I have put on a couple of lbs and I'm still a couple of days before my cycle even starts. I just want to know if this is normal cuz I'm freakin' out over the 2 lbs gained and hope its just water weight:/

That's part of the reason they tell us not to get on the scale. The water weight can fluctuate a lot. (I get on the scale daily

I'm very much like you where I find that I'll gain a couple of pounds maybe a couple of days before I begin my period and it sort of stays with me until my period is over. Its sooo annoying. I remember the first time it happened and I was so excited to get on the scale because I had been pushing myself, working out, eating right and doing well and I step on the scale only to see that I had gained 2 pounds. I literally almost said to heck with it and fell off the wagon. But my mom suggested maybe it was my TOM, which I didn't even think of and low and behold, it was. So I try really hard to just remind myself that its not my true weight and to just keep with it and keep on pushing even though the scale is not showing how hard I've worked. The fun part about it is that literally on my last day when I step on the scale, I've lost more weight than I normally would because I've dropped all of the water weight as well. Being a woman is lovely, isn't it? Haha

I was very happy to read about this issue. I was on week 5 last week, stuck with the plan and worked out extra hard, only to see that I had gained .2 pounds. I was soooo disappointed, especially after all the extra working out. I will really be interested to see what my next weigh in is. I am about to have my TOM, so that has got to be what it was (I keep telling myself). But it reallly is frustrating. If I had cheated, or been lazy, then ok, maybe I could deal with a small gain. But, when you work so hard, only to GAIN- well it just really hurts my MOJO.
But, I am keeping the fingers crossed thatI will have a bigger loss this next weigh in.
I keep telling myself that this is a PROCESS- you keep on keeping on even if you have little TOM setbacks.
That's the problem with being a) impatient and
But, I will NOT give up, no matter what that darn scale said last week.!!!!

I start gaining about 4 days before I start and I gain a solid 3-4 pounds each time, but once I start, it's gone almost immediately. Don't worry, it's just water weight and you will lose it in no time!

By the way, have you notice how much your weight fluctuates in one day? Melissa, if you get on the scale more than once a day, how much difference do you see between first thing in the morning and at the end of the day? I can be 2 or more pounds up by the end of the day. That's why my JC weigh-in is first thing in the morning!
A lot of people are afraid of heights. Not me, I'm afraid of widths.

Oh absolutely! I have been 2 maybe 3 up in the evening. My WI's are in the afternoon usually, but I tell my jcc my weight that morning by my scale at home, she records that one. NoWAY was I going to let her record my afternoon weight...lol.
