeling better, I bounced back up to 159. Grr..I've been stuck at this weight for WEEKS! angry.gif

Good Morning everyone,

Well... I went to WI (for the 1st time in a few weeks) and only lost .4. Not terrible since I haven't been following the plan very well and since I have TOM.

This weekend is going to be rough... we are moving into our new place in NYC and have no food or anything in the apartment. I travel for work so 4 days a week I'm in New Orleans (where I see my JCC) and the other 3 days I'm in NY. I'm going to try and find a JC up there to just purchase food so that I don't have to worry about staying on plan in New Orleans and going off it in NY.

This is going to be rough, but I know I need to start (or rather re-start) somewhere....

I'll check in next week! Have a good weekend!

I'll just do better next week! biggrin.gif

Didn't get to weigh in this week - had to get my car from being towed. I won't get in next week either probably because I am broke (this month killed me - deposit for DD's school, 2 different camp fees, end of the year after school fees, car repairs, then car getting towed PLUS DH's b'day and father's day), and I have a work meeting at my normal appointment.

Hello everyone!!! How was your week? I had my TOM and didnt expect much of a loss but just as clock work after my 4th day the water weight went away and I lost a nice 2.2 lbs! YAY!

Last week: 256.2 lbs
CW: 254.0 lbs

So next week I'll be on vaca and my goal is to not gain weight but maybe even lose 1 lb! We'll see! Lots of walks and seafood should be o.k.!

****

Hey Bonnie!
Thank you very much for your nice compliment! I really enjoy biking to work as long as the weather is o.k. Falling off the bike is not an issue! Really! If you have the option of either sidewalks or bike lanes or making a detour through ravines or a park you will be just fine! I havent been biking for years and it is really something you don't forget! Give it a try on a weekend and you will be surprised! I am sure downtown Toronto this weekend is a great place to bike too! It's a ghost town down there due to the G20!!! biggrin.gif

O.k. and now I am off to walk my dog! Argh.. it's pouring down rain outside. Nasty! But that's just how it is! biggrin.gif

Cheers and have a GREAT WEEK!!!

Hello gang:
I just came back from my first WI with a 5.0 lbs loss(249.8)! I know that it is only the first week and some of that is water weight but I am still thrilled.
I hope to lose 3 pounds next week but I am on holidays for the next 2 weeks so I'll have to be careful.

Brigit - Thanks for the advise on the bike. Since it will be raining all weekend I am going to have my boys make sure my bike is ready to go for Monday. I have a ravine with bike path right beside me so I will go there first to get over the jitters. I am not going anywhere near the downtown core. way too much drama down there wacko.gif

Hey Everyone -
wow everyone is doing so great this week - so inspiring - and those who have gained seem to know exactly why (went off plan for a while and expected a gain, TOM, etc) that is really great that we are all so aware of what we are eating, etc. and being connected to our bodies smile.gif

Well, I'm down 2.5 this week - it makes a total of 7.7lbs in 4 weeks. I also wondered why I was not losing higher numbers like some people have on here - I spoke to my JCC about it and she said a lot of it depends on how much weight you have to lose, also some people who used to drink a lot of soda and alcohol, etc - and switching to the smaller portions and giving up the excess sugar makes the lbs fall in larger numbers.

So to those of you not losing larger numbers every week - don't despair!! smile.gif It means that it will be that much easier to keep the weight off in the long run. Congrats everyone!!
