Wow Cindy, thanks for the inspiration. Too funny, checking the scale to make sure it was right...I bet! That' so exciting.

I've walked 5 miles 3 of the past 4 days. I didn't walk yesterday because I had an early morning meeting and living in Scottsdale it is HOT outside by 9 a.m. If I don't work out first thing in the morning it just doesn't happen.

But this morning I did a 4 mile video walk in my living room with a workout band and got cardio, stretching and an upper body workout too.

Not going to post my weight until I weigh in on Wednesday. I check my home scale and I'm down a little since last week but I am also trying not to let the scale rule my life. It didn't take me 2-3 weeks to gain 43 pounds and it's clear I won't lost it that fast.

Still, I'm proud of myself that I'm committed to the exercise and eating right...even though I have some very serious personal pressures going on. In fact those pressures helped me end up where I am now and I have made the decision not to allow what goes on in my world cause me to take it out on myself any longer. Face down in a feed bag doesn't make me happy or solve my dilemmas SO here I am!

Isn't amazing how taking care of ourselves affects how we deal with everything and how we are seen by others too?!

I hope everyone has a GREAT Sunday.

Hi!

So I had WI this morning, down 2.8lbs. But the bigs news is I just past my halfway point. So far total loss is 45.6 since end of Jan. Still don't know what to do to celebrate. The ideas I've had seem to change for one reason or another. I'm alittle nervous about MOMO since I have really stuck to JC food. But live and learn. Thinking of starting the couch to 5k training for this fall. Has anyone on here done this? Years ago I use to run and race all the time. I find it a great stress buster.

YAY Nancy smile.gif That's great! Maybe you should reward yourself with new clothes? something that shows off your new fitter figure!

I think running is a great idea. It definitely builds your confidence when you complete a 5k with a group of people! I'm planning on running a 10k in September (when I'm done with grad school) and this race is something my father used to do when I was a little girl.

Let me know how your running goes! then you'll be run2lose wink.gif

Break,

I'm going to have to get new clothes and new friends. I'm almost 54 and my friends don't run, and don't plan to. I ask one of my coworkers to run the Turkey trot with me this fall, she's 23. But I would like to find some women my age to plod along with, not sure I can keep up with 23 year olds. ohmy.gif

Hi Cindy!!
That's wonderful! Congratulations!!! What do you think was the reason for your great success last week? Have you worked out more? Or changed other habits?

All the best!!
Brigit

Hi Brigit,

I think the reason for the loss was adding exercise. I hadn't done much at all prior to last week. I have an exercise video that has some cardio in it that I did one day, then a couple days later did the other half that worked the lower body - leg lifts, crunches (my stomach muscles are still sore!) - things like that. That is what I think made the difference so I'm definitely keeping it up. I also never eat any of the "limited" foods and track calories - I never go above 1200. I know I can't expect 4 lbs every week but I'll take this one!

Wow Robin you're an exercise fiend - good for you! Do you like the exercise band workout? I was eyeing the one they have in the center and thought about buying it - they said it's $29.99. I like to exercise first thing in the morning too - I lose my motivation to do it once I get home from work, but so far I'm not getting up early enough to do it- the bed feels too nice! LOL

I see you're in Scottsdale - my son is in Goodyear - he's in the air force at Luke. The was there August of last year to watch the kids for a weekend for them and wow - you do not go outside during the day in the summer there! I'm heading that way again the end of this month and know it will be hot!

Hey everyone! I weighed in on Friday and was down 3.8lbs smile.gif I would have posted then but I didn't get to a computer before leaving for a weekend vacation. I did pretty good while I was gone, took my JC foods and stuck pretty close to it except for last night when I ate 2 slices pizza because we stayed later on the boat then expected so I was out of my JC foods sad.gif Back on track today and feelin like this will be a great week for all of us!

Hi Cindy!!
Yes you must be right! Exercise is obviously the key! I haven't done anything for the first 7 weeks either. Until this Saturday. I got a bike and biked to my next JCC to pick up my weekly food. And today I am proud to report that I cycled to work in the morning (downhill) 35 min and home tonight (50 min) uphill. I only had to push for a short hill that was really nasty. But the rest I biked and I am soooooooo proud! My buttons of my shirt are popping! biggrin.gif

And after only a couple days of exercise I just lost another 2 lbs... insane! I know! Let's see what the official weigh in is going to say!

yiha... doing the happy dance... lalalalalalalala.... biggrin.gif

Cheers to everyone!
