Hello Jenny Friends! I have an 18 month old son and I need to lose about 30-40 lbs! I just called Jenny!! Food is being delivered tomorrow and I am very excited, and, most importantly, READY!! I was starting to put weight on before I got pregnant, then during pregnancy gained 50 lbs. I have never really had a weight problem, but getting older, I will be 41 in June...it creeps up on you, quick! My husband has a terrible diet, which has made it difficult for me to lose the weight. Not his fault. He does not force that cookie or ice cream in my mouth...but he eats meat, potatoes, and processed foods. So, dinner time is a nightmare. He does not like veggies. It has been very tough. Very hard to cook when your husband is a very picky eater and doesn't like anything...so, I have been eating whatever he eats, and have packed the pounds on. I do go to a Zumba class. It's alot of fun!! But, the last 3 months I have not been consistent. I was doing great last summer, really starting to tone up, then winter came and I got lazy. Anyhow, no more excuses. I want to be proud of myself and how I look when I am looking back at all these family pictures with the biggest love of my life. <3!! I am doing this for myself and also for him, to set a good example and to teach him healthy eating habits. Even though he is just a toddler, it's never to early to set this in motion....My aunt did Jenny 2 years ago, loved it, and lost 40 lbs. And she has kept it off!! We can do whatever we set our minds to gals!! And gents!! Sorry for the "book", but I am excited and look forward to reading other people's stories and how they are doing. Good Luck!!!

Mom to Reace, I am Melissa and have been on JC since Jan. I absolutely love it and the food as well. It sounds like you have your mind in a good place and are very motivated which is the key to success.
I wish you all the best in your journey and hope to see you around the forum again.

Welcome, Mom to Reace! I commend you on not only for working on your own eating habits but wanting to set a good example for your son! However, I had to chuckle when I read your post because it sounded a lot like my husband! He eats the worst stuff all the time and always stays so skinny! Men and their fast metabolisms! lol The best thing about being on JC has been that I have been eating what I want and not feeling guilty about it! I realized (I don't know if this has happened to you) that I was eating the same portion sizes as my husband! The ironic thing is that I have not felt hungry at all on the JC food because I eat a little bit all the time and my stomach is never empty.

Good luck to you!

I am a mom of 2 boys one is 3 and the other is 5 months. I am having a really hard time losing the baby belly this time around. I am wanted to get going on the JC but am wondering what it roughly costs for your foods. I am working at losing at least 50 lbs. I would love to get some feed back. Thanks everyone. Kimmy

Hi Kimmy, my food is around 120.00 to 140.00 a week. I buy the most expensive items though...you can opt to buy the less expensive items, just tell your JCC what your budget is and I am sire they will work w/you.

Welcome Mom to Reace! UGH - I hear you when it comes to picky, unhealthy eating hubbies! Mine is definately one of them! rolleyes.gif However....he is becoming more mindful of that as I progress on JC so maybe there is hope for yours too!!
I love the program and have been losing steadily. Sometimes not as much as I would like, but I am learning that it's all part of the process. I am learning new habits and developing a new relationship with food so I am getting much more than just a wt loss! smile.gif
Visit the forums often as I believe they are a big key to success too! Best of luck on the program! Stick to it and it will work!

Kimmy - I spend about $120 on food each week at the centre and then a little more at the store on fruits, yogurt and veggies. However, I don't see it as just the cost of food. I am also purchasing support, convenience, self esteem, happiness, a slimmer me, commradery, encouragement, motivation, a kick in the pants, a longer life....essentially a better me and that makes it a bargain! I am not rich and am having to eliminate some of the things I used to waste $$ on, but it's all for the better and it won't be like this forever! biggrin.gif

Thank you for all the feedback and support everyone! My Jenny food arrived today! And my husband stocked it in the freezer, singing "Jenny jenny, who can I turn too...?" lol Love it!! I had the cranberry almond cereal for breakfast, and yes, when I saw the package I thought Yikes!! But it was very good! And it's all about portion control. Have to keep remembering that!! biggrin.gif I then had an anytime bar a couple hours later, very small, but very tasteful. THEN I had the Pesto Pizza for lunch, and it was yummo!! I plan on having the tomato florentine soupetizer before dinner. My aunt told me those were delicious! Then I get to have my snackity snack that I haven't had yet!! I will save that for a bit later on when I am having an urge... It's my first day and I have to get into the swing of things here... I am just excited to open the cupboard and freezer and have healthy portion size meals ready for me to eat, and such a variety!! I didn't get a chance to get to the store today but am going tomorrow to fill up on the fruits, veggies and salad stuff. As far as price goes, I spent $348 for the 10 week program and the shipping was included. Not bad at all considering the amount of $$ I have spent on eating out at work, take out at home etc. And all I got out of that was an expanded waistline!!

