OK - I found you. Thanks for the directions. I am somewhat challenged in the way of technology and while it takes me a bit when I finally get it I've got it.

Thanks for inviting me in. I relate to the "being 60 trapped in a 20 year old body" (though mine is more like 32 years old). I was 32 when I reached my "ideal" weight. I even managed to maintain it for about an hour an a half. tongue.gif

I want to get there again and with the help of my family and new found friends I will.

Welcome ooak, glad to have you and your sharing. I have no idea who that woman in the mirror is or what she did with my "real" body. "I have decided to get healthy and strong" is my new mantra.

>Kathryn
Auburn, Washington
SW - 251
CW - 235
Goal - I am concentrating on 5% at a time rather than get caught up in the total lbs so much. I have lost my first 5% in the past two months and am settling in with the improved health feelings at each 5%.

You know the best part? Even when it is late, and I'm letting the dogs out for the last time, I know I can sign onto the boards while they are messing about out there, and I can find something new. Most forum's in websites are nowhere near as active as the Jenny boards. It's nice to find people who understand, and who support you on your crazy journey to avoid all the things you want to eat (What I wouldn't give for a big piece of chocolate layer cake right about now!)

Knowing I'm not alone, and knowing that there are other 60ish's out there helps a whole bunch. What a treat you all are..

Just got home from my Monday weigh in, and it is now twice that I have not lost weight each week. Knowing why doesn't help, but I do understand... Having two birthdays in the family this week, 3 dinners out, and not having time to do my regular exercise routing, what can I expect.. It just doesn't make me very happy. And it isn't even a whole pound! But I will go down next week!

Jenny says it right ... if you follow the plan, you will lose weight. Guaranteed. And the fact that I eat cake out, and then go home and go right back on the Jenny plan is a good thing, but it isn't enough to make me lose.. It just keeps me from gaining 3 pounds in one week. Why is it so hard to get the pounds off and so crazy easy to gain them!

I am almost finished with summer guests and family visits... I get to be back where I want to be, and I get to bike my getting littler butt off..

I used to hate it when Doctor's were right... Jenny is fitting into that category now! I know... do what they say, and this will work! It's just more fun to eat ice cream cones..

YIPEE - da MudMouse" is in da house! Hey, I saw what I thought was a dead mouse in my bathroom which I promptly reported excitedly to my DH who assimed his male warrior role and proceeded to check this information out ... I felt so foolish when he announced that it was nothing more than a Ficus tree leave that had fluttered to the floor. Several days later, about 3" from my chair at the desk, again I see yet another :dead mouse ... " well, can't fool me twice. I just left that sucker stay there all day long when the DH returns home from a hard day in the slt mines and asks me why I have left "THE DEAD MOUSE" sit right by me without noticing it ...

Why did a mouse run/walk toward a human when he was clearly ill? Was he coming to me for help? CPR? Or was he just scampering along and suddenly he drops dead? Kinda makes ya think ... let me know what it makes you think because I haven't got a clue what it all means.

MM - just look for the downward trend - see my last 2 weeks of weight loss and I have dropped way off the larger weekly losses. It was going to eventually happen and I have been prepared for this day and I will go all 60's on you saying it is sunshine and rainbows and how it blew my mind and it was such a trip ... in conclusion, its a BUMMER!

Cyber-waving,

Linda,

Surely you jest - why of course you are most welcome! Join us - it seems to be a great group of people who tend to have the same shared sense of humor - due to our similar ages I assume, that or it was the light that attracted them ...

Spill, share some weight loss war stories with us, we are all in the trenches doing daily battle against our common enemy ... FAT!

Suze:

You were wondering the meaning of MudMouse..

Actually, it isn't a small Dirty Rat... Rather, a long time ago, my now 25 year old son got his first screen name on AOL. I invented the name MudMouse for him cause he was little like a mouse and always filthy. Hence, the name fit. He actually developed no interest in computers when he was 7, and when he did start playing with them, he sure didn't want to be a MudMouse.. I always thought it was a funny name, and I kept it when Brian didn't want it any more..

How's that for a total let down...

P.S. Hello gorgeous!

Dear MM - and here all the while I was thinking it some strange creature living in Canada! Really! I got saddled with my name of "Babybing" due to the "Sopranos" ... the nudie bar that Tony owned was called "Ba Da Bing" which roughly translates into "big boobs" in English, so I having breasts the size of two, small bee stings ... ah, you see where this is going!

You know what I am craving to eat from Canada - the famous french fry dish covered in some sauce? Could you post the recipe please? I understand it is like major comfort food and very addictive.

The french fry thingie is called "Poutine", and to be totally honest, I don't much like it. I like my fries plain! But my step-daughter absolutely loves it, so it just depends on your tastebuds..

