What specifically isn't going well? It'd be easier to give advice if we know what the problem is. Are you feeling hungry? We can give suggestions. Are you having trouble adding in more activity? We can help with ideas for that also. Not enough family support, getting in all the water, veggies, fruit, dairy, etc. Once everyone knows what is going on with you, lots of people will jump on here to give you the benefit of their experiance.

Take care,
Angela

From the beginning things were great. I ate my cereal which by the way was delicious. However I ran out for lunch to do some errands...... and would you know I had been gone for over an hour and 1/2. So I saw the clock and though to myself "I can't go back in to work and seat at my desk and eat my Turkey Burger..... my staff will look at me and think just because she thinks that she is the boss, she still has to follow the rules." So before I display inapproiate behavior and have my folder marked or the attention put on me, I just stopped by Mickey D (McDonald) and grab NO NOT A BURGER..... but a fish sandwich, it is much healthier right????? Yeah I had the whole combo. That is where I messed up. So I thought to myself "no Candi (my name) you have to get up off the groung and try it again". Dinner went okay somewhat. So I was packaing my lunch for the next day and what do you know my 14 year old daughter had stolen my mini blue berry muffin, mind you she will be joining JC next week also. She denied it but I had everything laid out, she ate it. We have been having issues we her taking food beucase she loves to eat. So that shot things for Friday because I had no breakfast. But today is Saturday a new day, and it started out very week my hubby and I walked a mile this morning and I am about to eat my breakfast because I have a JC meeting @ 11am. But I will post again today so be on the look out Angela to hear how my day is going?? How is your going?? Do you live in Atlanta?

I have a moocher in my house also, but mine is less than 3 years old. I always keep a few extra meals around just in case my toddler eats something of mine. More than once, she has eaten an ENTIRE teriyaki salmon! How do you say no to such a sweet little face? That, and she is underweight so I'm happy to get her to eat anything at all. Most things she is content to just eat a small bite or two, but not the salmon dinner. I've been known to hide or conceal what I am eating so that I dont have to share, and I always try to eat snacks during nap time (which unfortunately isn't every day anymore), and have breakfast before whe wakes in the morning since she loves those muffins also. Even adding salsa or spices is not enough to deter my daughter from many of the foods. Luckily she is also fond of salads, so I am always willing to share some salad with her. Dont know if any of this helps, except to have some extras on hand. I always keep a few extra rising crust pizzas around also, because my hubby loves them.

How old is your daughter? Maybe you need to have a special place set aside just for your foods, and ask your daughter to respect that. Remind her that you need her support to be successful. Maybe keep some special things on hand that the two of you can share that are "Jenny friendly"... like some frozen fruit & juice bars can sub for a fruit serving, and sugar free popsicles are unlimited. Start experimenting with making some yummy yougert and fruit smoothies... they taste kinda like a milkshake and its hard not to make at least 2 servings! My fav is to take a cup of plain or vanilla yougert (add a little vanilla extract if its plain), add a cup of milk, a banana, and either some frozen strawberries or frozen mixed berries.

Does your office have a break room where you can eat? Seriously, by the time you go thru a drive thru and eat your meal, often its not going to save you very much time compared to nuking your JC meal. If you know that you'll be using up your lunch hour running errands, take along the salad kits. Or some people cook up the turkey burger or chicken sandwich in advance to take along with them.

BTW - the fish sandwich is 380 calories, with 18 fat grams. A slightly better alternative might have been the McChicken sandwich which is 360 calories with 16 fat grams (not the premium chicken sandwiches which range from 420-580 calories). A small cheese burger is just 300 calories with 12 fat grams. A small hamburger is 250 calories with 9 fat grams.

So pick yourself up and dust yourself off. One or two meals off-plan do not have to be the end of everything. Keep doing the best that you can, become knowledgable about restaurant menus, and plan in advance for dining out situations. They will happen again, and planning what you should do in advance is the best way to prevent major slips.

Take care,
Angela
