So would you like to hear how my 1st weigh in at JC went? I will give you a little history from my JC Diary...

Monday- Dear Diary,
Signed up for JC wondering If I can sell my first born child to pay for it, I put Roxy on ebay but no hits yet.

Tuesday- Dear Diary,
Exercised and followed JC diet until the sun went down then I had 2 glasses of wine 1/2 cup of pistachios and a hand full of red licorice I thought I read that was part of the diet.

Wednesday- Dear Diary,
Went out to lunch at a Mexican restaurant with friends, I had the chicken soup but it was full of Spanish rice and I think a whole chicken,so I consumed the entire thing and began eating off the floor.

Thursday- Dear Diary,
Had a great day exercised ate all the right things but Bill was all freaked out by the whole head turning all the way around thing, wimp- I guess I was a little moody.

Friday - Dear Diary,
Did another great job until Roxy got home with an enchanted Caramel Cheesecake torte. I was then put under a magical trance and forced to take a bite and then poof! It was gone.

Saturday- Dear Diary,
Went to a costume party, ate my JC before the party then when we arrived I ate everything else, I was then asked to leave the buffet and was restricted to the dance floor, so I paid the Bartender on the down low and met him under the disco ball for my beverages.

Sunday- Dear Diary,
Football dinner at my sister in laws, She is a WW success, but she served a cheese beach ball that was out of this world so I am convinced that she is one of several secret WW agents working on a plot to sabotage any and all JC members. I will keep my eye on her.

MONDAY WEIGH IN DAY!!!!!- I met my JCC for the first time and she is great! I wrote down and presented all of my accomplishments from the week to her on the weekly planner given to me by JC . Joni ( my consultant) Read my planner..... then looked at me .......Read it again....looked at me....Read it for the last time ...then placed her head on her desk and began to pray . She very calmly looked me straight in the eye and said ..."We shall never speak of this week again." So under the direction of my JCC this is my first week on JC and I look forward to my very first weigh in.

My well meaning friend-

This is the story of my well meaning friend lets call her MF. She is a bit older then me by about 18 years, is fit as a fiddle . She wore her 35 year old wedding dress to the Halloween party and looked fabo! A bit of a health freak, into body scans and de-toxing but still enjoys a glass of wine with the ladies. So this is what that little MF did.

I told that little MF I am on JC and doing great.
She tells me to get off of it! All I need to do is detox, She lost 2" around her waist.
I said " I had no idea poop was stored around your waist?"
Spent the next 5 hours learning how wrong I really was.

Told my little MF how great I am doing with my walking program.
That little MF was so helpful in telling me how I needed to do sooooo much more because...
what I was doing was not enough.
Thank god for that little MF.

Ran into my Little MF on the street (While I was wasting my time walking) and she invited me over for a girls night. She is making a salad pizza on my behalf, she also cut out an article on therapy and informs me that this is why I over eat. "I need Therapy" But that little MF was soo sweet she also sent out an e-vite to all the neighbors informing them of my "condition" and they will all be there to help me cope.

There is nothing like a little MF to help you on your way to a healthy life style or to cell block 12A which is where I am writing you from( my little MF didn't stand a chance against my Bif Fat B.U.T.T.
I would have written more but Theme the Thug is getting her GED online and needs the computer.

I can TOTALLY empathize with your frustration. I'm sorry that I didn't find your post until now because I too find that water is SOOOOOO key to me in losing weight. I've got the food down to a T, like you I do really well at exercising. But at times, I forget to get my 8+ glasses of water in daily and THROUGHOUT the day not squeezed in in chunks. It is surprising to me that JC Program doesn't stress water more or even have it on their "tracking sheets" to remind us to get our water in. Anyway, it is the key. However if you get stuck again, other causes could be thyroid and/or menopause depending on age. In the past on other programs I lost a lot and fast. Now that I'm 49, it's not so fast and I'm frustrated that it isn't. But, as many have said, I am losing--so I will be patient. I got myself into this mess--I am going to get myself out! Stay focused and committed and you will be SOOO proud of yourself at the finish line!

Its funny that you said when you went off plan and ate a sugary treat that you were able to still lose. I think that your problem isn't too little calories but rather the opposite. With that amount of excercise perhaps you need a little more calories. All our bodies are different and work differently. To get myself out of a plateau, I eat extra calories for a couple of days and then go back to my 1200.

