Hello, my name is Linda, 43, and interested in this 28 day challenge.   Join me and let's log our weight loss and excerise to keep one another motivated.

I just returned to Jenny.  After losing 15lbs about 6 months ago, I decided I could try to lose the rest of the weight on my own.    The good news is I have managed to keep the weight off but the challenge was to lose my last 10-15lbs on my own.    It's not a plateau; it is the discipline.   I like the structure, motivation and accountability that being on JC provides.   So let's go.

5'7" Starting 152.4 Goal 140lbs

I'm ready to join you Linda.  I reached goal in Oct. '09 and have had an especially difficult last few weeks.  I've challenged myself and a few others on the JATTNE thread to have a 100% on plan week, whatever that means for you.

For me it means 100% mind, body and food.  I'm pledging to lose 6 lbs by Easter weekend, Apr 3rd.  The only thing stopping me is me.  I, too need structure and support.

I'll be traveling this week with limited access to the internet.  But I'll be thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way.

Whoever wants be a part of something great, please join us!

Thanks for starting this, Linda.  Have a great week.  wink.gif

I'll join, too! smile.gif I have been on Jc for a few months and have lost 23lbs, but could use a challenge to keep me from getting complacent. I am starting this challenge at 170lbs with a goal of 163lbs by the end of the challenge. I also plan to be more consistent with excercize.

Hi Linda,

I joined JC about 4 years ago, lost 15 pounds and slowly gained it back.  I re-joined on 1/28 and have lost a little over 5lbs so far. Which is okay, but a little too slow.  The last time I did JC it took me five months to lose the 15lbs.  Maybe with some online motiviation and accountability I can speed things up.

I am 46 yrs old,  5'6''. My starting weight was 152.4.  My goal is 135. I weigh in on Wed mornings.  My biggest challenge is sticking to the plan. I find myself picking up a cookie here and there, chips, crackers and dip etc.....not huge quantities, but enough to be slowing me down.  I think because its been cold, the free foods (veggies) just don't appeal to me as a snack. Altough I defintely use them to "volumize" my lunch and dinners.

So, for this 28 day challenge.....my goal is to get out of the 140's!

I'm in!!.  I joined 1/1 and have lost 20lbs.  Once i hit 199 i seem to have stalled and my behaviors are not supporting my goal of reaching 170.  Instead of focusing on the final goal, i want to just focus on 10lbs at a time.  So for this 28 challenge, i'd like to be under 190.  I plan on working out 5x week with lunch walks and in the evening walkiing or hitting the gym.  I think its also time to switch up my routine some - i've been doing the treadmill and running, but think it might be time to do a different activity - maybe spin or zumba.  Nonetheless, i'm really happy with the weight i've lost so far and just want to continue losing by staying on plan, being aware of choices and behaviors and continuing to incorporate activity daily.

Thanks and good luck to eveyone!!

Hi,

(I'm having a little trouble with posting...not sure what I'm doing wrong...I'm going to apologize now for what might be a duplicate message)

Anyway....I'm checking in for the day and I'm happy to report that I stayed 100% on plan today.  I just finished the day with my favorite dessert..the chocolate cheesecake thawed to room temp, with fat free whip cream and fresh rasberries ( I save one of my fruits for dessert). It tastes like chocolate mousse (to me anyway). If you love chocolate, I recommend that you try this.

I should be able to stay on plan tomorrow....no social activities going on.  My WI is wed. am and I am hoping for a loss of at least one pound...the past two weeks I lost only (0.6) and (0.2). Ugh!

Hope you all are doing well!

Great job for staying 100% on plan.  I'll give myself a 90% for yesterday.  There was an extra 100calorie snack at night, but i did say no to the fresh baked banana bread and now in hindsight, i'm so glad I did.  However, I really need to get to the market for some veggies and dairy products.  I'm out and think that since i didn't have those extra veggies with dinner last night - it left me wanting more.   I didn't get to the gym yesterday - forgot that my husband had plans so I was home w/the kiddos.

Today's plan is to stay on plan, hit the gym on the way home and also hit the market tonight.  Oh - and i've decided to give up diet coke.  I'm a 1 can a day gal - maybe 2 on occasion.  but I its time to give it up.  So i'm hoping I can feel the difference in the next couple of weeks.

Love hearing how you all are doing - its very motivating to read all of your posts! smile.gif

Your posts are so inspiring.  I feel even more motivated as we do this together.    We can do this.

