Its been great right from the start. Within the first week, I felt a big difference in the way I looked and how my cloths felt. Now that I reached 3 months and lost 18 lbs, I can't seem to stay focused. I'm not sure what changed. I couldn't believe just how easy it was in the beginning and surpriselying how easy I was losing weight. Its been 3 weeks now and haven't lost any more!

What am I doing wrong? Has anyone experienced this? Help! I don't want to give up...

It's definitely a mind game. Try and focus on one meal at a time and try to make it as interesting as possible. And remember that NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!! Don't beat yourself up either. I am also struggling but I will NOT give up, no matter what. It costs too much $$ and I committed to myself not to quit. Good luck!!

I havent been in it for 3 months - but the third week I was already almost back into my old ways - or could at least see myself heading in that direction really quickly.

I get excited about food - I look foward to it - I know I am suppose to change that thinking - but hey... one step at a time. If i knew that for dinner I had something on my menu I wasnt going to 'enjoy' then I found myself dreaming about other foods to eat that I would enjoy. To do my best to solve this problem I have started to design my own menus - putting things on the menu that I really liked (even if it meant eating two of the same meals in a week - at least I was 'looking foward to it')... I think it WORKS GREAT!!

Also I keep telling myself what I dont want to be... I have a photo of myself that is awful... bad angle and such - but man does it show me in all my glory at my biggest... its a scary sight for me (it sits on my fridge) - and although I do not want to ever look like that again - it makes me also realise I dont ever want to feel like that again!

I think just stopping and taking the time to remember where you have come from, and where you want to go... and taking out some old photos and looking at how far you have come really puts things into prespective. I also come on here alot - looking for motivation - if I am having cravings this is a good place to come to kill time and take my mind off of them smile.gif

I have a 'fat' photo on my frig as well. Or at least on the side of it so it's not as noticable to guests. It is actually our Christmas Card from this year. Ughhhhh I look so out of place in my own family!!! I have three young, tall, athletic handsome children (all taller than me) And an equally handsome tall thin husband, and then there is me!! (laughing) Well there is nothing I can do about my height, although I'm not short, 5'6, but compared to the next shortest person in my photo, (youngest son, 6ft, and my oldest 6'4) I'm short... BUT I can do something about the width!!!! That is my motivational photo!! :-)

I saw this post and thought, good there are other folks like me who have been successful and then have lost their momentum. I actually decided to use more of the etools to help myself get excited again about my weight loss and management. SUCCESS is staying at a 20 lb loss and not regaining any of it in the last three months. As my consultant Judith says, it is also about seeing myself as a thinner person and letting go of the heavier person I was. Thank you for your ideas about how to get going again. I will start looking for ways to make my meals more enjoyable with variety and some good summer farmer's market finds. Looking forward to learning more from the Val Pals.
