I have been on the Jenny Craig diet for about a week now. I have lost a little over two pounds and I can't wait till I lose the rest. I am not that big of fan of soy products and the JC diet is loaded with it. I am trying to still stick with the menu but it is difficult to me.
After my second consultation I decided to add soupitizers, celery and carrots to my menu . I feel alot more full after meals.
I would really appreciate a buddy to talk to while I go through this life time change. So we can talk to about meal choices hunger pains ect.

I would love to have a veg buddy. I just rejoined last week after a twelve year hiatus. When I was on program in the past, I was a meat eater, now I am mostly veg. I'm a little afraid of getting really bored with the food having a much narrower selection of foods I will eat. These first few days I have been really hungry, but I had not gotten to the food store to replenish my produce stock. Went today and am feeling better already.
Now, I have to figure out how to make a profile on here.
Cheers,
Melissa
This time is different.
This time I'm kicking a s s and asanas.
This time it is for me.
This time it is with the mindset and muscle of an athlete.
This time success is the only option.

Hello Melissa,
I am so sorry it took me so long to reply to you veggie buddy. What made you want to rejoin Jenny Craig after twelve years? What made you want to become a vegetarian and what kind of vegetarian are you? I had the same problem with getting board with the food and so I added the soupitizers in and started adding a few recipes from the Jenny Cook book in for variety. What kind of produce did you pick up at the grocery store. i really like the carrots with the JC ranch dressing.
I have been a vegetarian since 7th grade. At least that is when my parents started to listen to me when I said that I really don't want them to put meat on my plate. I have gone through the extreme of being a vegan but found that it required way too much work and so I went back to being a vegetarian. My goal was to lose 15 pounds I started befire the holiday and am almost half way. I am super excited about my progress. What is your goal? I hope to hear from you soon.

Hello,
I hope that you did join Jenny Craig. There are some limitations when it comes to the menu options but as an 8 year vegetarian we are use to this obstetrical. I was very hungry the first few day but after I realized that veggies were unlimited I have not been hungry since. I mainly snack on carrots and celery with the Jenny Craig ranch dressing. I also try to encoperate the Jenny Craig cookbook into my weekly menu. My menu selection was more limited then other vegetarians because I am not a big fan of soy meats. If you are ok with soy meats you should be just find with their menu options. Let me know how your progress is going and if you decide to join!

Hello,
I had the exact same concerns that you are experiencing. I just tried to volumize my meal and talked to my consultant about my issue. They allowed me to buy the volumetric cook book and few pounds before my half way goal. At first I found this book a little intimidating because I am not a cook. So I had another talk with my consultant and she explained that I don't have to use all of the ingredient listed only the ones that I like.
The diet is working well for me so fat. I am coming up on my half way mark. I am hoping that valentines day will not be as big of an issue as I anticipate. Some of these candies only come out once a year and once they are gone I will not see them again till 2011. I figure in moderation I should be ok.
I don't live with my bf but I know what you mean about not having anyone that wants or need to lose weight to talk to. So feel free to write and I hope that we can support each other! By the way what is you goal weight loss?

Hi Jane: I joined last evening and was surprised at the limited vegetarian choices...I will certainly respond to your request. I think it takes a lot to catch up to the changes out here, but JC needs to pay attention. I know I am going to get bored with mostly pasta dishes...where are the veggie beans and rice? I am used to cooking for myself, I don't have a microwave, so, this program is a stretch for me...Wishing you all great success! Sue

Hi Melissa,
I just started also - this is my 2nd week. I have researched the problems in the US with our food - genetically modified meat and plants and have been trying to go organic and strickly vegan. I started JC and lost 5lbs in one week and am on my 2nd. I have not bought just veg meals - but after eating on this diet for a week and half I see the patterns of my eating it was out of control. I love eating all the good veggies and just bought a lot of spices that are healthy to season - it just takes more time than eating out of a box. My eating habits were really horrible. Wish you guys well on your weight loss adventure - I have alot more to go!!

It would be so great if they could add more non fake meat items to their menu, but at least they have some options. I heard a rumor that they will be adding a (hopefully) veggie friendly cheese quesadilla (SP?) to their menu in May. I would even love a veggie burger right about now, just enough of those fake sausage type meats.
Also, I just found out how great those Steam Ziplock bags are, so simple and quick, with no clean up. And much cheaper than buying the veggies already in a steam bag from Green Giant or Birds Eye.
I agree with you on the Raviolis, not very tasty unless you like cheff boyardee (yuck) I had a box or two of the jenny raviolis that I had to eat, so I washed their sauce off and added stewed tomatos, made it a little more edible. I lost around 35-40 pounds the first time around on Jenny, so it is possible as a veg! Keep at it, and good luck!
If anyone has any add ons to spice up the vegetarian items, I would love to hear it..