My weighin's are Friday morning.   My challenge is the 1.5 hours before and after dinner.
My strategy this week is to have the souptizer an hour before dinner and log into this forum to keep up the motivation.   Anyone have other strategies?

Linda

Hi Linda...  I'm the same - before and after dinner are my struggle points.  Either because I nibble while making dinner (not like it takes long to make! HA) and after dinner when i'm ready to relax in front of the TV.  I usually try and keep my sweet snack for the evening.  Even if my menu places it in the afternoon, i'll switch my fruit/yogurt to the afternoon.  Or - the other thing that works for me is to make a nice cup of hot tea.  I have a fun/favorite mug that i use and i'll sip on that while watching a show or checking these forums.  It keeps me from snacking on other things since it takes a little while to drink.  Or...just brush your teeth and call it a day.  Good luck!!  we most certainly can do this.

I had my WI this morning and it was my best week yet! Finally seeing some big results..I was down 3.4 pounds from last week. The 2 weeks prior I lost less than a pound so I really needed this.  I think I stuck to the plan much better than usual last week , and apparently it worked. So, I am going to continue to stay on track and hope for the best.  Its 4pm here, and this is normally when I would be grazing in the kitchen, but instead I'm going to surf the JC site looking for ways to add some variety to my meals....I really like the food, but after six weeks I'm getting a little bored, esp. with the lunches.

Hope you are all doing well....! I'd love to hear if you have any favorite ways to volumize lunch and dinner.

Sundevilgal...have you managed to give up the diet coke? I'm not a soda fan, but I love my mid afternoon coffee/diet hot chocolate combo. It's a nice little pick me up.

Hi there,

I'm new to the program and just started on March 8, 2010 but I'm ready to jump in with this challenge.  My weigh in is Friday AM so I'm hoping..hoping hoping for at least...1 lb?  I know its not alot but for me..its a start.  I have..however...been 100% completely..on track and haven't fudged (pardon the expression) at all.
Drinking alot of water because it seems to fill me up and trick my brain into feeling like its not hungry.

Hi Everyone -

today is WI day for me!  Hoping for a loss, don't know how great it will be as next week is the dreaded TOM, but we'll see.  I did stick to plan towards the end of my week and got in some great workouts. The front part of the week I was a bit moopy but i'm past that now.  I realized that I got under 200 and was feeling great, hearing compliments, etc.  Then I saw a girlfriend who lives farther away so i don't see her all the time.  She's tiny and i think it threw me for a loop as to how much farther i have to go and just knocked me off course for a bit.  I realize, i'm not doing this for anyone else but me (ok...maybe for my kids so they have their mom around for a long to play and be with them) but really its about me and getting healtheir.  So - i finally snapped out of it on monday. Found the strength again to say no to the not so good choices and yes to the good ones and exercise.  And its funny...saying no to that one tiny thing (fresh baked banana bread) gave me such confidence and acceptance that it fueled the rest of my week.

Sounds like everyone is doing well!

delilah08 - CONGRATS on your weight loss. doesn't it just feel great to see a number like that!!  And yes - so far so good on the diet coke.  I've replaced my afternoon diet coke with Perrier.  I think its the bubbles I like.  Feeling good and no real headaches - so that's nice.  Thanks for asking!

Lionesa - good luck at your weigh in tomorrow. sounds like you did great your first week.

Frana - hope your travels were good and good luck at your weigh in on Sat.

Sounds like there will be some weigh in posts these next couple of days.  Wishing everyone the best!

Linda- I'm a late night snacker, too.  I'm definitely still working on this one, although this week has been better.

SDG- don't sweat the weigh-in.  Sometimes the scale just hasn't caught up to our actions.  You might see a great loss next week.

Delilah-  Congrats on your loss!  Keep the momentum going!

Lionesa-  Check in with us and tell us how you did this week... fingers crossed for you.

I'm truckin' through this week and commiting to my plan for today.  I'll check in with my weigh-in results tomorrow.

Weighin 3/12/10 and 21 days to go

Ladies, I lost 2lbs this week.  For me the first couple of weigh-ins give me mixed emotions.   It feels like progress! It also feels like a baby step.

Since losing weight, I have realize that being healthy and in shape is *earned,*  not a right.    I have to earn this every day.

We can do this.

My strategy this week is to consume twice the amount of free veggies.
FYI: I found an alternative to the discontinued SW Burritos.   Amy's Organic burrito (dairy free) is very good.

Good luck to all of you on your weigh-ins.

Linda
