Anyone interested in joining me for a 30 Day Shred Challenge beginning April 1?

If you haven't heard of it, Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser has this video out called the 30 Day Shred. The workouts are 20-30 minutes long and work cardio, abs and strength.

Lots of people have seen good results with it along with a healthy diet.

There's even a great resource for all questions related to the workout along with other Biggest Loser workout DVDs on this Shredheads blog:

Intro to Challenge and blog:
Welcome Shredheads

They even have tips on how to modify the exercises for things like knee issues, etc.:
Shred Adaptations

I'm hoping this will help me get my daily exercise in.

Hope some of you all will join me!

Count me in!
It gets great reviews. I just ordered mine from Amazon, and it should be here just in time for your challenge.

Awesome Is! I can't wait to get started. Anybody else interested? BTW - if you have Netflix, you can order it there and Comcast On Demand might have it there as well.

Well you are alive to talk about it, that is good news. So do you really like it? I have been debating about doing the workout. We finally have nice weather here and I love being outside. I went for a pretty intense bike ride yesterday. I think I need a little bit more of a specific actual toning for legs and abs. Let me know, I may join you.

Heidi: I don't have experience with other exercise dvd's, but I like the way this was structured. You do a few 'circuits' of strength work, cardio work, ab. work, so it is fast paced and broken up. I am out of shape and overweight (duh) and so was plenty challenged by level 1. However, I was not overwhelmed. It really seems like a workout I can keep doing every morning without getting hurt.
Your bike ride sounds great. I would love to be able to get outside to exercise every day. But with my work schedule I know that that isn't going to happen--so this Shred challenge will work well for me.

Oh my goodness!!! It's April 1 already??? I just got off work and ate lunch, so I'll have to do mine in a few hours.

I'm sorry your back was hurting you, Kristiny. Is it lower back? Try keeping your knees bent and your abdominals in. If the ab series stuff is bugging you, keep your feet down, knees bent, feet on the ground and your legs slightly apart and just work the upper body.

Heidiho, try it and see what you think. You could always join us later.

Isabelle, so glad you're on top of things. Congrats on completing your first day! 29 more to go.

So i hope the put up level 2 - otherwise i'll be out to purchase it! My weigh in is Sat am - going to have her take my measurements so i can see if i lose any inches in the next 30 days.

thanks for starting this. Good luck everyone.

It's my left pirformas that is hurting. (really low mid butt/ hip muscle)

I have been trying to stretch it out and rest it but I ride horses most days.

I need to add some yoga to my routine.

Ouch Kristiny! I take it you've seen someone about it then? I'm a Pilates instructor and see this in my clients. Definitely make sure you stretch. If you're interested in Yoga AND weight loss, have you tried Jillian's Yoga Meltdown? I've done it a few times and I really like it because it's still aerobic, but gets the stretching in too. Hope it gets better soon.

I'm a day behind but count me in too!

I am not a "work out" person so I liked that the 20 minutes was broken up into little bite sized chunks of 3, 2 and 1 minutes.
For excersise I walk, and walk and walk (i have a big dog so lots of walking is a must!) and while the 10,000 steps perday was working i seem kinda "stuck" right now so the 30 day shred just might be the kick I need!
Oh and I'm a canadian so everything costs more but I downloaded it from Itunes for 10 bucks

Ok, did the shred 2 days in a row ontop of my regular 10,000 steps of dog walking and today the verdict is ouch.
Think i need to skip a day to repair those muscles, then get back at it. But I like it, I can see how this short work out would have good results