Look forward to keeping everyone updated on my weight loss and reading about others. It does help. Thanks everyone!! And yes, Jenny can work out something affordable for everyone! Talk soon!! wink.gif

Hey, I am also a new mom! My daughter is 7 months. I had also gained some weight not only with my pregnancy, but "happy weight" from being married. I started JC a couple of months ago, and have lost 13 pounds so far!

I also have a chubby hubby who is a pizza and beer guy, so I had gained weight right along with him. Luckily, he is very supportive of me in the program, and loves to eat anything, including veggies. The nice thing is he is losing a little weight too, since we are eating a lot more salads. Of course, he still eats all the crap, like fried stuff, bacon, and fried stuff with bacon wrapped around it! smile.gif

I find that most of the JC food is really tasty and satisfying. I went ahead and got the lifetime membership, since I might have another baby someday, and if I gain again, I can always go back and take it off. I get a little hungry, but never starving like when I used to skip meals.

My favorites are the cashew chicken, and turkey burger. I still follow the preplanned menus, but if there is something I don't like (salisbury steak, bleh!) I can substitute, no problem. Also, instead of the anytime bars you can have a baby-bel cheese and a couple of crackers. So, I get to eat cheese every day, something I never thought I could do on a diet!

Well good luck to you! I am glad I can join you in support.

Thanks again Carey! 15 lbs for you...Good for you, keep up the great work!

Ava's Mom...best of luck to you! I have my double chocolate cake thawing in the kitchen as I type. rolleyes.gif And I can lose weight on this? The snacks and desserts I am finding delicious! The chicken fahitas were very tasty. I have been pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. I think the cereals are very good also...I wasn't crazy about the turkey club panini, so just won't order it again, but I am finding also that I am not "starving"...a little bit hungry at times, but not so hungry that I am going to raid the kitchen. I had a nice big salad with my Jenny lunch today... The anytime bars I could do without, but am eating one everyday.

My husband just made himself taco's and I believe ate about 8 of them. I wasn't even tempted. Yay! Tomorrow is cinco de mayo...so I am going to have the cheesy enchilada's for lunch. The gals at work are going out to a mexican place after work and asked if I would be joining them. No, I am on a mission! lol It's my first week, can't have too many temptations.

My weigh in is Saturday. I hope I will have lost at least 2 lbs.

Be back soon. Good luck to all!!

Now I know what you were all talking about. I just went to reorder my Jenny food, I had received 2 weeks worth. When I ordered I actually pd $329.81 for what I thought was 30 days worth of food. The consultant I spoke with said I could do the 10 week program with shipping for $348. I told her I had a 30 days free coupon (plus the cost of food)...she then said I could do that, it would be $330, and I could then enroll in the 10 week program after 30 days. Ok.....Had no clue it was $330 every two weeks??! ! Left that part out. They give you so much info it gets confusing!! Should have done my homework. I can not afford $330 every two weeks. My husband is laid off and collecting and we have a 19 month old. I should have known. I have lost 3 lbs in 10 days too...but there were days I was very hungry. The carrot sticks just weren't cutting it!! My consultant said she is going to speak to her supervisor and also find out who I spoke with and ordered with previously and she will call me back, but I know it is what it is. They want their $$$. I am disappointed. I will just have to step up my one hour twice weekly Zumba classes and buy Lean Cuisines etc....just watch what I am eating. Wish I could afford it, but I can't. sad.gif Good luck to everyone!!

Oh I so hate to hear this...but I do understand. i am so sorry your hubby was laid off, I know that must be hard and you have to look after your family. i wish I was a millionaire, I would help you out...i really would, but I'm not and all I can say is I wish you well and hopefully when your finances turn around you can come back.

But you can still come HERE to the forum, we'll help keep you motivated and inspired. At least you have the tools and knowledge of our the JC program works....hopefully you can incorporate that into a new eating plan that does not require membership.

Either way may God help and keep you well. smile.gif

Hi all... today is day 3 for me - goal is to lose 70 lbs (weight got out of control before my pregnancy but I actually kept the weight gain down during the pregnancy). I have a 10 1/2 month old daughter and am driven to get healthy for both of us. I also have the most supportive hubby that I'm so thankful for!! I'm finding the plan easy to follow except for when I need to say sub something out. I don't eat most cheese... so when I need to choose a meat in place of say cottage cheese I'm a bit lost. Any suggestions, from those of you that have been on JC for a while, on how to figure out easy substitutions!? I'm probably making this harder than it is!! rolleyes.gif

Oh no!!!! I am so sorry to hear that you have to quit after being with us only two weeks!

Awww... what a pain!

Maybe you want to try www.caloriecount.about.com - I am using the website to check my daily intake and output of calories and also track my vitamin and mineral intake. It's very easy to use and maybe this will help you to get to your goal!
