I'm roughly the same boat. 42 Yr from Chicago. Been on JC for about 14 months and still going strong. Welcome to the boards.
That's amazing! Very inspirational.

I am 45, I started JC on 11/6/09. Have gone from 231 to 208. For first 5 weeks I really stayed on the JC meals 7 days a week. Lost a lot of weight the first and second week, then lost 0 to 2 pounds a week after that. I am lousy at organizing things and sticking to a plan. I found JC largely did that for me. I had to measure things like dairy, and buy my veggies and fruit, but that is it. The food tastes good enough. I like that it is more about portion control than eating 'super healthy foods'. I have slowly become used to smaller portions as I go along. Sometimes it is hard to stop cravings. I have relied heavily on diet soda abd sugarfree jello the first 2 months. Now I find the busier I am, the less I have those cravings. Am beginning to wean off the diet soda and jello. I really recomment eating a lot of vegetables at lunch and dinner. Volumetrics helps. 160 calories of air popped popcorn feels better to eat than something like 10 peanuts or 3 crackers or a tablespoon and a half of peanut butter. Anyway, be sure to go to weekly consultations.

First of all congrats! You've made a really great choice in going with Jenny Craig. I've been on for almost 3 months and I've lost a total of 56 lbs with 37 lbs to go. The biggest thing is sticking with it and to keep your goal in mind. If you have a consultant, talk with them and let them know what you're feeling and let them work with you on figuring out any issues you might face. And also, if you haven't been active, start slow and build up to it. I started with just 20 minute treadmill walks and now I'm up to doing 5k runs and starting weight training. Good Luck and keep in touch!

That's great progress Joe! How do you like the personal trainer? I feel like I'm in a bit of a rut with my workouts but have heard so many mixed reviews about trainers.
Anyway, still going along. I'm finding the pace of loss to be slower than when I started but just going to keep pluging away at it.

The trainer has been great. He's motivated me. I bought 10 sessions from him. I'm going to do 5 sessions now, and then work out on my own for a month or so. My plan is to do work out 4 days/week (two days of strength training using the routine he's done for me, and 2 days of cardio). Then after a month or so, I'll come back and do 5 more sessions with him. He'll step up my routine. I'll go back out on my own, etc. I wish I had your email, I'd tell you more.....guess we're not allowed to do that on here...oh well.
