I haven't posted in this forum for a while now....pretty much since I started my journey nearly 10 weeks ago but I thought I'd pop in and offer an update about how it's been going!

As you can tell from my siggy it's going pretty great! I've lost 38.6 pounds in 9 weeks and I'm hoping to make my 40 pounds down by this Saturday at my 10 week weigh in.....my JCC hasn't taken my measurements again yet so I have no idea how many inches I've lost but truthfully I'm not recognizing any difference in my clothes just yet. My first real GOAL was to lose 50 pounds by my birthday which is July 1st so if I make my 40 pounds down by this Saturday...I will have nearly 5 weeks to accomplish another 10 pounds down.

Last week I joined a gym! I am shocked and excited and overwhelmed about this but I went 5 days the first week and so far I've gone 2 times this past week with a plan to go tonight and tomorrow morning for sure! I feel all sorts of anxiety when I'm there but I am working through it and coming out feeling GREAT on the other side.

If I can make my 50 pounds down by July 1st....I'm wondering if it's realistic to think I might enter the year 2011 with 100 pounds down? I would have lost the first 50 pounds in 15 weeks.....so I'd have 6 months to lose another 50....think it's possible? 100 pounds down is the goal I set with JC but I have another 120-130 pounds to lose after that to get to my ideal weight for my body height....but if I lose 200 pounds that puts me at 190 and OMG I can't even imagine what it would feel like to not see a 3 or a 2 in front of my number....but a ONE...OMG too hard to think about...but totally motivating!

Melissa, you're doing a great job. With the gym I think that is wonderful. I would suggest that you do a lot of cardio. I don't what level you're at right now, but if you can stay on that treadmill or elliptical for 45 minutes you will greatly help mobilize those fat cells. Also, mentally planning your week ahead and including your workouts with that plan is just the right thing.

Oh, and the anxiety don't let it bother you too much. People are too busy thinking about themselves to be concerned about you. And if they are thinking of you, you would be surprised at the good thoughts running through their minds. Many would commend you for taking the right steps to change your life. Many would want to come up to you and say great job, but they don't want to embarrass you. I've recently been in the gym and people just give me thumbs up and a smile. They see you're working it girl. So keep at it!!!

Wow- That is amazing, Melissa! And what's awesome about all this is that it's not HARD it just takes planning and commitment, and lady you got that going and coming.

I am so happy for you and your success so far. Even if you don't notice it in your clothes quite yet, you will soon...especially if you keep that activity level up. Edorice is right, folks at the gym are minding their own beeswax and yet if asked would probably be rooting for you. I know I am!

Happy losing!