Also adding some liver support to your regimen might be a very good thing. Slow weight loss can mean a sluggish liver and will therefore slow down weight loss considerably. Food for thought!
My Journey

SW 168
week 1 - 5 pounds
week 2- 3.2 pounds
week 3- 2.2 pounds
week 4 - 2.6 pounds
week 5 - 0.2 pounds (a stall maybe? had an excellent week OP)
week 6 - 2.8 pounds YES! Back on track!
week 7 - 1.8 Pounds TOM
week 8 - 1.4 pounds was hoping for more
Made EXACTLY halfway on October 30/2009
Am officially 149.5
week 9 - 2 pounds YAY! Really wanted that one
week 10 -2.2 pounds WOW wasn't expecting that one!!!
week 11 - 1.4 pounds TOM
week 12 - 0.5 Messed up...fell of wagon looking ahead and moving forward!
week 13 - 2.3 YAY almost to 139 can't wait
December 2nd 2009 bought a size 6 pair of jeans!
January 6th 141.2 Down 0.6 back to where I left off and back on track....moving forward!
January 13th -1.2

my goal is to be healthy and reach my goal of 130 pounds

Hi ALl, I am so glade to come here and read all the comments. I just had my first WI and I lost only one pound. Let me too just say that it is frustrating when you have been doing everthing right and get so little results. My JC consultant was not all that helpful in helping me to see maybe its something I can do different this week to get a better result. I would hate to give up just after one week but at this rate of lost/cost and little results I can't afford it. Anyway, some of the comments here I will take in and try to see were I am going wrong.

Sign,
Also so FRUSTRATED!!!!

I don't want to step on any consultant's toes, but perhaps you should change what you are actually eating, not just the calories. If you are working out so much, maybe choosing meals that are more lean protien would be a good idea, or watch exactly how much sugar you are getting. I've noticed in the past when I diet and exercise and nothing happens, I say "screw it" and have a cheat day. Then for some reason the scale moves downward! Shaking up your diet (while still following it) is just as important as shaking up your workout routine.
Starting Weight: 142

Goal: 130 by Wedding in November!

Hi. you must be doing something wrong, or you dont have that much weight to loose. I loose on average about 1.5 lbs a week, sometimes i have a stellar week and loose 3-4 lbs. but...i've been on JC for almost 3 months. I have only lost 23 lbs. my goal is to loose 40. I work out 3 times a week, one of those days is a 8 mile walk/run. The other days I do pilates and body sculpting. I thnk you need to stick with it, and maybe re-evaluate your excersise routine with your JC consultant. I know when you dont have alot of weight to loose, its harder to loose the lbs. I stick to the program pretty faithfully. The weeks I eat other stuff here and there, I dont loose any weight, or gain. Are you doing that too? Because that may be the road block. I feel like even if I eat a peice of string cheese, one little thing, i dont loose that week. Anyways, hope that helps you a little. Dont give up, I feel so great for having lost the 23 lbs, you can do it too!!

You must feel very disappointed! It sounds like you are trying so hard!!! I'm just wondering if you are building muscle mass. The consultant I have said this might happen, but that it will even out eventually. I have sodium issues too-cook book perhaps (yuck-hate cooking myself, but just a thought. I said a little prayer for both of us)

maybe you started excercisizing too much?

to be honest, 8 miles seems too much for a 1,500 diet.

Thanks for your feedback. I believe that if I left my pedometer on while working out, I would be hitting 10,000 steps per day. I don't think there's anything wrong with my exercising. I burn approx 600 per class...that's 3000 per week. Plus if you add my steps, I'm burning 3500 cals easily per week. I guess my major point is that I believed that by buying Jenny's food, I would have structure and lose weight. But, it seems like the opposite is happening. I'm working out consistently and varying the classes, intensity, and activity weekly. I understand it's all about calories in and calories out, but it's not tha cut and dry it seems. If I'm eating 1500 and burning 600 per day, I should be losing...but I'm not.

You cound be in starving mode, if you are eating 1500 and burning 600 that is only 900 calories per day...if your consultant is like mine, she is nice and wants to help but is clueless, JC does not train them to know about making your calories different each day to get through a plateau = changing your exercise routine. etc.
They just don't unless they read on their own. I have researched online for my type of exercise and my weight, I should eat 1660 calories per day to lose 1-2 pounds - that does not fit in the 1500 or 1700 JC has.....
I wish I lost as much weight as the rest of you - I am slow - I am just breaking thru a 3 month plateau which I did my own research to get past it. The inches are fabulous - wow - I have lost 13 inches since May......Good luck to you. And remember, you are getting healthier - try to not judge yourself by the scale alone.

Muscles are heavier than fat, that could be why. But I hear they are sposed to burn more calories in the end. I didn't lose anything my first week but eventually lost avg 2 lbs a week so patience and persistence are things you really need to have to do this in the long haul, and not giving up.

Thanks, Kathy. That is good to hear, as I was very disappointed in the results the first two or three weeks. I'm in week 5 and I don't think the scale is really moving but I've been lifting weights so I am hopeful that there will be a "crossover" at some point when the the muscles start burning more calories and the pounds start to drop. You have given me hope that I need!

Hello Frustrated,

I know how hard it is when it goes slow. However, you need to concentrate on the lost inches. That is the the true story. I have been on JC for 8 weeks and have only lost 7 lbs. The first 4 weeks I only lost 2 lbs. However, I have dropped a pants size already. So I am not concentrating on the weight on scale just the inches. I only have 4 more pounds to reach my goal weight so I did not have that much to lose. I also work out religiously as well. I just kept trying new workouts. Zumba has seemed to help me drop about 1 lb a week but that is all I do per week.

Keep the faith and look at your inches. Remember the quick weight lose never works. It is great at first but you will not retain. I know I have done them all. Anyway, keep the faith. It will come.
