Being that I can not get up on a scale (as I would fall down real quick). Was wondering, how do you all weight in?

I know that there are scales out there for people in wheelchairs (been on them when I went to Weight Watchers). But have no clue where to begin looking a scale system. My JC lady says we will probably just have to stick with doing measurements only. Which I guess is fine... but I would kind of like to know what actual weight I stated at... instead of taking a guess.

Any thoughts?

Peace!

Hi Slone, my name is Ronnie (a girl with a boys name), sorry to be so long in getting an answer to you, my computer went down when our neighbor cut a tree and it fell on our lines. He better be paying to fix it or we'll see if he likes seeing us better over the fence or in small claims court....Ha Ha. I was reading your post and I understand the difficulty you are facing. My grandmother was also very unsteady on her feet and had a difficult time with weigh ins too. We contacted her doctor and found out that at our local hospital they had a scale attached to a hoya lift. This is a sling chair attached to a scale. The sling is on a boom and can be moved around just like a crane. What we would do is move the sling and position it so that we could sit her on it directly in her chair. One person would help lift and another would position the sling under her. Then the boom would begin to lift. We only needed a few inches, just enough to clear her weight off the chair. It would show her weight and then we would lower her back into her chair. We removed the sling just like we did to put it under her. It worked really well for us. Even though she was very tiny (less than 100 pounds), dead weight is still very heavy no matter what the number is. I hope this helps and I'll be keeping an eye on the boards to find out if you had any success. Take care and good luck,
Ronne (mommybear)

thanks, mommybear

I have a scale at home that lets me hang onto something so I tell them what I weigh at home and they take my word for it.

I have MS with balance problems.

Call a hospital near your home or JC center. Most hospitals have scales that with chairs attached to them that can take your weight while you're sitting on them. You might also want to check eBay... I was able to get a great deal on one there and now have my very own!
