hi my name is shannon and i am 16, and a Sophomore in High School. I consider myself pretty good looking, but not very attractive from the head down. I am not obese, but i am overweight. I swim mostly 8 months out of the year, and i am still overweight. all of my friends are relatively thin, and can eat whatever they want. I love shopping for cute cloths, but i hate having to worry if they dont have my size. My biggest problem is that i can never just put a shirt on and pants and not have to worry if it makes me look heavier, it is usually my main concern when getting dressed, and sometimes just get annoyed. I am starting Jenny Craig in a week again, to try and loose the weight i have gained back, but nobody really understands what i am going through.

Hi, Im Mari. Im the same age as you and in the same grade. I wouldnt call myself overweight, but I would say that I am unhappy with where I am right now. My friends are also all slim, and I don't feel like I fit in with them either. When I talk about losing wieght, they say I look fine and that I dont need to lose any, but they dont really see where I am coming from. I was the fattish kid through all of middle school, so I always thought that my weight and how I looked was the reason why people didnt like me and that I was always miserable because.
I look in my closet right now and all I see are clothes that I cant wear anymore because they dont fit or they arent flattering anymore. I understand where you are coming from and know how hard it is to lose wieght as a teenage girl in highschool. One thing that I have found while on Jenny is that I havent lost much wieght on my food plan. I'm on 1700 calories right now, and am thinking that im going to go down to 1500 calories dispite what my consultant says. I feel like 1700 is a good amount if I want to maintain my weight, but I need more results from what I've been doing, especially since I do intense workouts 3 times a week. What do you think? What calories are you on right now?

OK girls, first of all you ARE beautiful! Don't let anyone tell you differently. We may all look different on the outside but that is only a very small part of who we all are. As a swimmer, you will be "bigger" due to your muscles! My god daughter is a water polo player and has larger upper body. It's ok and is no big deal. You both are on the right track and must have a strong family support to be on JC. Go for it and stay strong! Use this forum to help and talk things out. Read and reply~ it helps. Keep up the work outs and follow the plan. You will go far! Good Luck

I'm sixteen too! Once the school year starts up in August I will be a junior and by then hopefully at my goal weight!! I'm feeling the same problems ya'll are. I love to shop, but it stresses me out. Finding flattering, cute clothes seems like such a chore sometimes. And all my friends are twigs, but they eat whatever they want. It's very frustrating to have to watch all my girlfriends eat anything while I sit back and sip on some water wishing I could join in. But, the biggest thing I've learned from being on this program is you don't have to eat as a social activity. When we are 40-something and lookin hot our friends won't be, because their bad habits will catch up to them. We're one step ahead of the game! It's awesome!
I had always been the chubby, unathletic girl. I was a figure skater and I still had weight problems. Once I quit skating it got worse. I would just gain weight non-stop. I went from a size five (as an eighth-grader) to a size 9 near the end of my freshman year. It tore me apart. My mother was a Jenny Craig success, so she offered to let me join the program too. I was so excited, ready to have the body I wanted. I joined this past November and lost weight consictently. Now I'm ten pounds away from goal weight and I feel the healthiest and most confident I ever have! smile.gif

Hey,

My name is Alexandra, and I am also 16yrs old. I am now a junior in high school. I am just starting what will be a very long journey on Jenny Craig. I have to lose about 150lbs. I have been on so many diets throughout my life, so I just want this to work so that I can get down to my goal weight of 135lbs. I am wondering if you guys have any tips for me that might help this process go a little smoother.

Thanks and God Bless.

Alexandra