You make fry's the unhealthy way, you pour gravy over them, and then you cover that with cheese curds, and then you melt it. If you don't have cheese curds handy, use mozarella...

Pretty easy, pretty nasty, and like I said - I don't like gravy on my fries, but lots of people love this. I think I remember hearing it started in Quebec but I can't guarantee it.

When you get this dish made, just apply it directly to your hips. Don't bother eating it... Just slather it on.. It will save time.

Hello everybody! I am going on my fifth week and have only lost 6 lbs. I am following the 1200 calories pre-planned menu. Just started back on the first week volumetrics 1200 calories pre-set menu. While looking around to see what others are saying, I have discovered that perhaps I am eating too much sugar!. Next week I will select my own choice and see if that works better. I have lost some inches, but I am getting a bit concerned. I am glad to participate in this forum and hope that someone replies. Thanks!

Welcome Susibrown! I am not as astute about the minutia of the Jenny diet but many others here could give you very fine advice about well, just about any question you may have. I hope you are enjoying the food and the overall program and I look forward to reading your posts:))

Ok...I'm curious.......how do you get that 20 year old mind set? I'm 60....most days don't feel it(until the RA kicks in!).....I'm told I look 48.....but I honestly think like a 60 year old. If I had my choice, I think I'd rather have my 40 year old brain back.....long enough to correct some of the mistakes of the last 20 years!!!

Hey Stan - I am not certain I understand your post but that is because my prune juice hasn't kicked in yet ... what is "RA ,,, " see, this is the point where you have given me the gift of a perfect straight line to write an outrageous joke, but I shall refrain.

Stan... I gotta' tell ya'.... I think I understand what you're saying. People say I look younger than my age. Wherever that's going.... it could be 5 years, 10 years, or do they think I'm much older and just look my age? That's scarey. Dunno. Flattery can backfire.

JMO: I will never feel 20 years old again. Thank goodness! I will never have a 40 year old brain.. but that's ok, because at 20, we ain't smart. at 40, we're half way there. maybe a little too cocky for our own good. And at 60 +, we just about got it. We ain't never going to get smarter. We aren't going to experience many more new things. We're just going to enjoy life more. And, personally, I'd like to forget some stupid things from the past. Anybody got an eraser?

I told somebody today, that my mentors used to be 40. then they were 60. now, they are 90 years young! There are still things to learn. Let's get on with it.

I have been doing Jenny Plan for 1 1/2 years. No dramatic weight loss either -- 50 lbs.
That's a slow learner (certainly not a slow 'looser' ! You think? ).
Suddenly, I'm starting to carry my body differently. Taller. Not dumpy. Head up straighter. I feel much better about who I am in my clothes (size).
Yet, I find myself on the edge of this new me ... not quite an everyday feeling. I want an EVERYDAY 'proud of who I am' feeling.

Past that...... repeat after me: Do-overs are not allowed. You cannot go backwards.
Mistakes are correctable from this point forward!

Maybe.... maybe that's who you want to get back to.
So, here's to the future YOU!

Notice that your posting is from last summer, but this is the first time that I have been on here.

Age 69, joined about 6 weeks ago, down 12+ pounds. I love this program. It fits my lifestyle perfectly because I hate to cook.

Being a 60 year old trapped in a 20 year old brain, it is lonely here on this board! We need more people posting! There has to be more than just a few of us...

Say hello! Are u still on the program? I just joined 2 days ago. Love the food. More than I usually eat. How are you doing?

I just joined on Sunday (4-18-10) and am waiting for my first shipment of food to arrive. I'm doing the phone consultant thing as I work crazy hours and have a run around life after work - sound familiar!! Even though I haven't started with Jenny food yet, I am cutting back so I can say I officially started today! I entered my weekly activites and plan to really stick with this.
I'm looking forward to the first 5 pounds off as I can always seem to lose 3-4 but can never break that first 5 pund barrier. I know it will be a nice first breakthrough for me and I look forward to reporting it here!

It's nice to see other 'seniors' as I need all the support I can get. I'm 60 yrs old and only just starting to get used to calling myself a senior - haven't been that since high school!! I look forward to your posts.

Leslie - Lazy Zebra

First Goal - 145 lbs - Met 8/10/2010. Lost 24 pounds in 16 weeks, Average 1.5 lbs/week

I am a returning lifetime member. Came back last week. I first did Jenny at least 25 years ago and boy has the food gotten better!

I just had a 69th birthday and maybe my goal should be the same number of pounds as my birthday.

This week was easy as my DH and I did not eat out at all. I made him meals from the freezer that were similar to mine at dinner time. For example: Fish and Chip for me and panko fish and a potato pancake for him.

I would love to get a good discussion going. The last time I was here we had about 6 regulars who really got to know each other.
